Good review. Short of Grand Seiko, the Oceanus line is as good as gets from Japan. Overall, they offer fantastic value. I think you would like the Oceanus S100 over the T150 (I have both). It is a more elegant looking piece. The T200 series is a no go for me due to stainless steel.

I love the Oceanus so much that that I wound up with a Citizen Chronomaster instead. Not being snarky. I have the identical watch that came with the second hand and the date wheel misaligned. I was able to fix the date wheel but not the second hand using the procedure in the instruction manual. Any fix for a misaligned second hand that doesn't hit the markers? I understand that this is cosmetic and doesn't affect accuracy but I'm OCD. Thanks
I would suggest you do some more research on Oceanus watches. They are hand Sallaz (Zaratsu) polished and assembled on the Premium Production Line. Rumor has it that they are polished on the same line as Grand Seiko. You also purchased one of the "older", less expensive models with no Bluetooth. I guarantee that if you had purchased the OCW S5000 Manta, your comments would be different. I own one as well as the OCW T-200. They are amazing watches and a great value! UPDATE: I just got the P-2000 ISO rated diver's watch. It is probably my favorite of the three. But they are ALL excellent.
Casio Oceanus OCW-70J. However, be careful that the multi-band radio watch does NOT auto-sync in India. Therefore, you have to sync using a phone app, like explained in this video guide: ua-cam.com/video/jkypmuyw08s/v-deo.html
It's baffling how Japanese companies continue releasing large watches, given Japanese people tend to have very skinny wrists. You would expect their watches to be smaller, consequentially. Plus, at least I think that Casio should create a new brand for their more expensive line that has a different look. Just like Toyota and Lexus, and Seiko and Credor.
"Different look" ? I think Casio is doing an excellent job differentiating their product lines by using distinct design languages (even if the aesthetics are a hit-or-miss for me). Think about it: You could probably guess whether a watch was a G-Shock, or a Lineage, or an Edifice, or an Oceanus even with the logo hidden, and you'd be correct 90% of the time.
@@jasondoe2596 While the products themselves indeed clearly differentiate themselves with the cheaper models, however, most people will not find the value proposition in a $500 Casio. And my main criticism is the sizing of Japanese watches today. The only way to buy a thin digital watch today is purchasing used 80s models, precisely from Casio, Seiko and Citizen. And given that current premium Casio watches are mostly sold in the Japanese market, and they are all big, then those watches look ridiculous in the small wrists of its target audience.
Spot on comment. I've always thought the same. I'd love to have an Oceanus but it's too big and integrated bracelets make it worse. I often see eBay Oceanus's for sale with "it was too big for me" mentioned. I reckon if Casio released some LCW170 sized Oceanus they'd be super popular.
I have the S100 and now that I've seen there is a quick adjust clasp available I'm going to look at retrofitting it to my watch as it's definitely one of the few weaknesses of the older models.
@@BensWatchClub Good to know. Never did get round to getting the quick adjust clasp, but you've reminded me. I guess the noise isn't a big issue unless you like to shake your wrist about the place?
Glad I saw this video. Firstly for taking the titanium lineage off the want list and showing the oceanus range which thankfully I don't have much interest in.
Was able to obtain the JDM model Oceanus OCW-S100 at a reasonable price years ago….all titanium, solar, atomic, 40mm blue dial. The newer OCW-S5000 is intriguing.
I like that casio lineage dial, its like a glass dial or something, and it looks like you can see the reflection of the casio name, reflecting off the back of that glass... really adds that “boy this is a nice watch” later on in ownership... I have a seiko, with black hands, black dial, tips are painted and lumed,.. i had the watch for about 3 weeks before i noticed the outer edge of the hands are actually polished shiney... like, so shiney you can make out the relection of the other numbers... i noticed it on a weird angle in the dark to the lume on the seconds, and thought they had somehow got lume on the side of the seconds hand... was the reflection of the hours lume...
I've got the OCW-T2600, which addresses a lot of the complaints in the review--I love it. 41mm OD, 49mm lug-to-lug. Standard lugs (21mm) so the bracelet can be swapped, more lume, more functions, full titanium with the sliding clasp. All of the complaints in the review are fair and well explained for the model shown, but it's probably the worst Oceanus model. Also Oceanus lume never gets bright, but it lasts very long.
LOL -- I have a solar Casio Protrek ABC-T watch that I adore. Looks like the gorgeous love child between a U-Boat and a Seiko Arnie. Perfect field watch with an actual compass (not low-tech point the bezel to the sun nonsense...), a barometer, altimeter, and thermometer. World time, alarms, perpetual calendar, stopwatch -- everything. And it's solar. Loads of lume and a LED for night. 100m water resistance. And it's the most accurate quartz I have. It is everything a modern traditional watch should be -- with MODERN, useful, electronic complications, no need for servicing, no batteries or USB charging. Damn near perfect watch. And gorgious. And priced properly at $170 US. If we were being logical we'd acknowledge that solar + quartz + integrated circuits is how watches should be made in 2022. Not with gear trains like 1896. That Hyack guy was a marketeering genius.
Proud Casio Oceanus T200SLE-2AJR owner here (JDM, imported from Japan to Western Europe, delivery within a week). Gorgeous mid-blue dial, stainless steel on quick-release leather (both deliberate choices), atomic, Bluetooth, solar, superb Zaratsu polishing, and astonishing all-around finishing. All for less than € 600! Just do it!
Fab review and I’m glad to watch a top quality review of a top quality Casio. I’d also love it if Ben could review the OCW-T200S. It’s been on my watch list for a while and I’m saving up for it. I’m also slightly unsure on the sizing of it as I have skinny wrists too!
I think there’s one citizen you’ll be very satisfied with. I suggest you take a look at AT6080-53L citizen. It’s a perfect daily with crazy specs. Sapphire, perpetual, titanium, quick adjust, 39mm case and more. They hide this option on Amazon but copy paste just the ref number will show up on Amazon. There’s also gorgeous all black AT6085-50E and older version 1 that have black and green dial ref PMD56-2951 . Version mainly have diff dial and case color but specs same. Another version of it is CB0171-89E which was a colaboración between Japanese mont-belle that looks gorgeous. They have few left over at sakura watches website.
Yes, you are spot on! I own a PMD56-2952, with the black dial and yellow seconds hand - a SUPERB watch!! Also, 200m water resist, AND Day Date function. I'm just waiting to see what it does on 29th February! The only slight down side on it, it's Japanese Domestic Market.
Isn't AT6080 a single-band-only radio watch? The owner has to change the time zone to Japan, simulate JJY signal with the ClockWave app to sync, and then change the time zone back.
I need a timer as much as I use the time of day. I carry the lineage Titanium LCW-M100TSE. If anyone wants a lineage without the LCD window, but has permanent small auxiliary dials instead, check out the CASIO Lineage LIW-M700D-1AJF (there is no titanium version however).
ua-cam.com/video/BV3395BaC7U/v-deo.html ^For instance, notice the long unintuitive method to set the initial time and date (because there is no LCD screen). This either adds to the charm or detracts, being difficult to learn.
great video, wrong watch! as a few already mentioned you „should have gone“ with the t200. the case is more elegant and the finish more classy. the deep blue dial is beautiful to look at and catches the sunlight perfectly. you can change the bracelet, I put on a blue leather strap and got a beautiful everyday dress watch…
I still believe that one of the most underrated watches is the Citizen Eco-Drive Royal Oak style stainless steel with these little blue dial or the black dial that is one of the most underrated underpriced watches that exist
They could literally release this in Europe and run Bulova, Seiko and Citizen out of business in that price range even after taxes. The biggest regret I have is not picking one up when I went to Japan because I thought it was superfluous as a quartz watch.
Even the Seiko Astron (the SBXY models) struggles to enter the European market, which is a more renown brand name because of the 1969 Seiko Astron, world's first quartz wrist watch. Oceanus is arguably less known than the Astron outside Japan.
Could you please review the Edifice Casio Honda racing watch I find it super cool but I'm still not super familiar with watches so could you please review it.
I’ve been doing my own homework on Oceanus since seeing this video. The OCW-S100-1AJF particularly stands out as the best value in my opinion and could even be a contender as the only watch you ever need. . Any chance of a review of this model before I take the plunge? There’s not many reviews out there and the ones I’ve found are poor in comparison with yours.
I acquired a used Edifice (EQW-T630YD-1A ) with Multiband 6, Tough Solar, and Sapphire crystal. The SS case was matched with a solid SS bracelet. Other than Japan-only watchs, likw Oceanus, Edifice seems to be the top Casio -brand carried by retailers in the U.S. Not sure about EU.
Great video. The only Casios I own are Quad Sensor G Shocks. My brother swears by the Eidifice models. We both own some of the usual popular Swiss divers but Casios are always in the regular wear rotation when it comes to everyday comfort wear. Never tried an Oceanus but I think I will have to after watching this video.
Casio has many Luxury or Premium Casios. Just look at the G-Shocks there you got the „Iron Man“ for 1500. the GMW 5000 is generally made in Japan and extremely well made for 500 bucks. Casio knows how to make that stuff
Hey Ben, you should review some watches from Festina, I heared they are quite good. Watchshop do good deals for them aswell, especially the F20463/4 model
The stock photos of this model don't do it justice. That said, I still prefer the Oceanus T200's design. I just hope they upgrade that model with that new clasp.
Surprised you didn't mention the connection to Grand Seiko. Oceanus cases are made by the same factory (owned by Seiko) that makes GS, high end Seiko, Casio MR-G, and Minase cases. The Oceanus case is zaratsu polished, which is astonishing at the price. I have a T200 and could only see very minor difference in case finishing compared to my GS Snowflake under high magnification. To the naked eye, there is no difference. I think the T200 would have been the better choice to show off the case finishing. The brushed bezel and sharp angles are very striking, and really makes the hairline transition between brushed & polished surfaces pop. The dial finishing is mediocre, but since the case is the star of the show, I think the T200 would have been a better example of the value, especially considering a zaratsu repolish for a GS is twice the cost of the entire Oceanus.
you should have a look at LCW-M170TD-1AER, it's a bit cleaner design than the m100 but all the same features, and at least my watch came with solid link bracelet. I got mine for 178£
Been loving the content you're putting out. I just bought a watch from a fairly new brand: Forzo. I purchased their Drive King model, with the green trims and cream dial. Would love to see your opinion on this watch!

Thanks
Anyone know what the exact model of the citizen watch @6:02 is? Looks great.
But they are ALL excellent.
yo Ben it's my bday and I just got the efv100d. Its so cool bro
The MRG range is super! Perhaps the G-Shock MRG-B2000B-1A1DR! It's on another level! But you have to spend 5 times more. It's €2500,- .
Hello Sir, any recommendation for Ladie watch? Which Casio model would you suggest??
@@avensCL You absolutely do have a point - and I'd love some smaller watches, as well.
Great video, thanks! Question: Is it possible to change a strap/band on Casio Lineage?
I have the Oceanus T200 because I think it’s the most beautiful of the various Oceanus. It is also the most efficient machine that I own.
I love my Casio Oceanus (OCW-S100-1AJF)!!!! Amazing watch!
I am astounded by the watch. Looking for a place to buy it besides JDM websites. Any suggestions?
Hi, regarding high quality Casios, have you looked at Casios MR-G range?
BTW, nice video.
I have the S100 and now that I've seen there is a quick adjust clasp available I'm going to look at retrofitting it to my watch as it's definitely one of the few weaknesses of the older models.
I have the S100 at the moment - the quick adjust system on this T150 is definitely better. A tad rattly but better for sure
@@BensWatchClub Good to know. Never did get round to getting the quick adjust clasp, but you've reminded me. I guess the noise isn't a big issue unless you like to shake your wrist about the place?
Does t150 bracelet can fit into s100?
Please review this model OCW-S100-1AJF
Dude, your B-roll is absolutely fantastic
I never ever would buy a watch without sapphire glass
Glad I saw this video. Firstly for taking the titanium lineage off the want list and showing the oceanus range which thankfully I don't have much interest in.
Finally. If you have a moment, check Evolvens watches, too please.
Was able to obtain the JDM model Oceanus OCW-S100 at a reasonable price years ago….all titanium, solar, atomic, 40mm blue dial. The newer OCW-S5000 is intriguing.
Same, one of my favorite quartz pieces in my collection.
More casio Oceanus please! So beautiful and functional
Can you review OCW-T2600?

Review a Mathey Tissot automatic. They're suspiciously affordable on Jomashop
I'm sorry if this is covered in the video but what is the blue indicator at the bottom left 'W-R 'Y-N' for?
Interesting content. Regards.
Can you review the MTP-S120?
Do the Oceanus T200! Bonus points if it's the new green dial.
Ben, you know you can pull off the protective plastic cover from your calipers. There's a lovely clear screen underneath.... I know as I have one.
Just do it!
Where'd you buy it?
@@gregory1662 FYI: Sakura Watches has the OCW-T200S-1AJF currently discounted to € 352
@@slowbluesmaster thanks
I just got the Junghans Mega Solar. Incredibly neat watch
Your sponsorship segues are Linus Tech Tips level. Very smooth, my man.
Fab review and I’m glad to watch a top quality review of a top quality Casio.
I’d also love it if Ben could review the OCW-T200S. It’s been on my watch list for a while and I’m saving up for it. I’m also slightly unsure on the sizing of it as I have skinny wrists too!
Hi Ben can you do a review on the watches made by lord time pieces
If anyone wants a lineage without the LCD window, but has permanent small auxiliary dials instead, check out the CASIO Lineage LIW-M700D-1AJF (there is no titanium version however).
ua-cam.com/video/BV3395BaC7U/v-deo.html
^For instance, notice the long unintuitive method to set the initial time and date (because there is no LCD screen).
Oceanus is arguably less known than the Astron outside Japan.
what's the casio shown at 0:03?
You should review an mtg, they are so super cool quality high end Casio watches
Love the integrated end link. Never seen something like this
Could you please review the Edifice Casio Honda racing watch I find it super cool but I'm still not super familiar with watches so could you please review it.
I know the Alba watches are cheaper but it would be nice to see a review on them! Cheers
I have an Oceanus OC-104D 1A, picked it up from jomashop last year, i really like it, as with all my watches just doesn't get enough wrist time
I acquired a used Edifice (EQW-T630YD-1A ) with Multiband 6, Tough Solar, and Sapphire crystal. The SS case was matched with a solid SS bracelet. Other than Japan-only watchs, likw Oceanus, Edifice seems to be the top Casio -brand carried by retailers in the U.S. Not sure about EU.
That song in the background is from ride 4 on xbox dope!lol
please review the stunning white OCW-S4000F-7AJF
Please do the T200😊
Maybe Oceanus could be the high-end brand for Casio, like Grand Seiko is to Seiko. What do you think?
Great video. The only Casios I own are Quad Sensor G Shocks. My brother swears by the Eidifice models. We both own some of the usual popular Swiss divers but Casios are always in the regular wear rotation when it comes to everyday comfort wear. Never tried an Oceanus but I think I will have to after watching this video.
Been thinking to start saving for this watch and this video came out. What are the chances?
I love, that you cover Casio! 😄
Ben, that model at 11:02 looks gorgeous. I would love to see a review on that one. Reminded me in style of the Overseas by Vacheron Constantin.
That is the T-200. Fantastic watch for $450!
Casio has many Luxury or Premium Casios. Just look at the G-Shocks there you got the „Iron Man“ for 1500. the GMW 5000 is generally made in Japan and extremely well made for 500 bucks. Casio knows how to make that stuff
Yeah I don't get why the MRG range is not mentioned.
Hey Ben, you should review some watches from Festina, I heared they are quite good. Watchshop do good deals for them aswell, especially the F20463/4 model
Looks a lot nicer than the lineage to me, I like the blue bits..
What do the buttons do on the analog model? I don't see a chronograph...
I got mine for 178£
they should release a smaller 35mm version!!!!
What model is this?
Oceanus T150.
Been loving the content you're putting out. I just bought a watch from a fairly new brand: Forzo. I purchased their Drive King model, with the green trims and cream dial. Would love to see your opinion on this watch!
A very nice Timeteller.
I could life without the roman 12 too! Imo its not good for the overall design.
I think Roman numerals on a watch is a bit dated. No pun intended.
Dear Ben, are you biased against Casio G-Shock? It's simply the affordable digital watch holy grail. My wrist is 6,5 inch and wears great you should at least give it a try, they are very affordable
I love my Oceanus. It's a gorgeous watch and does a lot for the $450 I paid for it.
Very nice video and watch !!! I'm actually looking to buy a watch from Discovery Japan, but the prices seem a bit sketchy ... anyone has any experience with them buying from Europe?
