There will be a day when I will be able to listen to this masterpiece without getting teary eyed. Today wasn't that day. I miss you dad. That line I am the snow on your palm gets me every time.
Tuomas really knows how to write these slower songs which fits perfect to the voice. I give you just about every slow song with Anette, where she show how amazing she is.
This song is written by Tuomas, as a ode to hes Father that passed away in 2021, Floor sings absolute beautiful on this, and Troy joining at end, perfect!! I lost my Father 6 years ago, and my mother 5 years ago, listening to this, will bring me memories of them, and a song of sadness, beauty and hope at same time, its a song i would consider a masterpiece, love it!! This was the first song Tuomas wrote for the new album Yesterwynde
Lanternlight is breathtakingly gorgeous ❣️ Not able to listen to this with dry eyes, it goes straight to your soul. It’s so fragile and strong at the same time. What a gorgeous piece of music composed by Tuomas and so emotionally sung by Floor. Tuomas said that Lanternlight is a song of love to celebrate live of the people that passed. In this case mainly his dad I guess.
Another poster (don’t remember name off top of my head) had mentioned about the mirrored image being a reference to Janus …looking both backwards and forwards which I found extremely interesting and wish I’d thought about that when watching this video the first time. This is such a beautiful song …the orchestration was perfect and the piano is wonderful and Floor’s voice is just sublime.
Floor recorded all of her tracks for this album at her home studio starting six weeks after giving birth. She could barely stand up and could not travel so some members came to her studio and helped with the recording. Between tracks she took care of the new baby. What a warrior! Watch the interview with Elizabeth.
I have yet to see a reactor that doesn't get a little choked up when listening to this song. It captures the reminiscences of those who are in our memories so well. I saw that this was written by Tuomas to remember his father who passed a couple years ago. Such a beautiful song.
Just a beautiful song. Heard this was the first song Tuomas wrote after his father passed. Last track on the album, the song ends with the film winding down sound. The first track starts with a film winding up sound.
Floor is a generational talent. She can be the charismatic front woman or the perfect muse with a voice I lack the skill to describe. Tuomas... first he is and always will be Nightwish. And, even though I lack the musical background to make the claim with any authority, seems to be a genius. What an exceptional and unique group of musicians. As Salieri says in the movie Amadeus (when describing one of Mozart's works): "This was a music I'd never heard. Filled with such longing, such unfulfillable longing, it had me trembling. It seemed to me that I was hearing the voice of God." A bit over the top... nah.
One of the most beautiful songs I ever heard.

Quite possibly the most beautiful song Tuomas has ever written and Floor has ever sung. Achingly beautiful and we get to hear Tuomas' piano expertise.
Everything about Floor just keeps getting more beautiful
Stunningly beautiful, leaving this grizzled old 58 year old headbanger with tear in his eye - only Nightwish can do this 😳

As soon as Floor starts to sing I have goosebumps... Every time!

This is why Maestro Tuomas is the Metal Mozart! Another masterpiece!🎸🤘
What a beautiful one… but it’s always sooo emotional… 👍‼️🏆

It wasn't six weeks. It was six days actually after she gave birth.

Floor on highest Levels as Tuomas. Nice performance from Troy.
Love Floor's lower register
Tuomas' musical genius has a Floor...but no ceiling. Haunting.
Just a beautiful song. Heard this was the first song Tuomas wrote after his father passed.

Nah...😊
The first song (same title as the album) started with the sound of a projector, this is the last song....
Thanks❤❤❤

Every Nightwish fan's new funeral song:
I can't help wondering if Tuomas got the inspiration of the piano parts from the theme music of 'Westworld'. Seems very similar to me.
Kiitos TUOMAS HOLOPAINEN masterpiece. from Finland.
