Complete none sense. This is completely studio edited and mixed. Not taking away from his vocal ability. But to suggest this is “off the floor”, is ridiculous.
What's really tragic is that Chris was doing this as a tribute to Prince's passing and then a year later Chris left us as well. Rock Heaven is nicely crowded and now with the death of Meat Loaf last night I have no doubt he was welcomed with open arms by Chris, Prince and everyone else!
@@michaelpeterson7491 I think Cornell's version is by far the best, then Prince and then Sinead. But hey, that's the beautiful thing about opinions, all have our own!
One of Princes best songs. He did this recording after Prince died and I listened to it barely a year later, after Chris Cornell was gone. So ironic to hear this now deceased man pay respect to another deceased man and hear it for the first time after they were both gone. Sad that we lost 2 of the greats so close together.
Written by Prince, originally done by a group called “The Family”, then Sinead O’Connor made it most famous on the charts, and then we have this phenomenal cover by Chris!! RIP Chris Cornell ❤️🙌🏻❤️. Y’all HAVE to hear Chris’s cover of MJ’s “Billie Jean!” It’s a must!! Brad would definitely love it!!💖💙✌️👍
Since Brad loves Dolores O'Riordan, he'll love Sinéad O'Connor's version of this song, and since Lex loves eighties music, she will also love it. Please react to that too: "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinéad O'Connor.
One of the most unique voices I have ever heard. As soon as he starts singing you know who it is! Depression can get to anybody though. Just because you have fame doesn’t mean you have happiness. RIP Chris
I’ll never forget the moment I learned of his passing. I watched this video and “Say Hello to Heaven”…and had a good long cry. Nothing compares to him. ❤️🩹
I am so in love with Chris Cornell! His voice melts my soul. He does so many wonderful covers. I love his cover of Led Zeppelin's Thank You & Ave Maria is unbelievable. The man sing anything and I will be listening. You know, kind of like Brad and Dolores!. His death was devastating for so many. He will be loved and missed always. I vote for a Chris Cornell stream of any sort. Thanks so much for all you guys do. You keep us going!!!
Although I agree, I'm always baffled that no one wants anyone to hear the studio version. His voice goes into another gear when it hits the chorus, and the climax is a but more emtional. It's the defintitve version. 1999 Cornell was still near it's peak.
Yes! So much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Brings tears to my eyes every time i hear this. I absolutely love everything about Chris. Best singer of all time, hands down.
First of all thank you both very much for honoring this man he has an original voice and should be recognized cuz it's so damn original! One love this man had crazy ass vocals and sang like nobody ever will or ever has.
Best rock singer. Best cover of Prince. Please do more of him. Check out his acoustic in Sweden!!! Pick a song.... love him. Real music therapy. Your making a living from it. Some of us ride music all day. Real therapy.
What a fuckin' voice! Makes me cry. Towards the end of his life, he did a lot of acoustical stuff. Showcased his beautiful, amazing, gut wrenching voice.
Prince recorded studio demo... released after his death... original released by protégé band The Family (lead vox St. Paul Peterson) in 1985 on his Paisley Park label... made famous by Sinead O'Conner cover around 1989... Prince reclaimed song & released live version co-vox with Rosie Gaines on The Hits in 1993.
Fuck, this is an absolutely amazing cover. Man, it still hurts so much that Chris Cornell is gone. This song just brings it all back. RIP Chris, you will never be forgotten.
R.I.P Chris Cornell you will always be missed we all love you he was the last greatest voice ever in rock music period no one will ever compare to this mans voice such a beautiful soul.
Every one of his songs are amazing, he had a special gift and i cant wait for you to discover them all. Thank You for keeping his music alive.R.I.P. CHRIS ,THANK YOU for the music.
Even though I'm a massive Prince R.I.P fan and love this acoustic version of the song he wrote I wish reactors would react to Fell on Black Days a song Chris wrote and released with the band he was apart of Soundgarden from the same Sirius XM radio 📻 set as it displays what a tremendous vocal range Chris R.I.P had if you want to react to that in the future you won't be disappointed ✌💕 2U both from 🇦🇺
My all time favorite cover. Thank you for doing my (and probably a few other people’s) suggestion. Can’t listen to this song and this version without getting in my feels
Great reaction! Cornell is one of my standout favorites. I'd like to request that you react to an old Aerosmith tune called "Kings and Queens". I think you would really enjoy that one.
The one that broke me after his passing is his duet with his daughter doing "Redemption Song". It's a beautiful cover, and well worth listening to, but the idea that that poor girl no had to go on with life without her father just hammered me emotionally. Depression sucks, but suicide is never the answer - please get help.
Very true. I don't think I could ever get the image of her beautiful face singing to me about how much she loves with me with all of that pain in those beautiful eyes.
@@bradprice8040 Totally. From what I have seen, Prince didn't really promote the song greatly, and it was Sinead O'Connor who made the song iconic with her own amazing twist and performance on it. This is not to take anything away from Prince being a legend and actually creating the song, or from Chris Cornell making it his own in this version.
One of my favorite singers, listened to this the day he passed, incredible, few days later I saw guns n roses in Madrid and they paid tribute by playing black whole sun, it was unreal, absolute legend
'Wave Goodbye' is a tribute song that he wrote for his friend Jeff Buckley who tragically drowned while writing his second album (also criminally under-reacted to, and worth checking out even just on your own; 'Dream Brother' is a good start.) 'Wave Goodbye' is particularly clever in that Chris styled his vocals in homage to Jeff, using his falsetto more than just about anywhere else in his discography in this song.
In this episode of Brad & Lex, the remake of Sinead O'connor's 1990 hit written by Prince takes on its own vibe thanks to the late great Chris Cornell with his heartfelt soulful vocal style sending Lex into a slow compassionate "bobble bop" as Brad allows himself a refined and calm minimal "side to side sway".
I got to see Chris perform with Audioslave. What an amazing live singer! My wife and I were a young married couple when the Seattle sound hit. It's the soundtrack of those early days of our long marriage. This song kills me every time I hear it. RIP, Chris.
Great reaction..surprised that's the first time you ve heard that song ..it's HUGE!! AND I m sure down in the comments you have already learned that Prince actually wrote that song for Sinead O'Connor way back in the day..Chris Cornell had a beautiful voice!! It's so sad he is gone!! Keep it up! 💯

Such a true gift this man had 🎤♥️ He is missed so much 🥺 I cried for 3 days when he passed away 😪 I can listen to him for hours ☺️ Check out his cover of Zeppelin’s song “Thank You” 🌟🌟🌟
Don’t forget that this is a live session with no fancy mixing or edits laid on top.
We lost a true legend when he left this world.
Could you imagine if Chris, Layne and Scott were still alive and did a collab in todays world?! R.I.P. Legends
He had reverb on his mic but reverb or not his voice was insane

His daughter, Toni, just recently did this song as a tribute to him. It was beautiful. RIP sweet Chris 😔❤️
Oh wow, I’ll have to look for that. I had no idea.
He only learned this song to help her with it.
Did she?
Breaks your heart
He also did an amazing cover of Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean".
They reacted to that.... but they didn't react to the best version in my opinion.
@@redlettervagrant1159 This is the best version ua-cam.com/video/441mR2zsQbg/v-deo.html
Which is another that Prince had his fingerprints on. I never gave Prince the credit he deserved until recently.

If there is an existance beyond ours (which I highly doubt), they have a super rockstar orchestra over there!
Sinead O'Connor's 17 year old son took his own life just last week as well.
After Chris Cornell then it was Chester Bennington. Part of me died when that happened
Heavens not a real place ... nice sentiment tho

Accept for maybe prince the original and Sinead O'Connor.

Chris did a mashup of Metallicas “One”, sung to the music of U2s “One”. It is a remarkable song.
I love that one! But I love anything Chris Cornell did!!
Came to say this same thing, One is amazing

Love this version, great Prince song, Sin'ead O'Conner did a great version that would make Brad Cry............... Fact!
She definitely covered it better. Yes, great Prince song.
She did THE only version worth a listen IMHO. Why anyone bothers to cover it is beyond me. Sinead will always own this song.
RIP Prince too...after all...he wrote this beautiful song!
Thank you for sharing this with me ; rock on Brother Brad and sweet sister Lexie
Chris did some amazing covers. Another one to consider is his cover of Led Zeppelin's Thank You.
Wow - I never heard his cover of Thank You before. Thanks for the mention - I’m about to check that out right now!
The version he did on Howard Stern show is great there is a video
Didn't know he covered that, and don't think i approve. That song was a masterpiece and didn't need someone else tampering with it.
Nothing compares to... Chris! RIP.

Oh man, this performance brings chills and tears to the eyes every time. Miss him so much. Sunshower is another really beautiful song of his.
I cant believe I haven’t seen more reactions to Chris covering Guns and Roses “Patience” he nails it! Kinda sad though..✌🏼
Agreed. Great rendition by Chris. Gives the original a run for its money
Definitely better than the original !!... Great recommendation.

His voice is so beautifully haunting in this cover.
