Hello Mike & Jenn, We just returned on Sunday from a week at Memories Flamenco, what a BEAUTIFUL place !!! The beach is breathtaking!!!!The staff were AMAZING, they made our stay VERY enjoyable. Julie and Jenny in the buffet were the BEST. We miss them already!!! The bartenders, servers and grounds keepers were WONDERFUL too! The resort is alittle rundown, but they were continuously repairing and working to improve during our stay. Our room was always very clean ! The food is so so... took a day or two to figure out what was good and what to avoid. They ran out of eggs and butter one day, so we just had to adjust. Not the end of the world !!!! The beer, rum and hospitality NEVER ran out! We didn't do the diamond club and were still VERY satisfied with everything. Just wanted to thank you both for all of the videos that you have done about Cayo Coco. They are all very honest and informative! Just before leaving I made sure to go to The Cigar Bar and signed your guest book :) Hoping to return to Cayo Coco in the future. Thanks again !!!!
We just booked Memories Flamenco based on your UA-cam videos. We are an average couple that just want to get away for a bit of peace and quiet. I know we won’t be disappointed. We fly out January 31. I will be back in touch when we get back.

It is a beautiful hotel, I've been there and for the price you paid the returns are great. It is a very familiar hotel, shosen by families with little kids, very safe and healthy environment. The beach is beautiful. Recommend for everyone

We plan on going End of Feb, get out of the cold. Will be there 2 weeks. It would be good to have a video of what to expect out of pocket here. IE tips, products to give away (does everyone give tooth brushes for instance... ) etc. I don't plan on converting our $CAN is that going to be an issue with loonies and toonies? Great video you got me pumped by our upcoming vacation with the family.
I usually just give $5.00 tips I typically have the same services everywhere and I just tip like every other time , Kind of thing!! But loonies and townnies works
Great video man. I've been to memories many times. Every time I heard shortages talk and I only ever experienced it a couple of times. The issues were fixed in a few days too, so it wasn't an issue. Vacation is all what you make it :P Nice editing.

yes, all items in all Cuba are hard to come by, so honestly if your allowed to put it in your luggage bring it. Make sure to check the Cuba customs list. Never bring forbidden items. have fun

So jealous! In March there was no bread until day 4 , no cheese , snack bar had fries and hot dogs and they were off and on out of beer. Beautiful beach. Glad they’re back on track!
Just back from 4 nights at Melia Jardines, great trip , weather good, People fantastic as always. They are still dealing with shortages, it will take awhile for them to get fully back on their feet. Wonder how the other resorts are dealing with the issue. Snorkelling stingray sighting just off the beach.

I bring CDN $5's and $10. and also USD $1 bills they all work the best lunch and dinners i typical tip with $5 or $10 depending, and $1 USD for drinks every so often. I love the Cuba videos. So much better than seeing the pictures/videos on the travel sites. You get a real feel for the location and an honest review. I hope to do some in the future as well. I feel there are not enough Cuba resort review videos
His reviews are not honest. He was upgraded for free to Diamond Club and has a golden branclet .of course his review will be positive.... He paid 700$ but wasn't a regular hotel guest because they upgraded him to DC. Shame on you.

The place looks like a great bargain. However, I usually steer clear of places that are "family friendly". No interest in kids shrieking and screaming all over the place.
A comment & a question. I've been to Cayo Coco a bunch of times, actually going to the Pullman end of January 2023. There's a new resort that just opened up in the area available through Air Canada called the Grand Asto Cayo Paredon. You fly into the Jardines del Rey Airport, but your bus takes you to Cayo Paredon not Cayo Coco. It's about 45 minutes from the airport. Just wondering if you would consider going there for a review? I think you'd be the 1st youtuber to upload a video of it.

Mike has a video walking from the Flamenco to the Caribe. I think he mentioned that it took him ~1.5 hrs. Now the distance is ~4 times thus you should plan for whole day to return.
Love your blog, so candid and informative. We have just booked 7 days March 21 2023...so excited. We notice that you always upgrade to Diamond club but seem to be in the standard room. My question is , can we upgrade to Diamond club and not pay the cost of a suite as we don't require that much space. In other words, can we keep the room that is included with our package at 00 cost and just pay the added amount for Diamond club? which hopefully would not be $70 a night pr person. As for Diamond Club!!! All the rooms are the same!!! The only upgrade you can do is get a suite, There is a video of it in ore of our vlogs, as for the rooms they are all standard, text Rosie a few days before you fly out and ask for Building 2 or 3 OceanView

Beautiful! Flamenco is one of my favourite resorts in Cuba, but I have not been there in a few years. I'm super jealous of that deal -- we definitely don't see those prices from Winnipeg anymore! Looks like they've done a great job maintaining (if not upgrading) the place. This is probably where we'll go this winter *IF* we can find a week that still has Diamond Club available.
Just came back waiting for your latest as we met there. Place is infested with flies and mosquitos. People are great and tried their best. Certainly not the same place that many have experienced. Shortages are back. No wine no cups for drinks just disappointing. If you plan a visit now don't wear shorts and take lots of repellant. Flights are deeply discounted. Unfortunately we paid full price
Thank you for mentioning wheel chair accessibility although it looks like it might be tricky to maneuver a manual chair, lol. Do the buildings have elevators? Also, it looks like it is very far from the beach to the ocean. I can walk some distance but it is much harder on uneven surfaces. Do you find this resort to have a lot of walking distance between say the rooms and restaurants, beach etc? Do you (or anyone reading) know of a more senior friendly resort? A smaller, quiet compact resort would be perfect, lol, if such a place exists. Have never been to Cuba but live in Oshawa, Ontario and it seems like an affordable place to holiday.
Memories Caribe is a much smaller resort and easy to get to the beach with a wheelchair I’m heading there in 2 weeks to make some videos and I will show wheelchair access
How hard is it to get clean drinking water at all hours of the day? and would it be worth it to bring extra condiments? How much should you bring for tips over a week?
Drinking water is plentiful, i lug a mug, or have them refill my water bottle. The resort i was just at, newest video, lots of Condiments. I like to tip, but tip what you wish $5-10-15 per day or what ever is in your heart

I saw a deal to get to this resort for $600 CDN per person x2 for one week including flights and transits to and from airport. It would be my first time traveling to a resort and one of few times traveling in general. Seems like a great deal, even if the weather (and food) isn't perfect this time of year.

I would say no!!! They struggle from day to day with basics like bread and wheat flour products!!! Maybe in Mexico they would offer that or very high end but I haven’t seen it anywhere in my travels in Cuba

I will be making a website soon and I will be listing all the deals I find. The only problem is they sell out fast. great video again.....thxs for the updates...we are thinking about a cuba vaction in the new year..we went to punta cana majestic mirage last feb....we got a great deal,,,now the prices are unreal and cuba looks way more affordable......yes its alot differant i see by your videos than say punta cana and a 5 star resort we stayed at but honeslty it was way above my scale lol we are simple hard working people from ontario.....looking for some sun ..again in winter keep up the great work ...if you ever get board lolcheck out he videos i made from our stay at the majestic..day 1 to day 7 lol
Have been at the resort 2 weeks ago. Very poor service and the place is so dated. Would not suggest anyone to go there. The ribs and rice are very dry, mostly pork that not possible to chew. No sea food. The order at the bars takes for ever. Every day something is out.
all buildings at this resort had sewage backup issues, specifically building 2 an 3 which were the "Diamond Club". We were a group of 45ppl and no room had toilet paper, or clean towels or bedsheets and there was no food (not a surprise). Plastic cups for drinks were being reused, no beer, no wine. So many Russians and sex trafficking groups, do not leave your children unattended, they're EVERYWHERE.
I was there in April for 1 week thank goodness. Got food poisoning due to hundreds of flies in all the restaurants ,covering all food. Shower didn’t work, toilet didn’t flush, and tap in sink leaked. Stay home. Save your money. Cuba is not ready for tourists. Been so many times but will not ever go again. All the staff have their hands out for tips and still don’t give any service.

When you go out for south, it is for the beach mostly, and beach in Cuba are hard to beat. Don't be afraid go outside the hotel and try some locals.

@@Finding-Fish you said the resort was full this week (or maybe it was last).....I'm assuming it's fully booked when I'm there prime travel week over Xmas. Was there any issue with over crowding at the pool or beach? Lack of chairs etc? Long lines?

I was there the first part of December!!! You won’t have an issue, not everyone can afford to travel at or before Christmas “hense the seat sale”

The place looks like a great bargain. However, I usually steer clear of places that are "family friendly". No interest in kids shrieking and screaming all over the place.
Memories caribe is adult only with the most amazing beach I’ve ever seen. Has a coral reef to the left of the resort just past the next resort
A comment & a question.
I've been to Cayo Coco a bunch of times, actually going to the Pullman end of January 2023.
There's a new resort that just opened up in the area available through Air Canada called the Grand Asto Cayo Paredon. You fly into the Jardines del Rey Airport, but your bus takes you to Cayo Paredon not Cayo Coco. It's about 45 minutes from the airport. Just wondering if you would consider going there for a review? I think you'd be the 1st youtuber to upload a video of it.

Flamenco or Caribe?
Can I walk from the Pullman to the flamenco along the beach? I don’t mind having to wear beach shoes and doing a little climbing! Thanks for the video. I’ve watched a few of them so far

Mike has a video walking from the Flamenco to the Caribe. I think he mentioned that it took him ~1.5 hrs. Now the distance is ~4 times thus you should plan for whole day to return.

We notice that you always upgrade to Diamond club but seem to be in the standard room. My question is , can we upgrade to Diamond club and not pay the cost of a suite as we don't require that much space. In other words, can we keep the room that is included with our package at 00 cost and just pay the added amount for Diamond club? which hopefully would not be $70 a night pr person.

Beautiful! Flamenco is one of my favourite resorts in Cuba, but I have not been there in a few years. I'm super jealous of that deal -- we definitely don't see those prices from Winnipeg anymore! Looks like they've done a great job maintaining (if not upgrading) the place. This is probably where we'll go this winter *IF* we can find a week that still has Diamond Club available.

Just came back waiting for your latest as we met there. Place is infested with flies and mosquitos. People are great and tried their best. Certainly not the same place that many have experienced. Shortages are back. No wine no cups for drinks just disappointing. If you plan a visit now don't wear shorts and take lots of repellant. Flights are deeply discounted. Unfortunately we paid full price

Thank you for mentioning wheel chair accessibility although it looks like it might be tricky to maneuver a manual chair, lol. Do the buildings have elevators? Also, it looks like it is very far from the beach to the ocean. I can walk some distance but it is much harder on uneven surfaces. Do you find this resort to have a lot of walking distance between say the rooms and restaurants, beach etc? Do you (or anyone reading) know of a more senior friendly resort? A smaller, quiet compact resort would be perfect, lol, if such a place exists. Have never been to Cuba but live in Oshawa, Ontario and it seems like an affordable place to holiday.
Memories Caribe is a much smaller resort and easy to get to the beach with a wheelchair

How hard is it to get clean drinking water at all hours of the day? and would it be worth it to bring extra condiments? How much should you bring for tips over a week?
Drinking water is plentiful, i lug a mug, or have them refill my water bottle. The resort i was just at, newest video, lots of Condiments. I like to tip, but tip what you wish $5-10-15 per day or what ever is in your heart

I saw a deal to get to this resort for $600 CDN per person x2 for one week including flights and transits to and from airport. It would be my first time traveling to a resort and one of few times traveling in general. Seems like a great deal, even if the weather (and food) isn't perfect this time of year.

They struggle from day to day with basics like bread and wheat flour products!!!
Maybe in Mexico they would offer that or very high end but I haven’t seen it anywhere in my travels in Cuba

When it come to seat sales it’s all about timing and knowing when to book.

great video again.....thxs for the updates...we are thinking about a cuba vaction in the new year..we went to punta cana majestic mirage last feb....we got a great deal,,,now the prices are unreal and cuba looks way more affordable......yes its alot differant i see by your videos than say punta cana and a 5 star resort we stayed at but honeslty it was way above my scale lol we are simple hard working people from ontario.....looking for some sun ..again in winter keep up the great work ...if you ever get board lolcheck out he videos i made from our stay at the majestic..day 1 to day 7 lol

Have been at the resort 2 weeks ago. Very poor service and the place is so dated. Would not suggest anyone to go there. The ribs and rice are very dry, mostly pork that not possible to chew. No sea food. The order at the bars takes for ever. Every day something is out.

all buildings at this resort had sewage backup issues, specifically building 2 an 3 which were the "Diamond Club". We were a group of 45ppl and no room had toilet paper, or clean towels or bedsheets and there was no food (not a surprise). Plastic cups for drinks were being reused, no beer, no wine. So many Russians and sex trafficking groups, do not leave your children unattended, they're EVERYWHERE.

Flight,hotel,food,drinks for 7day for 700$ in December. That's a very good price for winter time .
I was there in April for 1 week thank goodness. Got food poisoning due to hundreds of flies in all the restaurants ,covering all food. Shower didn’t work, toilet didn’t flush, and tap in sink leaked. Stay home. Save your money. Cuba is not ready for tourists. Been so many times but will not ever go again. All the staff have their hands out for tips and still don’t give any service.
