    Love how thorough this review was. New sub here!! I have been wondering about these since I saw them in a sketchbox box. They seem less forgiving than other alcohol markers. I do like their layering capability. Love the artwork. Thanks for sharing!!

    If you use marker paper, blending these is a cinch and gorgeous!

    I wonder if these are similar at all to Pitt pens (which I love). Love the owl.

      Thank you! 🥹🦉 Oh yes I think they may be~ They are pigment based, smudge proof and waterproof when dry! I love Pitt pens too. I think the main difference is going to be the nib size, which will be smaller than the Pantone marker brush tip. They are definitely compatible if you wanted to use them together. Hope this helps! ✨

    There are plenty of artists who might enjoy the non blending aspect of these markers, but considering the pantone system I bet it's a bit pricy 😅 thank you for the review fro some reason when I heard about these I assumed that they were watercolor markers so I was so confused about them not being blendable 😂

    • @VicHollinsart
      @VicHollinsart  Рік тому +5

      They are definitely on the pricer side, ($8.11/marker)! I would recommend them if you need the PMS system & enjoy layering! Otherwise, Copics are ($5.20/marker) and blend seamlessly.
      I wish they were watercolor markers… I would be obsessed! Haha Ecoline markers are also by Talens (they are watercolor) and they are 5⭐️!

    I stumbled upon this review looking up other experiences w these markers, I picked these up over the new year. Even if they don’t blend the streaking is unacceptable at this price point. You have to work so much harder to be mindful while layering and I found the grays take on an ashen appearance look after drying down.

    • @VicHollinsart
      @VicHollinsart  9 місяців тому +2

      Totally agree with you on that~ the streaking is difficult to avoid! And it varies color to color. I feel like the only way to get a solid fill is to apply a very slow steady stroke. Definitely not as user friendly as some other markers out there. I think these markers are best for artists who want/need the color matching, it may be worth the extra effort for them! Thanks for watching & sharing, too! ✨☺️

    Can they blend on watercolor paper? 🤨Too bad they don't blend. The owl is great, Thx Vic

      Great question! I did try them on other surfaces as well, with not much luck in the blending department. I think it's just because of how quickly the ink dries. I wish I had some sort of plastic paper to try these on like Yupo! That may be a different outcome. Thanks for watching! 🦉💕

    Do you think these would go well with the Pitt pens? I love those, but they lack some colours I like to use. So maybe I can add those colours from these? 🤔 I meanly use them in colouring books, so do they bleed on more regular paper?

    • @VicHollinsart
      @VicHollinsart  Рік тому +6

      I actually have some Pitt pens and tried them for you~ they work great together. ☺️ Especially if you’re going to use them to fill in coloring books! The Pantone markers won’t bleed on any papers I’ve tried, and they don’t do anything strange with the Pitt pen ink- in fact, they pair quite nicely. I hope this helps!

    I'm not even going to sugarcoat it, these are a gimmick at best. You can have the EXACT Pantone markers color according to their system... cool! Now what? It's not the same as getting paint for a building/project. I think it's a cool idea, but pointless overall.

    • @VicHollinsart
      @VicHollinsart  10 місяців тому +2

      Lol! Totally understandable. I won't be using them for their Color system.. Hopefully some interior designers or something of the likes can!
