I love Goks easy asian cooking, but I also love his superb array of tea cups and mugs on those metal shelves..... where did he get them. As an avid tea drinker I would love that display to show off my mugs and pots too....🙏🥰

Why the negative comments??? GOK is amazing & stresses that it’s his personal recipe!!! Don’t watch if you are negative 😡😡😡

It's about cultural appropriation esp if it comes from a youtuber influencer. It's not about his recipe (which we re not interested in) or whether he is amazing, it is the misleading title that can mis-educate those who knows little about rendang.

I love it when people cook our local Asian food, whether it’s the authentic version or not. “Cultural appropriation” is bandied about so much these days. Every household in Malaysia, Indonesia or the Philippines has their own version of our local dishes so why not other people around the world?

Maybe original rendang is from Indonesia...but it has been spreading to Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei...and each countries has their own taste...own specialties...who cares about the origin...its has become global...but if Indonesian still want to be recognised as the origin country of rendang...it's ok...no problem and who cares

Everybody have their own rendang. Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei and it is variant from races to races. Common it is 2021 and people still fight over origin of rendang? Pathetic

Rendang is Indonesian. Plz don't claim it as peranakan. You ppl keep on claiming everything is peranakan. Next thing you know you all gonna claim vindaloo is peranakan.
    We don't sear the beef.
    There is no anchovies.
    Don't basterdized this glorious food.
If u want to cook it learn it properly.

Ahmad Mujahid apparently everything in Malaysia is peranakan. if you watch any non local cooking shows whenever these mat sallehs go to oustide, they "host" always brings them to these "peranakan".. nasi lemak? peranakan.. nasi dagang? peranakan? laksa? peranakan.

Rendang is a quint essence Malay-Indonesian dish esp the Minang people. At least appreciate the culture of the food before u learn how to cook the food.
