One of my favorite characters was a Talos dedicated Zelot Barbarian. He was origionally a pantheist, but the party's bard decided to play a little prank and use a few spells to impersonate Talos, which was the only god he remembered my character mentioning, and telling my character that Talos was upset and needed a proof of dedication. My terrified character then called for the Bard to attend him. -Bard: "What do you need?" -Barbarian: "I have been given a command by Talos. Do... do you still have healing spells?" -Bard: "Yeah. Why?" -Barbarian: "Good." (PROCEEDS TO RIP OUT HIS EYEBALL FROM HIS OWN SOCKET WHILE SHOUTING OATHS OF LOYALTY TO TALOS) -Bard: "What have I done!?"😨
I made a campaign idea where a Storm Giant denounces his god causing Talos to take advantage and make a deal. The Storm Giant would become Talos’ chosen who would rebuild the giant empire and in exchange Talos would give him unrivaled power, of course a Storm Giant Tempest Cleric is terrifying
A Talossan tempest cleric is fun. You get the Call Lightning spell at lvl5, which you could use to consistently Call Down the Thunder in your role as priest.
I would like to thank you, firstly. I've been following your videos a lot about the gods of the Forgotten Realms. And I was eagerly awaiting the video about Talos. I'm currently GMing the adventure Dragon of Icespire Peak (and Beyond), and I needed a little more lore about Talos and Myrkul. Your videos helped a lot. I will continue to follow the channel.
Nice! Talos is a powerfull god, that is severly underrepresented in the discussion. I love about him the purity of purpose. He is just wants destruction, nothing more, nothing less.
This one took a while but is a great video! In my campaign, the players currently are at odds with two sons of Talos, so thank you for the magic items I could possibly use against them 😈 Also, I am curious about one thing... Have you ever heard about Zarus?
I love your videos, you should definitely do Correlleon next the god and father of elves! I have a player who worships him and unfortunately i don't have enough time to do research of my own and a video would be amazing pretty please
@@Altonraen yep any race can worship any god, the gods treatment of Them may vary tho depending, like Grummsh god of orcs is gonna have words if the worshiper is an elf, if ur playing a more classical dnd fantasy game
Technically speaking... yes. Practically? When speaking about Forgotten Realms... There are gods that hate other races and look at themselves as superior. Gruumsh would be unhappy with elf as a worshipper as LegendLore mentioned above... Lolth would look down upon any non-drow, non-female worshipper... Kurtulmak would be upset with gnome worshipper... And while these gods could somehow, somewhat accept such worship, if the person would prove themself... There are also gods that would NOT accept a worship from anyone other than their own race... Looking at you Zarus (god of humanity)

legit makes him the perfect villain for raiders and pillagers with no sense of mercy, excellent enemies for PCs :)
Love Talos, thank you for this video
I think a Bladesinger would work too as Mage Rage

Is this the same Talos from Skyrim?
@@SilverScribe85 no this is Talos from Dungeons and Dragons

I mainly asked because both characters have the same name
