My UA-cam account is back! I couldn't access this channel for over a week and it was so scary... so happy I finally got it back (´;ω;`) I made this video to celebrate my 1 year unemployment anniversary and I hope you enjoy it 🍰
@@kelliroberts I wasn't hacked but I lost my phone (google requires to verify an account through at least 2 devices I believe) while travelling to a different country. google's security is getting very strict that I couldn't access for the entire week until they finally trusted me 😅
You’re so right about finding a 9-5 job that aligns with your passion and offers as much freedom as possible (even if it's limited in a 9-5 🥲). I find myself in the same boat. I quit my 9-5 in 2019, and my past self would be so grateful for your video today. After 5 years out, I can tell you that it only gets better. Just imagine where you’ll be next year, or in the next 5 years-exciting times ahead!! I’m also thinking of making a video on this topic because the 'entrepreneurial' life is so different from what I expected. It’s great to see such a positive response and interest in this topic from creators like you and your viewers :) great video, mako!
@@mylifeasmako thank you, I think I might 🥰 I actually have a 5 year anniversary of quitting my 9-5 coming up in September so I will definitely do it! 💖
I love your content, Mako! I've been in business for myself for 20 years this month 🎉 But, I agree, it can be lonely and monotonous. Hiring a coach and joining online coaching communities helped tremendously! There are tons of other content creators, just like you, meeting for coffee on Zoom, and gathering in online spaces. Maybe having a coach and community will stimulate you. It helped me. Keep making videos. I like your style of content creation. I'm rooting for you! 💙
Congratulations on your first anniversary, Mako! I started my UA-cam channel in January, I'm still under 500 subscribers, and like you said, it takes a lot of effort to create contents, but I love making videos so I'm not giving up!
I think it's so important that you enjoy making contents! You might already know him but there is a famous japanese youtuber who teaches watercolor, you might be able to get some content ideas by watching his popular videos :) ua-cam.com/users/WatercolorbyShibasaki
same here! Unemployed for 1 year due to some life change journey..and that we recorded it in youtube. It's not easy, and I'm still figuring out, but we will sort it out in the way :)
Hi Rose, I am also in a "pending" situation and figuring out whats next. I think connecting with others in the same situation would be supportive because they are in the same boat and know better how you are feeling. What do you think about that?
Congrats on your bravery-it did reward for you and that´s awesome ! And wow in terms of your finances ! To save that much money to be able to afford , to quit and can live decent eiter way... So great !
Hi Mako my dear. I love everything in this video. You are an inspiration to many. You are so beautiful and living the best life. Thank you for the advice, tips and inspiration.
Happy 1-year! I just relaunched my YT channel this Summer (end of June) and I'm super excited to see what progress I can look back on over the past 12 months, just as you have in this video 🫶 congratulations on the milestone and Europe will be so fun to continue the celebration!!
Uhh so happy you're back ! ☺️ really nice insights and I think so too that most only talk about the other side and barely about the hardships so this was really grounding. Thanks so much
Hello there mako, I am that one girl who likes corporate but that would depend on the company's culture. That's where I'm at right now. I love my job and workmates but I don't like the culture. I'm contemplating and applying for another one soon. I also want to focus on my freelance in the near future. Thank you for the tips! ❤
The biggest mistake new entrepreneur make is that they do the work. I made my money in the app boom in the early 2010s. The biggest mistake I made was doing the work. It only took off once I let go and trusted employees. Entrepreneurs need to think managers, not like workers.
It is a hard work but I really enjoy the process and I don't want to take the joy out of my life at least for now :) but it must be a great advice for those who want financial success!
uk what, in the tough time for finding a job for myself, it kinda motivates to see someone taking an effort to do what they LOVE. Maybe in future i might also be on the same page as you cuz one would definitely get frustrated but who wont love a steady source of income?? kudos to u, u defo gutsy, cheers to 1 year and power for future!
Thanks for posting the video. It really feels that I'm not alone struggling to find my path being a person who has worked in corporate for more than 3 years and is now trying to live the life I always wanted post leaving my last job. Honestly it's scary inside but I'm trying my best to become a self employed person. Please wish me luck ! Thanks for the content again.
Hello mako, I feel really happy about your next trip in Europa, I agree when you said that the freedom is important because you can spend one month in Europa , I think is the best part that create conten on YT or If you can work wherever you can stay on holidays more time. At works 9-5 only have a frew days for vacation, for me one of dream life is can work from anyplace and i don't want my job 9-5 more.
The path you chose is a bit different from the corporate environment for sure. Both have pros and cons. Aren't the work hours exceptionally long in Japan, compared to Europe for example? You're brave and inspirational, Mako :)
Thanks for showing ur reality. NEXT YEAR, I WLL quit my corrupted job as public servant surrounded by worms and public parasytes that dont aggregate anything to me and our society and start something new in my pathetic life with 49 years old and nothing achieved. In worst case scenario i will be a homeless, but with my age near to death its worth the risk of failing and die miserably like other bilions of people in our planet.
Even that a whole year have passed, You are still learning, conforming your life to your UA-cam job. Maybe it will be easier later on when you get more experience. P.s. that night atmosphere in the first part of video was magic
Thank you for making this video. Entrepreneurship is such hard work and I think at times, it’s over glamorized. The freedom is definitely the best part though.
