SO GREAT! Thanks for sharing this experience it was very informative.
Question what cream did she use in your hair? I know the Coconut supercream is good but it seems like she tried a different product.
How did you like the combination of the B'leave in and the cream in your hair?. I'm thinking of purchasing the B'leave in and some sort of styling cream from them. Like you, I have thick wavy curly hair.

Thanks so much! She used the original super cream that they first came out with [not sure of the name but I know they only have 2 super creams] hope that helps :)

love Deva curl products. my hair is not kinky (natural beach waves) but the products still make it look amazing.

How much was it? There's a Devachan down the street from my job but I haven't gotten the chance to go in (or worked up the nerve, I've heard too many scary salon stories).

Hi! The service I got is called " A Set" , it was $45. This was a very basic service because I wanted to see what worked for my hair and how to apply products properly so I'm caring for my hair properly and keeping my strands moisturized. Next up I'm going to go in for a trim then a cut! #StayTuned :)

Why were you told to leave the oils alone? they're supposed to be good for your hair, especially coconut oil.

thicker oils like castor oil and butters like shea butter can build up on the hair and sometimes require mild sulphates too remove. Some oils combine with sebum too create a waxy sticky substance that is very difficult too remove even with harsh sulphates. Oils and butters are good, but make sure you clarify, and never put them on your scalp( i believe coconut, avocado and olive or safe for scalp) and never put shea butter on your scalp if you have a dry scalp, it will feel amazing then, but it reduces the ammont of oil your scalp makes so makes it drier. Stick too using oils and butter on your very ends, and make sure too clarify once a month at least!

I was told by someone before this video at Deva Curl to leave coconut oil alone for a month to 2 months (pretty much take a break) and to not put it throughout my whole head because it's just sitting on top of the hair and not penetrating. I think its safe to use on your scalp though!

Jacklyn Sweet they'd be lying to you, devacurl employees have a history of trying all kinds of tricks too make their costumers buy their products. Their super cream contains coconut oil! Coconut oil is the one and only oil scientifically PROVEN too penetrate into the cortex of the hair over a period of 6 hours, the hair absorbs 25% of its weight in coconut oil thereby protecting it from hygral fatigue. If you do 30 minute masks, it will just sit on your head, it needs to be on for 6-14 hours or more too do its magic
