Yes! Depression comes from living in the past, and anxiety comes from living in the future. Brothers and sisters in Christ, please live in the presence with the Lord our Savior. 🙏❤️
But what to do when God puts you daily next to people who traumatized you, and still treat you bad... He says to trust Him, but when I trust, He changes nothing.

Thank you, Father Moses. Another helpful and timely video in my life. There are times that whatever I'm ruminating on will wake me up in the middle of the night. Then the thoughts of past things of which I feel guilt (and repented of) or fear of future things cause me to ruminate even more, and it's helped to remember that it's demonic influence/the accuser and can be resisted. Those are the times when I repeat the Jesus Prayer. It has helped me so much. Christ is our only hope and refuge.
@RickyPyle-i7z That's it! There is another variation, also: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner." There are a good number of UA-cam videos on the Saints and Church fathers speaking/writing about this prayer and I would definitely look into it more if you're curious. It is simple, but powerful.
It feels like you're voicing the thoughts hidden in my subconscious, the ones I can't consciously access. But by presenting them like this, you've given me clarity on how to fend off the whispers and urges that lead me toward sin. Thank you for that!

As a man who used to struggle with depression these are the most helpful things I can think of: -Take Risks, don't let the fear of failure stop you from trying something new or something great -Do things that genuinely scare you or that you're afraid of (Even little things like climbing onto a roof and helping to put up Christmas lights if you're afraid of heights or saying something to the cute cashier girl other than "hi" and "thanks") -Pursue an ambitious goal, one that a lot of people don't believe you can achieve (It doesn't even matter if you fail this because no matter what the pursuit of an ambitious goal will make you a better person and give you fulfillment) With that being said, do your best to succeed -Have a passion, basically this means to find a hobby that you enjoy so much that you will spend hours and hours getting better at it -Study history, pick a role model, and then analyze the traits of your role model and list the reasons why you admire them. Then start to emulate these traits in your everyday life and eventually you will become your own role model. -Don't ever quit something just because it's hard (You can quit a crappy job if it's not the right fit for you, but never quit solely based on the fact that something is difficult). Embrace challenges and look for opportunities to improve yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually. -Never put yourself down. Try not to think negative things about yourself and especially never say them out loud. You will think more highly of yourself when you say positive things about yourself, at the very least avoid putting yourself down on purpose. -Live purposefully. Have a direction for your life and if you don't already have one, make one. Decide what's most important to you and live accordingly. If you have a family or even a single loved one, your first priority (other than serving God if you're religious) should be to provide for them, to protect them, and to help them become the best version of themselves -Develop Integrity. I can't even explain how much this increases your self-repsect. Be honest, be trustworthy, don't cheat (unless you're in a street fight) and live with honor. -Find a hobby that you're really passionate about and strive to become a master at it -Finally, probably the most important thing I can say is to think less about yourself. Think less about yourself but not less of yourself. In other words, think about other people before you think about yourself, especially your family and loved ones. If you're focused on helping them with their problems I can promise you that your problems will become less important and less troublesome. Look for opportunities to help others and make them feel better about themselves. Nothing lifts you out of depression better than helping someone out of theirs. I hope this helps. I realize that some people are genetically predisposed to having a harder time with depression, but I believe that there's nothing you can't overcome with a strong mindset. In addition, I strongly believe that going through depression and having such terrible lows actually gives you the capacity to feel even greater happiness and joy. The reason I say this is because when you feel genuine joy after being depressed for so long you can't help but feel grateful. The beauty of life is that we are meant to experience the full range of human emotions, from happiness to anger to jealousy to despair to joy. We couldn't feel genuine happiness if we never knew what it was like to be sad. If I could talk to whoever is reading this face-to-face, what I would say to you would be simple: don't quit. A quote from Winston Churchill kept me going in times when I thought I had nothing left, he said: "If you're going through Hell, keep going." Everything in life can be and is meant to be an opportunity to make yourself better, and depression is no exception. Keep fighting, all of you are descended from warriors no matter what culture or country you are from. You wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the conquering spirit of your ancestors. Live a life that would make them proud. While most of us will not fight in physical wars, no one is exempt from the battlefield of life. Depression can be a battle every single day, every single second in some cases. Keep fighting, it will only get better. And the more you fight, the more you will gain respect for yourself. I've conquered my depression. Every now and then it will start to try and creep back into my mind but I don't let it. I destroy those feelings with action. I go lift weights, I go running, I listen to metal music, whatever it takes for me to regain my confidence. You can conquer depression, no matter how severe it is. That doesn't mean you'll never have days where you feel down, but it does mean that you'll have the strength to push through and do what you need to do as a man regardless of how you're feeling. Stay strong, stay hard, and fight like dragons 🐉 You're going to be very glad you did.
Hello Father, just wanted to say as a Roman Catholic I find your videos to be extremely helpful and I feel as if they speak more directly to our struggles as Christian’s in spiritual warfare than I hear from most Catholics I have experience with in person and online. I know that is subjective but when it comes to spirituality I feel more clarity on the Orthodox side even if I have some doctrinal hang ups. Anyways thank you Father for these videos !
I thoroughly enjoy all of these videos. Such great advice as usual, father. Spiritual warfare is so real and I was completely blind to it until last year.
Thank you, Father. Your videos, one after another, are so precise and profound in addressing our struggles today. I bookmark and save most of your videos; this is one I have to keep rewatching probably on a weekly basis the rest of the year
Thank you for this video father 🙏🏾 I’m being attacked spiritually mentally and physically for months, years now. I may struggle in flesh but my spirit will never deny God
Father Moses I just want to say that your utilitarian method to spiritual struggles really helps me alot. I have an engineer's brain, so the way that you present these spiritual struggles, and their solutions, instantly hits me like a truck. I have found that other methods from great Orthodox men online, like Fr. Spyridon, do not really hit me the same. I can watch a 10 minute video of Fr. Spyridon talking about prayer, and take nothing away from it. But something about the way in which you present these ideas helps me so much.
It truly is wondrous that such a video appears so quickly as I am wrestling with these questions myself. I am currently recovering from week-long fever and many things have been revealed. And then next the wheels of the mind started turning, and the anxiety gets going… and that is when a lessor demon comes over to present “an escape, a cure” to which everything goes downhill but who cares because the pain, anxiety and other problems have been “pacified” or “nullified” and it’s all that matters until that too is unsustainable. I cannot continue in this manner. Not just as to what it’s doing to me, but how it’s affecting others in ways I may not be wholly aware of.
I happy because I’ve said “Lord JESUS CHRIST have mercy on me” so much that when I have a demonic encounter in a dream I’m saying it there too it’s now engraved in my subconscious
OCD really cooks me with this stuff bad. Not fun to deal with it at all, it’s debilitating to such a high degree. As soon as I started coming closer to Christ and finally being honest with God and confessing how I truly feel about him with my words, things started to get better.
Gonna sound stupid but stop identifying with your OCD. It’s literally just you identifying with your thoughts. That’s where all these mental health diagnoses come from. Depressed ppl just identify with the bad thoughts they have about themselves. Anxious people identify with anxious thoughts. You tell yourself you have OCD and that they’ll never stop, of course they’ll never stop if you tell yourself this. Whenever the thoughts start going just accept them. Say “okay, I’m the same person regardless if I would do this or not. I’m with god, that’s all I need” Believe in yourself and follow God, don’t attach any part of yourself to any mental diagnosis, just look at it as a phase your brain is going thru to figure out the things you fear most, and why you fear it. Look at it as a test from God, because it is. Accept the fact that any human is capable of any evil, no matter how much we all would deny it

@@Meow_Vibes888 thank you for the kind words. And may God bless you.
Oh brother I needed this. Glory to Jesus
Thank You Father Moses. God bless.
That stop sign analogy was perfect! Thank you Father for waking me up from my delusions🙏🏼☦️
Thank you for taking the time to continue posting and sharing wisdom. God bless your family.
☦️❤️
Thank you father! Lot's of love and light to all here! 🙏💕✨
What the hell is the Jesus prayer???!!!!
I need it immediately
@RickyPyle-i7z Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me a sinner.
@@KatAdVictoriam that's it?
@RickyPyle-i7z That's it!
There is another variation, also:
"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner."
There are a good number of UA-cam videos on the Saints and Church fathers speaking/writing about this prayer and I would definitely look into it more if you're curious. It is simple, but powerful.
@@KatAdVictoriam thanks, I'll use this now
God has blessed me with this message. This is something I've been dealing with heavily for days now. Thank you Lord
Thank you for this man the devil is trying to stop me daily but I’m not giving up on God and my healing❤️
you are a powerhouse. thank you
Thank you Father☦️!
It feels like you're voicing the thoughts hidden in my subconscious, the ones I can't consciously access. But by presenting them like this, you've given me clarity on how to fend off the whispers and urges that lead me toward sin. Thank you for that!
Thank you father Moses this video really helped me out God bless you keep it up
I believe the mind is a battle field we have to fight with prayer 🙏
all that was ais in this videos replayed moments that aligned with the topics and made me realize that I thought I was 100% and immediately opened up a whole new view of life. Thanks Father Moses for, you really did a lot for me and may God bless you in abundance.
As a Catholic, I really enjoy the way you explain and have spiritually made me closer to God. So happy that we do share the same fundaments
this is so incredible, I feel all of this regularly, but I could never be able to put them into words
Most timely video ever. I wasted at least an hour today imagining a conversation that never happened and probably will never happen.

These Videos are such gems. Im always feeling some kind of relief whenever a new video comes upt. Thank you and God bless.
God Bless you Father, your videos are very helpful!! Thank you for sharing this
Please keep making these videos, they are a treasure! You are like a father or a big brother to us. Many of us don't get this kind of talk for some reason or another, and it's much needed. Thanks again!
This is one of the most helpful videos I've watched. Thank you father!
That homeless person analogy was great for perspective
Thank you for this video, father. I find it more helpful than thousand psychologists and therapists.
I sometimes have these imaginary conversations. I've always found them weird but they come on their own now and then. Now I know how to combat them better. ✝️
Your videos are absolutely great! I have never seen such quality content on any other UA-cam channel.
Excellent explanation of the problems people have with over thinking. Thank you.
This is what I needed as a LCpl in the Marines. Really helping me as I am at BAC surrounded by unholiness.
Pray for me as start static line jumps next week.
Good luck bro.
As a Marine I know what you’re experiencing, brother. Praying for you. God bless.
Thank you for your wisdom and guidance. The imaginary conversations have never led to positive things. I always feel dragged down if I feed into it.
As a man who used to struggle with depression these are the most helpful things I can think of:
-Take Risks, don't let the fear of failure stop you from trying something new or something great
-Do things that genuinely scare you or that you're afraid of (Even little things like climbing onto a roof and helping to put up Christmas lights if you're afraid of heights or saying something to the cute cashier girl other than "hi" and "thanks")
-Pursue an ambitious goal, one that a lot of people don't believe you can achieve (It doesn't even matter if you fail this because no matter what the pursuit of an ambitious goal will make you a better person and give you fulfillment) With that being said, do your best to succeed
-Have a passion, basically this means to find a hobby that you enjoy so much that you will spend hours and hours getting better at it
-Study history, pick a role model, and then analyze the traits of your role model and list the reasons why you admire them.
If you have a family or even a single loved one, your first priority (other than serving God if you're religious) should be to provide for them, to protect them, and to help them become the best version of themselves
-Develop Integrity. I can't even explain how much this increases your self-repsect. Be honest, be trustworthy, don't cheat (unless you're in a street fight) and live with honor.
-Find a hobby that you're really passionate about and strive to become a master at it
-Finally, probably the most important thing I can say is to think less about yourself.
A quote from Winston Churchill kept me going in times when I thought I had nothing left, he said: "If you're going through Hell, keep going."
Everything in life can be and is meant to be an opportunity to make yourself better, and depression is no exception.
Thank you
Nice one pal❤

Hello Father, just wanted to say as a Roman Catholic I find your videos to be extremely helpful and I feel as if they speak more directly to our struggles as Christian’s in spiritual warfare than I hear from most Catholics I have experience with in person and online. I know that is subjective but when it comes to spirituality I feel more clarity on the Orthodox side even if I have some doctrinal hang ups. Anyways thank you Father for these videos !
This is the video that I needed right now... thank you so much God bless 🙏
This is excellent. Thank you, Father! God bless you
Thanks father, I love you because Christ loved us first.
I am more than conquerors! We all are!!!
Thank you so much, Father Moses, for this insight. It´s like you read my mind while explaining how the enemy attacks me. May God bless you!
I thoroughly enjoy all of these videos. Such great advice as usual, father. Spiritual warfare is so real and I was completely blind to it until last year.
your videos are always providing value, and i always take something from them, God bless you and give you the strenght to keep making these videos!
Thank you Father this came to me at the exact right time. God bless you and keep you.
This is a great video, thanks father!
Thank you, Father. This video is exactly what I needed to hear. Glory to God.
That illustration of having “fake” conversations was eye opening. ThoughtNado! I have these often haha.

Thank you, Father. Your videos, one after another, are so precise and profound in addressing our struggles today. I bookmark and save most of your videos; this is one I have to keep rewatching probably on a weekly basis the rest of the year
Thank you very so much. I see my first video 3 months ago and a learn a lot. God Bless you!
Great video. I'm struggling with applying to college and picking my major, planning my future. The devil often puts me in the thoughtnado.
Your explanations are perfect, please write a book
Thank you for this video father 🙏🏾
I’m being attacked spiritually mentally and physically for months, years now.
Me too, the truth cookie analogy and getting “sick” from it somehow clicked with me
Exactly, analytical and on point.
This was exactly what I needed
God bless you
I needed to hear this today ❤
You have no idea how much this helps, almost as if god new my suffering an guided me to your channel in a strange way. Amen
The part about having a conversation with the past… God help me I’m crazy
One of the Best advises I have ever received. Thank you and God Bless you Father Moses.
OCD really cooks me with this stuff bad. Not fun to deal with it at all, it’s debilitating to such a high degree. As soon as I started coming closer to Christ and finally being honest with God and confessing how I truly feel about him with my words, things started to get better.
It feels like OCD thoughts are hard to control. Father Moses gave some good advice tho
Accept the fact that any human is capable of any evil, no matter how much we all would deny it
This probably saved me from great hardship today. Thank you for this Fr. Moses!
13:05 felt than one. Amen
