I bought the first Bluetooth Casio about 9 years ago, the EQB-500D-1. This was before I started collecting watches. I have worn it about 8 years straight. Did everything with it. The quality of this solar watch is amazing, so is the advanced movement. I trust Casio more than any other brand to deliver quality watches.
The Casio Oceanus, Citizen Chronomaster and GS 9F lines don’t get enough credit among watch enthusiasts because of the anti-quartz snobbery, although they are fantastic watches.
@@JRMcGrail If I lived in a place with atomic clock radio signal, I would choose the S100. Just wears better as it is slightly smaller imo. As I live in Australia and we have no atomic clock signal, I would choose the T200 as it will sync to your phone with Bluetooth.
I have the S100 and the advantage there for just a little more is titanium (but no Bluetooth) which really adds to the comfortable wear as it’s so light. Completely agree that as you go up the price range they become pretty awful with busy chronograph dials and crazy prices. No idea what that’s all about and blue blue blue seems to be the theme of the Oceanus range. So yes not great if you don’t like blue. I own the green version of this watch for two years now and I love it. Casio don't specify it but I believe there is a hardening coating on the steel. After two years there is no mark on it, and this includes the clasp. But I agree about the latter. It's the worst part of the watch.
My two TAGs (early 90s and late 00s) both have pressed clasps. I actually like the much thinner fold and maybe the bracelets have enough weight to stop them feeling unbalanced.
@hattyfarbuckle Yeah, but the issue with this Oceanus clasp is the outer shell. It gives off a rather cheap impression and it sounds a bit rattly, it certainly doesn't match the rest of the watch.
I have 2 Oceanus watches. I’ve has a OCW S100 for over a year and I just picked up an OCW T5000 (I wanted a square watch). Both watches are titanium, and the finish work on the titanium is fantastic. As a matter of fact, it’s really close to my GS SBGA413. The T5000 has a dial that’s a bit busy for my tastes, but it not a deal breaker. The S100 on the other hand is about as close to a perfect daily wear watch as I can imagine, it’s a no fuss unit with a solar quartz movement (no changing the battery and compromising its water resistance) that has Radio time setting, automatic dst, and a perpetual calendar so you never have to futz around with setting it. Casio uses a proprietary coating on the metal, and my S100 is scratch free. And it looks great on the wrist. I have too many watches (according to some folks in my life lol), and there is something magical about the mechanical marvels called watches that make me prefer my automatic and mechanical watches more that these. But If all you want is a wristwatch that is functional and good looking, look no farther than a lower end Oceanus.
I have a T200 and absolutely love it. The level of polishing is better than anything I've seen by Tissot, Hamilton, Mido, or Certina. Watches that generally cost more. That being said I have seen the more expensive models up close and the amount of sparkling reflections you get off those are next level. Those watches sparkle like diamonds under a light. Definitely not for anyone who prefers to go a little under the radar. If you want a watch that's going to impress you? A high end Oceanus is seriously hard to beat.
I had the light blue version and really liked it. It's one of the few watches I've flipped that I'm considering re-buying. I agree that the rest are too complicated & expensive. I wish they'd make more simple three-handers.
Had my eye on one of these for a while and so have watched all the vids on UA-cam. Got to say yours is the best. Your use of acute-angled macro is very good and opens up the watch's details. I'll be keeping an eye on eBay in the coming weeks lol
This T200S is the oceanus that most people refer to outside japan really, with maybe a few others like the S100 or this one in green also being mentioned. There is a lineage model LCW-M100TSE with some extra quirks like a small digital screen, that overall serves much the same purpose as this oceanus but at an even lower price, without the expensive case polishing and being in titanium.

Good choice , I have that very same watch ,,, wish I could have got it on a bracelet but I did put it on a nice custom strap..!!! Have a good Christmas
Perfect budget watch for those just getting into the hobby. My only gripe with the Oceanus watches is the "OCEANUS" text on the dial which for me breaks the simple look of the dial. I wish they just stuck with the shark fin and Casio text
This model is actually available on Amazon Prime in the US for $388. It's a little more than what you paid, but it's 2 day shipping, and we don't pay import taxes.
I have the S100 which I think is a more elegant design, albeit on an integrated bracelet and lacking the bluetooth functionality. Fantastic watches, every self respecting watch nerd should have one of these in their collection, if only to set their other watches by.
The Titanium S100 is possibly the best balance of quality, accuracy, materials, and sheer value for money it is possible to buy in the watch world. The T200 is a close second, marred only by the use of stainless steel in my opinion.
I purchased this model exactly a year ago. It was quite a punt as I purchased it without trying it first as it had to be imported from Japan. It sits as the lower end of my collection from a price point of view but I love it for travelling and accuracy. The majority of my watches are mechanical and it’s always nice to have a reference piece. I immediately removed the bracelet and added a rather nice nylon strap from watchgecko so I can’t comment on the wearability of the bracelet
I owned the black PVD coated OCW-S100 which i thought was a one watch collection piece which had most of the same functionality bar Bluetooth. As for the ‘blue’ I think blue is the ‘mascot’ colour of the Oceanus range.
I agree, the one you have is the best looking, but with a 6.25" wrist, I won't be picking this one up. If Casio ever gets one of these at about 37mm with L2L 44mm or so, I'll be admiring yours from a distance. (Sigh)
I wouldn't be complaining about the least expensive version being the one you want :). Aside from that bracelet, there isn't much that can touch the specs of what you get with Casio.
I've looked at this model Oceanus (and the S100) for a couple of years now, and recently became aware of the SBTM341 from Seiko (which uses the same movement as some of the budget Seiko Astron models like the SBXY031). I'm torn s to which I like best and want to buy, but I'll probably go for the SBTM due to the slightly smaller size and Titanium build. That said, I think watches like this make perfect daily wear watches due to solar quartz and radio timekeeping, and good travel watches for the same reason.
I 100% agree regarding bracelet adjustment. Screws are the best, split pins are fine at lower prices, pins and collars are fiddly for the sake of it and I don’t think they offer enough extra security to justify the PITA they are to adjust 😅
Lovely watch, it's just at the size where I would need to try it on first as some can look too big on me, thus the JDM aspect means it may not be easy to return and certainly I wouldn't find it on the high street. Such a pity.
And has indices like diving boards, love my S100, as I prefer titanium. Also, tough solar and tough movement similar to Gshock tech, made in same airtight facility that has a computer check for quality control on each and every part. Oceanus is another example of Casio keeping its best for the Japan market only, as these are JDM only.

@@Unlucky1776 Yes, it's a very good-looking watch but it also has so many good and well thought out features; for example, the two stages of "power-down" when you put it in a drawer or other very dark space. I like that Seiko he compared it with at the end as well. It's amazing how much you get for your money with either of them.
If this was 36 or 38mm I would definitely be buying one but as it stands this is far too big for my terminally skinny wrist. I would love to know if atomic watches actually have to be so large.
Absolutely amazing that this Oceanus has the same battery feature as the F.P Journe Elegante. Goes to show how much of a rip off some of his watches are lmao
@@Unlucky1776 If you are not afraid of putting in a bit of elbow grease, you can always go the EBAY route and buy an aftermarket one. You will need some sanding and polishing skills, but you can easily bring one to the same quality if you're willing. On average they cost around $25 with the more expensive ones needing less work. But yeah. long story short. Rolex oyster bracelets use a 9mm link in the center to connect the clasp. this happens to be the exact size as oceanus bracelets. least this one.
I've got a 2nd hand one. It came already paired. I wanted to use radio signal but couldn't figure it out so had to pair to phone. Any idea how to unpair to use radio signal? It's not in user manual I agree about the clasp, it also doesn't hang well....
I read somewhere !! When I hold down the A button, the second hand only ever points to C, and never RC. I've unpaired the watch from my phone via the app, and it still points to C, searching for a Bluetooth connection. I've left it unpaired for a few days hoping it will start looking for radio signals instead, but no luck. Synchronisation check is always an N. I've had a Lineage waveceptor in the same area and it picked up the time signal without any trouble. I'm sure the Oceanus can too, but it's more interested in looking for a phone. EDIT: I've figured it out! This isn't in the manual. To wipe previous bluetooth pairings (the app does not do this properly): pull the crown out to two clicks, hold the A button for ten seconds and the second hand should point to C. After this, click in, hit A again, and the hand will point to RC. OR 😀 To get the watch to forget the last phone it was paired with: Pull the crown to the second click Hold button A for at least 10 seconds This deletes the pairing information, the hand should point to C Now push in the crown. If you trigger a manual sync now the second hand should point to RC
@@GusAudibert annexing! Thank you so much! I will try this when I am back in range and let you know how it went! Thanks very much, I've been trying to figure this out for a year!
There's no watch that I have ever seen that comes close to Casio Oceanus T200/S100 quality for anywhere near their price point. The only negatives are 1. There are no on-the-fly microadjustments, and 2. It's not sold abroad.
I just noticed that this watch has the European CE marking and the UK UKCA marking on the back but Oceanus are Japan only watches. That's weird that they'd spend money on testing and paperwork to then make it Japan only. Maybe it was originally meant to be an international watch?
The specs for Oceanus don't say anything about Bluetooth... not until the 5000... so not sure you got that correct on that 100 (though i dont own one so cant confidentially call you out on it. Personally i like the look of the greenish blue T6000SG 2AJR. But just cant see myself spending 700 bucks for a watch that I can get for much cheaper in a wave cepter badge watch. And likely 9 of them for that price. (With batteries that will last 15+ years, easily) Anyways all the features (not materials... no bluetooth, but i dont think that oceanus 100 has Bluetooth, either... you can DL free apps that transmit the time on the correct frequency, regardless) as well as being able to see the day of the week on the 80-140 buck wave cepters. Or the 150-200 buck lineage m100 versions that look exaxctly like the wave cepter 630... in mostly titanium and sapphire glass... with the wave cepter 640 style bracelet. Because the 630 bracelet has zero way to balance out the clasp on your wrist.... and is bulky on small wrists because the extra length just runs underneath itself. As for the 640... i dont like the fake diver ring on it...

I like that Seiko he compared it with at the end as well. It's amazing how much you get for your money with either of them.
@@Treviscoe yea lol I'll probably be dead and they'd still be running
Shows why watch industry is a whole scam and casio exposed them all 😂
Did you mention solar charging ?!
Own a Oceanus SW5000 Manta. It’s a perfect and high quality masterpiece of quartz watches.
Casio grail watch. If only they did 37mm versions.
If this was 36 or 38mm I would definitely be buying one but as it stands this is far too big for my terminally skinny wrist.
I would love to know if atomic watches actually have to be so large.
As George Daniels would say Damn electrician's.
I have 8 inch wrists. Is the Oceanus too big for me?
Not at all....I think it would be a good size
I meant does the start extend to an 8 inch wrist. How many links did you remove? Thank you Gary
Why, oh why, can’t every quartz watch hit the makers the way this one appears to? It’s a beauty and I may have to pick one up.
Absolutely amazing that this Oceanus has the same battery feature as the F.P Journe Elegante. Goes to show how much of a rip off some of his watches are lmao
FYI a rolex glide lock clasp fits on this perfectly.
Really?
@@Unlucky1776 Yes. Makes it super comfortable.
@@Hamlock_Maneuver I'd say I'm gonna check it out but I can't even afford this ATM lmao
Think it a great travel watch.
Doesn’t look bad but I’m pretty peculiar about the second’s hand reaching the minute markers
Lume at the end was hurt by adverts. I wish I could see it better to get an idea of longevity.
Easily all night,it's the most legible watch in the dark I've ever had
This is a grail watch for me.
I've got a 2nd hand one. It came already paired. I wanted to use radio signal but couldn't figure it out so had to pair to phone. Any idea how to unpair to use radio signal? It's not in user manual
I agree about the clasp, it also doesn't hang well....
OR 😀
To get the watch to forget the last phone it was paired with:
Pull the crown to the second click Hold button A for at least 10 seconds
This deletes the pairing information, the hand should point to C
Now push in the crown.
If you trigger a manual sync now the second hand should point to RC
@@GusAudibert annexing! Thank you so much! I will try this when I am back in range and let you know how it went! Thanks very much, I've been trying to figure this out for a year!
I have the same one, best watch I own ,better than my Rolex. Mine is the titanium model and the bracelet has never popped open on me.
Awesome….high praise!
clearly casio doesn't want us to buy them, it is beyond me why they don't sell them worldwide
There's no watch that I have ever seen that comes close to Casio Oceanus T200/S100 quality for anywhere near their price point. The only negatives are 1. There are no on-the-fly microadjustments, and 2. It's not sold abroad.
Yes😎
That one looks the best, the other ones have way too much useless extras..
O Anus, at around 11.57 it's a hoot!
I just noticed that this watch has the European CE marking and the UK UKCA marking on the back but Oceanus are Japan only watches. That's weird that they'd spend money on testing and paperwork to then make it Japan only. Maybe it was originally meant to be an international watch?
I can only afford very inexpensive watches, but my Casio Waveceptor (solar, multiband 6) spends more time on my wrist than any of my other watches.
Yeah my $120 Waveceptor hits the markers perfectly.
Love my S100, always thought the S200 looks a bit ungainly and cheap compared to it though.
(With batteries that will last 15+ years, easily)
Anyways all the features (not materials... no bluetooth, but i dont think that oceanus 100 has Bluetooth, either... you can DL free apps that transmit the time on the correct frequency, regardless) as well as being able to see the day of the week on the 80-140 buck wave cepters.
Excuse me the more expensive Oceanus are not horrible. Go back to the drawing board.
