- The DJI Goggles V1 and V2 have been great performing units for some time now, but over the years, pilots have continually asked for Betaflight OSD support. The team at FPV WTF has finally answered our prayers and engineered a way to make this feat happen. Today we’ll be taking quick dive, demonstrating how to see Betaflight OSD in you V1 and V2 DVR recordings.

This is great to know. Thanks. Just rooted and installed wtfos plus modules to my goggles and all my vistas this weekend, so it is perfect timing. I'll just be glad when betaflight 4.4 is in final so we can locate the osd info easily out in the black bands when flying 4:3 and I think change to more fonts as well.
I was forced to root now as I'm getting ready to try the O3 Air Unit. Yes, I agree with you sentiments, and I'm tempted to try 4.4 as a release candidate, but we will see.
@@OneManUnmanned Anxious to hear your thoughts on the 03. I'll likely try to grab one for one of my 5" freestyles shortly after Christmas if the reviews stay as positive as I've seen so far. It is tempting to grab the release candidate, both for that and the improved rth features. But I think I'll wait at least a bit longer.

Sounds like a good upgrade...I have 4.4 on one of my builds, but that's using the O3 Air Unit.

Then you don’t have to use the OSD file. I won’t show up.
We can also have the recording of the OSD in the DVR with air o3 ?

I'm sure you Already have your answer, but I tested and tried yesterday, and it didn't work for me. I think it's impossible at this time.

I am confused as when i position my icons eg gps sats Top right corner in the betaflight osd screen, when i look in my goggles it has put it in bottom left. Yes I am in hd and my goggles are 16.9 screen display I am on the V2 dji goggles Any help
I don't know how to fix this, but I've seen many users indicate your same experience,especially with the GPS data. If I find a resolution, I will post it.

I had issues with the V2s not displaying Betaflight's OSD where I put it. When I selected 'auto' instead of 'HD' in the OSD page, where the choices are: [ auto, HD, Pal, NTSC ] it helped. Hope it's the same for you, good luck & happy flying!
So do you see the osd in real time or just overlaid over recording only? i wanna know how much voltage im draining while im flying. is that possible?
Yes, you can see it in real time and also record it.

@@DimmyV Cannot root goggles V2 with lastest firmware. It said "The signing server could not be reached. It might be down or your ISP might be blocking it."
@@vietmove thanks, why would the ISP be blocking it? Could you not just use a VPN? I haven't tried yet I am happy with the current OSD as it works and flys.
Demetios, check out the comments on my other video. Apparently the "Butter" code from FPV WTF helps to roll back the firmware if you want to install WTF OS.
I'm sure it's been asked, but, can you run this with the dji fpv drone? or is this an air unit thing only?

At this time, that's not possible. DJI did not design the goggles V2 with those features, that's why this is such a big deal. You can get that feature using the newer Goggles2 and the new O3 Air Unit.

What kind of file format is the *.osd file? Is it Already a video file or a data only file?
I would like to use this osd on my HD ActionCam footage. So it would be much better to get the osd on a green screen. So I can use it in my video editor and put it on my HD footage. Very easy, very simple and much less rendering for this website.
I think it's a data file, but only works with your goggles dvr file. Let me know if it works with your action cam.
Does anybody knows if this can work with O3 air unit and Googles V2?
I just tried and tested this yesterday.. it does NOT work. It does not generate an OSD file, and therefore impossible. Maybe the FPV WTF guys can figure it out in the future.

Have you ever known of any issues with v1’s not allowing the FPV WTF OSD hack to work? On my goggle all I get is in the lower left it says “OSD waiting”. I have not gotten anything to work. I have been working on this for 5 days and seem to get nowhere. I have uninstalled/reinstalled so many times and starting to think I am just making it worse. Does anyone know of a stead fast step by step idiot proof way to load this?
I am using the V2, but the first thing i would try, with your description of problem, would be to try a different cable. some usb-c cables won't work for data, and even some of the usb-c cables that do work for data, need to be plugged in with a specific end of the cable into the goggles. I think it has something to do with a capacitor, (that is in the cable from the manufacturer) but I am not an expert on this, I am only going by what i have seen other people do, and what I have had luck with.

No, it does not work on Avata, but the Avata can record OSD with DJI Goggles2.
I noticed that you have the analog adapter. Can you switch between analog and digital flying with a button?
Yes, you have to go into the Menu of the Google to switch to AV(analog) mode.

What about osd in o3 with googles v2?
If you configure Betaflight correctly, you'll have OSD in V2 goggles, but can't record it to your DVR. I demonstrate this in the video linked below.

Still no solution for that yet. You could get the Goggles 2 or Integra to record OSD.

Will this still work with V2 in 2024? I have full OSD I my goggles but they are not recorded in the video or set file. I have O3 Units
This still works in 2024, but the V2 goggles canNOT record OSD to the SD card while using the O3 Air Units. Its the only limitation of the V2 goggles.
So how can I solve that 😢

I see you have both O3 and wtfos working. What firmware are you running? Do you have to be on V01.00.0606 or are you running the latest firmware?
as far as i know minimum goggles v2 firmware for O3 is V01.04

No, not at this time. I wish it did though. You can still get OSD and OSD recorded if you have the Goggles 2.

Both.. To see the fonts in the goggles while flying, you'll need to do the WTF Root in the goggles. I've made a how to video on that. I'll leave it linked below.

Im trying over here but no luck , stuck at osd waiting.....between betaflight and my quad (nazgl envouge) something is off, but cant find the issue.

question: do I need to put the white and gray on a seperate uart, should they be rmove from the plug and place on a different uart, it was the Dji remote 1 , but swiitch to radiomaster , only sbus not connected.

Don't understand why people use the word "root", it just sounds classy, instead of just saying "JAILBREAK", i think the younger generation would understand better. Just my thinking. This is a great video, thank you for sharing.
Afaik dji googles uses linux-android system, but it’s not usual as on phones and on android phone you need to root it’s very similar
I think most people use "root" as a pleasant way of saying "figured out a way around the Operating system." I hear the term "jailbreak" more around Apple products.
@@OneManUnmanned Yes, that's true. i've been jailbreaking my iPads, old iPods since iOS 9. Recently updated my iPhone and its running iOS 15.1, just patiently wating for a new jailbreak. One of the benefits i like about jailbreaking is no ads on yt and when streaming movies, no ads. 😂 great videos, thank you for sharing. I'm up to 14 quads that i built. 😬

All the answers are kinda bs... It's called rooting because you gain access to the root (system) account of the device, which has permission to do (pretty much) everything. On the iPhone, it's basically the same thing. It was called jailbreaking because it "broke apples chains".
TL;DR It doesn't have anything to do with the OS, rooting == jailbreaking.
