just done this to mine after watching this and I got to say its adds class and so easy to do. after watching your videos I do most of my own services now saves alot of money plus the satisfaction of knowing I did it. thank you. just need to add the boot closer now and some boot lights.
I just got mine and I'm absolutely over the moon. Like you, it was a long wait, I guess because of the Corona outbreak, but finally it's here and I can't wait to fit it on my Volvo. I have studied your video several times and I'm confident now about fitting it. Your videos are an absolute gem and I can't thank you enough for being so dedicated.
Thank you. I've ordered a second hand one which I'm going to try spraying myself. Haven't received my car yet but it's also oyster grey! Seeing this video brings me so much relief - I was wondering how to align the drill holes - I had no idea they were already marked! Excellent informative video!
Yeah love it. Our 2001 XC70 blew a transmission and was uneconomical to repair. Ended up giving the car away to our mechanic. Now have a 2011 version just like yours. Would love to get the spoiler. Yours looks a treat. Keep up the videos on the car.
Got one for my 2008 XC70 3.2 … Changes the look of the car. I have to admit, drilling thru the tailgate was a bit stressful. But having watched you do it, I knew it was the right thing to do. Thanks from QC!
Just fitted our genuine volvo spoiler thanks to your guide. Also ordered the tailight mod from russia. Can t wait for that to arrive. LOVE your channel keep up the good work. :)
Beautiful Job , Ive asked my Volvo Dealer to supply & fit ,but they refused to do it . Love the curtains you had installed ,looking for something that would help when having a sleep . Beautiful cars
Love it! I am going to fit one to my V50 which is in Brilliant Blue. But I am going to spray the spoiler, door mirror cappings, and fog light surrounds in satin silver to match the front grille and Medusa rims.
Really worth the time and money! I want to do the exact same thing on my 2014 V70, cause the back looks a bit dull now. Just showed this video to my wife, she is almost convinced I can do it myself. It just scares the living hell out of her I have to drill holes in our new car to install this spoiler, which makes sense.. ;) Thanks for the instructions!
I have V70 SE sport and it is the spoiler that makes the car, If something happened to my car i would buy another but thanks to this video i know i can add the finishing touch myself to an SE Lux :)
I recommend getting a spoiler too, it changes the aerodynamics in a way so theres less dirt and shit getting splashed onto the back window, especially noticeable during wintertime. It also looks ten times cooler :D
Extremely good and helpful video, you really should get the side scuff plates too! And VIDA if you don't already have it, it has all of the instructions.
I allso have the spoiler on my present XC70 (and had it on my previous XC70 as well) It was also added later, the previous owner had it done by the Volvo dealer. Looks sooooo much better !!
Looks great and nice video. I've just bought a Volvo V70 D3 from 2013 to go alongside our Volvo V70 2.4 from 2007 (P2 chassis). The P2 had the spoiler installed when we bought it, but the new one hasn't got one and as far as I can tell, the rearwindow becomes dirty much faster on the new one when compared to the P2. So I will be getting a spoiler for the new one, partially for the looks of it and partially for the practicality of a little less dirt going on the back of the car.
Looks like a well integrated design. My Volvo ski box contacts the non spoiler lip. Even with box adjustment, I am cantilevered too much. Looks good though.
Looks awesome! It really adds to the look of the rear hatch & fkows beautifully with the lines. My wife wants to trade her 2004 XC70 for a newer model. I'll definately be doing this mod to her new one. Thanks for the great install video!!
$400 dollars is on the higher side considering one can get these aftermarket or from accident vehicles. Gives the vehicle a beautiful look, not sure if it increases down force sufficiently to have significant impact on the way the vehicle handles on the road.
Yuri, in my opinion spoiler adds a lot to look of your car. XC70 is my dream car and I love to watch your videos. Great job and explanation with this and all your other videos. If there's a technical possibility, I'd change the front and rear bumpers for 2015 model. In my opinion those new ones with just two chrome lines around fog lights look much better than older ones with full chrome parallelogram. :)
It´s true. The spoiler really adds up on the looks of the car. Do you know about the "Side Scuff Plate" that also adds up alot on the looks of the car. I mtself got a XC70 last week heh.
+Colossal 848 Side scuff plates look good, too! However, when you step outside the car in the winter, you may get your trousers dirty easier. But even though I like it a lot. Did you get a new XC70 or an used one?
Yes that´s true! But they look damn good. The combination of Side Scuff plate is really nice. I got a used one. It´s a 2014 model Summum it had really low milage and I still got Volvo Warranty until September. A picture down here -->drive.google.com/file/d/0B66-gPOIVNq8VkE4UE8xak5DQXc/view?usp=sharing
Hi, I like your videos. I will install this spoiler on my 'new' '08 XC70 next month. Also the grille is a very good idea. Thanx. Subscribed to your videos. Greetz from a Dutchman living in Norway. :-)
The price seems a bit high, I have seen roof spoilers for my V50 for around $50-$100, they need painting, as they only come with a coating of primer. But paint is cheap. The end result on your car is great. Lovely Volvo you have there.
Yuri, most your videos regarding Volvo Xc70 I watched and save for easy findings, currently I'm own two 2002 V40T and from a month my dream 2008 V. xc70 with only 88 k. exactly likes your however, your videos are 5-7 years old and many address inf. lost including Amazon or like " Volvo cars accessories " for me a 72 jungle, my I please, could you be kind sent exact link to the best locations for accessories to closely beautification and upgrading like yours beast or personal contact, thanks !!
A friend is selling a 2009 T6 exactly like yours.....71K Km. Original owner. Rarely driven in winter. Well maintained. He drives a BMW in the winter in Florida. T6 is in a garage in Toronto while away. Curious about your thoughts. My concern is fuel economy. Heavier car + AWD. I live just east of Toronto. Taking it for a test drive tomorrow and examing all the paperwork. PS like your spoiler video.
Barry Tripp When you get a heavy six cylinder awd turbo car you can not expect honda civic fuel economy. I get between 13 to 16 L per 100km. But I know I am safe in my Volvo! I am quick with my T6, I have awd in Manitoba Canadian winters and I do like wagon which gives me extra space for my stuff. And its not a common car on the road. Go for it!
+volvosweden I did buy the car. Love it. I added some accesories which can be seen here barrytripp.smugmug.com/Personal/Volvo/2009-Volvo-XC70-T6-AWD-Turbo/n-cTgfCH
Hey man! I love your videos, really nice! (Subscribed). I had a question. Do you know about the side scuff plate? That would really have add up on the looks of your car! I´m planning on getting those but I don´t know if I should mount myself or leave it to get it done by Volvo. Was mount the spoiler hard? or pretty easy?
+Kevin Lane It means that once you drill the hole, the bolt will go through with the correct angle to be attached. If you drill using incorrect angle the bolt will not screw in.
volvosweden so in this case you can drill straight through and don't have to twist the drill to get an appropriate hole in which the bolts will fit in?
Ugh, watching you drill those holes made me feel sick, LOL. But, I know the instructions say 10mm, and you drilled to 8mm... any regrets with that decision? No warping or bending issues? I’m guessing they recommend 10mm in case of any expansion/contraction, though there would be little with fiberglass. Just curious if you have any regrets, or if I should do the same. Thanks!
Yes is a good looking update to the car, but worth it? I dont know, in sweden we pay 4120-5300 kr, swedish crowns=SEK and thats a lot of money in Sweden, i feel it should have cost maybe 1250-1500 kr, it´s not worth it but it looks great, and now then i can get it in another fabricat, than Volvos own, for a better price, Thanks then for a great video, i always enjoy your videos, best regards from Lennart in Sweden

Nice estate. Spoiler does add appeal to the XC70.
Thank you. I've ordered a second hand one which I'm going to try spraying myself. Haven't received my car yet but it's also oyster grey! Seeing this video brings me so much relief - I was wondering how to align the drill holes - I had no idea they were already marked! Excellent informative video!

The spoiler is a must on V70 XC70 . Do not regret. I want one for my V50 too.
Looks hundred times better!!

Not hard at all. Do it. It will transform the look of your V70.
I will definitely do it, my V70 begs for it. And who am I to say no? ;)
I have V70 SE sport and it is the spoiler that makes the car, If something happened to my car i would buy another but thanks to this video i know i can add the finishing touch myself to an SE Lux :)
Today I fixed a spoiler on my 2011 Volvo V50, looks pretty nice, ready for a new upgrade..
Nisam video da neko toliko voli svoj automobil i da ulaze toliko na njega. 😊
Great video, just had one fitted to my XC70. I didn't fancy drilling the tailgate so I bottled it and took it to my local Volvo dealer!! Thanks again.
+1 on using 8mm drill only. Worked perfect on mine as well.
Hey. email me the results! yuriyermilov@gmail.com

Extremely good and helpful video, you really should get the side scuff plates too! And VIDA if you don't already have it, it has all of the instructions.
+Martin K Thx. VIDA I have. The scuff plates are around 500$ and not a priority. Maybe one day.
400 ouch but they take the car to the next level
I allso have the spoiler on my present XC70 (and had it on my previous XC70 as well)
It was also added later, the previous owner had it done by the Volvo dealer.

looks amazing. just bought mine I'm just scared shitless to f... it up!
so how did you go ?
Worth every penny the car looks so much better now 😎💪👍

Thanks for the helpful video which helped me decide that I'm definitely doing this to my XC70. It looks great!
Looks awesome! It really adds to the look of the rear hatch & fkows beautifully with the lines. My wife wants to trade her 2004 XC70 for a newer model. I'll definately be doing this mod to her new one. Thanks for the great install video!!
Got my spoiler yesterday, thanks for the video great help in fitting it 👍👍
Wonderful explanation! I just did mine in under 30 minutes! Thanks for your vids
Excellent informative video, spasiba comrad Yuri !!
That should be standard for fabric. Looks so much better with spoiler 😎
Just installed it, thanks to you vid it took only 25 minutes.
Great. Do you like it?
volvosweden You bet I like it. Next is the Grille.
Ewout Schalkwijk buy coils, new grill, devileyes, wind deflektors and you will be good to go :)
Did it too 6 months ago... looks really nice! It needs it.
Great video gives the vehicle a more sportier look.
$400 dollars is on the higher side considering one can get these aftermarket or from accident vehicles.
Gives the vehicle a beautiful look, not sure if it increases down force sufficiently to have significant impact on the way the vehicle handles on the road.
It does make a difference adding the spoiler.
Thanks, I just installed my new spoiler. Video was very helpful ;-)
Glad I could help.
Looks absolutely stunning! Great job. I think I need to fit one to my XC70 now! 👍😉😁
Fantastic video. Excellent explanation
Looks pretty cool and sharp!

+Colossal 848 Nice! In fact it's almost the same as Yuri's. Do you plan to add those side scuff plates to your car?
+Tomasz Gołębiewski Yes I have plans for it in the future. I need to get a wing and tinted windows also hehe. But as I said just bought it. :D
Thank you for this guide, this made me confident to do this my self!
+Markus Hellke Nice.
Well done! I’m getting one for my 2012 XC70 AWD. Thank you

Looking good. I'm thinking I'll install one on my V70.
Love it , Just enquired earlier .Great Job
Great work, love your videos
Looks fantastic

Good clip! Indeed very helpful and instructive. Thanks!!
Another useful tutorial - thank you.
Great job well done.looks nice
Much better, looks great!
It does. Thx
Thanks for all videos , you are the best! Does the spoiler helps against dirt on the backwindow , or is it just for the look?
It's amazing, great for you work !!! one question, Where i can buy you sticker "Made in Sweden" ? thx
+Armando Laguna Made on Sweden I got on eBay. Thx!!!
Thx !!!
Great video!Thanks! 👍
Like the registratuon plate 👍👍

for password.
+Barry Tripp works. Nice xc70. Whats all that eqipment on passengers seat? I like that roof box.
Does it improve the fuel efficiency or noise from the rear when traveling at speed. Very well done.
BTW: Your latest videos are very clean and of high resolution. May I ask what camera you use? You always do a good job. -Thanks (2011 S80 T6 AWD)
mazinman3 Thx. I use both. Panasonic HDC-SD60 (getting old) ans Sony HDR AS200V Action Cam.
Would love to see a video of scuff plate installation.
+LoveMy XC70 once I have the funds for this accessorie.
Very worth it in my opinion
Next update: New tail lights? :)
Молодец!

Hey. Not sure about the scuff plate. Spoiler was not hard. Pretty sure I can do the scuff plate myself. Don't know about you.
Hi can you make s video of how to install side (cross country) body kit?
yyt101 Sorry, I dont have plans on purchasing the side scuffs for my XC70.
Have you find a video or so? I also want that hehe.
Looks great.
Nice 😊👍🏻
Like it a lot. Although i would not have the courage to drill my car. Was that metal?
F Carv Not metal. It was not easy to drill my Volvo. But it will not rust.
Does that really help or is it just for pretty?
nice clean job
Hello from sweden 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
+Zixzero 60 Hello from Canada!
7:24 why is it neccessary to use Isopropanol when assembling the spoiler?
You have to use it to clean the surface from any wax so that the factory adhesive sticks to the surface.
volvosweden so isopropanol works as glue?
No. it act as a surface degreaser. The double sided tape is on the spoiler from factory.
Okey thanks ;)
Awesome stuff
Чудовий канал! Але якби переклад був!було б краще!
totally worth it
you have like all accessories available for the volvo
+farerse Not all. Too much $
Cпасибо за видео! Захотел и я теперь спойлер )) Заднее стекло меньше забрасывает грязью в дождливую погоду? или спойлер чисто декоративный?
Для меня чисто декоротивно. Пока не замечал разницу.
Bro the c30 🙏🏻
When you say that you have to drill in the right angle, does it mean that I can drill straight through the hole?

I’m guessing they recommend 10mm in case of any expansion/contraction, though there would be little with fiberglass. Just curious if you have any regrets, or if I should do the same. Thanks!
No regrets!!! Do it! It adds to the looks. 8mm works perfect.

Good work ,wow
Hello. Where did you buy the spoiler? What site should I look for it on?
Dealer.
I've seen alot of your videos, you seem like a big Volvo Enthusiast. Is your garage full of various Volvo's?
I own 1990 Volvo 240, 2009 XC70 T6 and 2013 Volvo VNL 670 D13.
nice... maybe i get one on ebay - third party copy and let it paint accordingly... get them already for less than 100$
