Hemps has a moisturizer that is labeled “beauty actives” and has vitamin c on. I find it to be a really good body moisturizer that’s still decently affordable. I’m hella generous with is and the bottle still last me quite a while. But I’d be curious about your opinion. It’s one of the few body products I’ve seen with actives in it, other than olay having a body wash line that has a collagen, vitamin bsomething, and retinol version, at least for drugstore level brands that aren’t too insanely expensive.
Vitamin C is always causing me to break out though. Haven't found a product yet that doesn't. At first I though it was only ascorbic acid, but I also get breakouts from the derivatives.
galactomyces vitamin c serum try it you will love it i was like you everytime i use vitamin c my face become sensitive but when i started this vitamin c serum my face become more brightness and soft sorry english isn't my first language
5mo later but I had the same issue for a while until I realized why and it was due to the Vitamin C oxidizing while on my face causing more irritation although helping with coloration! Highly recommend looking for a product that has Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate if you haven't yet tried it's the salt version derivative of Vit C and does not oxidize is pretty light safe, and can be used with Niacinamide without making you look red due to that interaction with normal Ascorbic Acid! So if you haven't tried that one it is quite literally the most desensitizing and be careful to look out for packaging also that doesn't let light through the bottle could be purple or typically brown if not totally unseeable through! Droppers typically aren't that so :)!
This also happens to me even after using Vanicream Vit C for sensitive skin. It doesn’t burn my face but sure at the end of the day I have random breakouts on my face despite using it with sunscreen.
Vit C in my toner is miraculous. My overall colour is brighter, not as sallow. I bring it down on my neck/back of neck and décolletage too. Phenomenal difference.
Personally I tried many different actives on my skin before using vitamin c but when I finally started using it I sow a HUGE difference. I used to think that it wasn't that helpful but my skin never loked better
Can you share the order in which VIT C sunscreen and retinol should be applied? I am so lost when it comes to skincare. I’m 34 and need to get educated
Not a derm at all, but read and looked up a lot on this. Retinol only at night. Vit c first and then sunscreen in morning. Never skip sunscreen if you are using retinol. Also go very slow with the retinol; start with once a week and give your skin a break if it starts acting up. Also generally sunscreen should be the last step of skincare in the morning, before makeup if you wear any. Hope it helps!
Get you vit C from a spa/ clinic not a drug store/ clearance @ Winners etc. If you are paying $10-$20 for it - that's what you will get. The price reflects it's quality. (Usually)
I heard that if you use vitamin c that you need to be aware of it being a certain color to make sure it’s the right stuff. So it’s an orange or brownish type color and that you should always put sunscreen on after because if you don’t then it can cause sun damage. Is that correct?
@ArYaMdi , people do use Vitamin C and Niacinamide together, it not recommended tho, the efficacy isn't as good , but products like Naturium and others have combined A LOT of ingredients together , guess it depends on the Vitamin C youre using or mixing , there's a Lot out there to pick from, for me L-Ascorbic w/ ferulic and E works best for me, but its a highly unstable form of Vit C , ❤❤❤
@@walkingbyfaith2885spanish: se podría usar vitamina C y Niacinamina de forma alternada? Es decir, un día vitamina C y al siguiente Niacinamina. De esa manera no se combinan directamente...
I've used it for about a year but it's not really comfortable and I didn't see any difference. Now all I use is a squalane cleanser, suncream, bha 2x per week and retinol and moisturizer at night.
Isn't vitamin c photosensitive? How does it work on the skin during the day? Also, how does it reach the live cells of the skin that are below the surface?
Hi I have a question, I'm an Indian and we tend to test out alot naturally sourced facepacks and remedies for better skin. I would like to know what are the benefits of a Vit C formulation(serums or skincare) vs utilisation of lemon/ lime juice directly to the skin. I've heard using lime juice directly on your skin is quite harsh so I used to mix it with honey and match green tea and apply it on my skin for 15 mins to achieve really amazing results. It lightened any hyperpigmented spots, reduced acne inflammation and helped balance the sebum production of the skin. Overall I had much more supple and blemish free skin better than using skincare products formulated for those properties. How would you rate the two and I also wanted to know is it better to utilise Vit C through dietary means rather than topical application because in my opinion it really doesn't do much.
It's ideal for the morning, it needs to be absorbed by your skin first, it will oxidize in the sun if not in protective packaging, vitamin c is best used in the morning, retinols at night
It could be the formulation , I have acne prone skin. Affordable and stable absorbic acid vitamin c without alcohol and irregular textures are hard to come by. If I had to choose one it would be Timless vitamin c . Other vitamins c I use are derivatives. I combo them , my favorite ones have been: -Bubble Day Dream 20% Sodium Ab Phospate (Has ceramides, transexamic acid, alpha Arbutin, licorice, and this vitamin c type prevent breakouts with its natural antibacterial action) - Inkey Absorbyl Glucoside 15% + egf This vitamin c is a light gel texture known to brighten skin and be very gentle has egf to help rebuild collagen structure and does not break me out -Hyper C My favorite favorite alternative to pure vitamin c with ethylated absorbic acid , Kojic acid at a gentle daily percentage , enzymes for gentle micro exfoliation, bearberry extract which is known to lighten dark spots. Oh between 3-4 . This vitamin c has an 80% conversion rate average in skin ,and known to brighten, lighten, stimulate collagen and fight oxidation. -Peach and lily trans-c Is another one with a vitamin c that uses tetra isopalmitate. Which is easily absorbed and very powerful. 20% concentration. I mention this one Becuase after personally trying CEO 15% vit c , Peter Thomas Potent C, Dr Dennis Gross, Herbavoire, and TATCHA Violet C, this Peach and Lily has the BEST price point per ounce of product. Hope this helps one person .
This is so helpful. I also tried truskin vit c on my acne prone skin. It helped me as my acne was due to inflammation and the product was gentle. I've ordered goodal vit c , will update on it after a month.
May I know why are Vitamin C serums mostly sold in dark brown bottles instead of clear ones? Is it ve cause it oxidises to sunlight or any bright light in general?
Can you develop sensitivity to vit C after years of using it ? I end up having dryness and flakiness around my mouth and nose and even my eyes whenever i use vit c now. I tried reducing the % as well, but doesn't really help
pure vitamin c called "L ascorbic" can be so irritating because it's the main form and the unstable one but vitamin c has many derivatives that are milder and stable like THD and many more. vitamin c is like a country but has different states so it's never specific if you just said "vitamin c"
I rarely wash my face with cleansers and pit so much stuff on it, and i look a lot younger without makeup. Makeup is the thing that will make you look older than you are, thats the secret 😮
To see the real difference, you would have to take a picture of you in 5 years without using it. Vs a pic of you in 5 years having used it. And that’s impossible. Just gotta trust.
I wonder if it’s actually your skin purging rather than breaking out? I’ve heard that “actives” can cause this to happen. I don’t know if the issue clears up with a bit of perseverance rather than stopping altogether. It might be worth looking into. Good luck 🤞🏻
