I honestly have to say this brought tears to my eyes. I left Cuba when I was 16 yet I feel 100% cuban. Took me back to my childhood summers spent in the countryside at my grandmas. I love how despite the political turmoil and the economic hardships, cubans always are so welcoming and resourceful, no matter how poor they are. I don’t think you could have captured any better the essence of being cuban from a culinary perspective. Oro, mi hermano, great personality, very transparent and down to earth. A+++
@@AD-lh3jk Yes, when we left Cuba 20 years ago, the cuban government hadn’t impose certain laws that don’t allow cubans to return for 7-8 years. Everytime people mentioned Cuba they said that food was bad at the hotels and I just KNEW as a Jamaican that there’s no way a country with such a rich heritage and traditions would have bad food. Glad to see the real Cuban food. 🇨🇺 🇯🇲 ❤️
Bro you know some foreigners will complain for no reasons. Especially American tourists. I am in vacationing in the Dominican Republic right now and the food here is very delicious. The hotel food is good too. But if you ever want to taste the real country food then you must leave the resort and go to a restaurant.
Man Sonny, your respect for everyone’s culture and history, as well as how you articulate that through your many episodes exemplifies humanity in its purest form. You joke around, but your respect and humility toward those who show you hospitality is something many can learn from. Keep it up bro. Awesome.

As a Canadian, I feel so grateful to have the freedom to travel freely in Cuba. The people of Cuba are beautiful from the inside out. I’m saving this video to watch over and over again. This is one of THE best travel, foodie videos Ive ever watched! I grew up in East LA in a small city called Bell. It was a federal settlement of Cubans with children who arrived in the late 60’s. I Cherished my childhood memories (I’m now 58) of dance, laughter, and food from my new friends. I loved this video.... so many of the families I grew up with have memories that they will never see again. You brought the flavor of Cuba back. Thank you!!! I pray someday Cuba will once more be a shining jewel by the sea....
It only takes US lift the inhumane and genocide blockeade to Cuba and all the Americans should demand it to our government because is not fair what they are doing to Cuban people who is suffering it

LOVE, LOVE, and LOVE this video. The two host and the whole cuban people made it so interesting, so enjoyable, so educational, so fun, and so grateful. GOD bless CUBA and all the cubans, amen.
Thank you with all my heart ❤❤❤
This has to be one of the best shows I've watched on Cuba. And Oro is such a humble and talented host with a great knowledge of his country and his people. He entertained and educated me at the same time. His future is really bright.
The colonizers had three daughters , they were named Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. These sister islands share so much in common like the food, the way of living, and so many things more. These three sisters 👯♀️ are great islands despite of the government… love all of these islands … kisses for you Cuba from your sister island 😘
I've never heard anyone being namer rich port
As a Canadian, I feel so grateful to have the freedom to travel freely in Cuba.
The people of Cuba are beautiful from the inside out.
We hired a private taxi/tour guide who has since moved to Florida, one example is the history of the citrus industry and the children that would be shipped off to work them for certain periods.
Your prime minister is the son of the great ex leader.
Okay I loved this one, I laughed so hard when Oro was drinking. This was such a fun one to watch and you and Oro together is just outstanding and he is so cute. This coming from a old ( lady ). You guys should work together more!
🤣🤣🤣🤣he so cute
When he said his dad doesn't drink but his mom 😂😂😂 he laughed so hard he fell down the steps still laughing lmao
Cubans are naturally funny people.
@@micheledevi5141 it’s true. My mother was a drinker and my grandmother but my dad and grandpa ever drinks.
This is your best episode ever…. I’m Trinbagonian and most of those foods I remember eating as a kid…. I miss that beautiful simple family community live. Thank you for taking me back. I sent your video to my Cuban friends. Merci et gracias
America has had Cuba under siege for so long and have pushed people in to extreme poverty. I respect them so much for showing respect to him and his show. I cant imagine, i would be so friendly in their position
This my Favorite episode ❤....the way you introduce cuisine culture and the humble genuine people of this wonderful Paradise....is off top your best work yet! My #1 country I wish to go too!....thank you ❤
I’m saving this video to watch over and over again.
It only takes US lift the inhumane and genocide blockeade to Cuba and all the Americans should demand it to our government because is not fair what they are doing to Cuban people who is suffering it
It was nice to see Oro again and it was also nice that you incorporated clips from the The Miami episode as well as other clips you did with Oro. To see his homeland this way was not only beautiful but eye opening. Thank you Sonny and Oro for sharing this with us.
I'm not able to travel but this channel takes me all over the world and I'm forever grateful for it! Thank you Sonny! The people of Cuba are so welcoming and lovely. Oro was a lot of fun too!
What an amazing documentary. Made me cry to see my ppl move forward regardless of the struggles. this video makes Cuba seem like a rich country, and though it is at heart, it's not physically or financially. But this was absolutely beautiful to watch
I always enjoyed these videos and Sonny himself is quite funny as a host but Oro takes it to another level. Love his attitude, characteristic and generall how he expresses himself and I absolutely love the dynamics between the two hosts. 10/10 would love to see more of them 😂
Oro is such a great co-host. I love the banter between you two. Funniest moment was when he had rum and spoke to the dog.. "Do you want some buddy? Or do you want somebody?" 🤣🤣🤣
Love this video. Oro is so humble, bright and beautiful effortless funny. Love the chemistry you guys have. But my favorite part was daisy's face when Sonny said he was 22 years old 😂😂
🤣 how old is he?
@@Dallasman214 he was born in 1984 so... about 38 now
That was the funniest part 🤣🤣🤣
Same 🤣🤣🤣. I was dying
Yes 🤣😭🤣 that was a priceless and very authentic moment
Award Winning...

A Well Done Documentary, But Better Yet, The "Essence Of Cuba" Is Honorably Presented.
OMG! Sonny, so far this is your best food documentation for me! You and Oro Man made me think, listen for more , laughed and laughed on your great chemistry! I will watch this over and over and probably fall in love with Cuba and all its worth because like them, I grew up half in the farm and half in the city. I love my humble beginnings, it made me grateful of what I became now.
You both really made this video very informative and entertaining at the same time.
Spent a month in Cuba 🇨🇺 loved it so much and the people are just amazing.... Travelled on my own, safest I ever felt anywhere.... Vinales I just loved, the peacefulness, and the fresh food 😋😋Very kind people.... A country I will definitely return to...... Great episode 👏
Tell me are you an American and did you needed a visa to visit Cuba?
@@dfaro8453 No I'm Irish happily living in Ireland 🇮🇪 and yes just a tourist visiting card, simple to get online..... I met a few guys from the US 🇺🇸 while in Cuba 🇨🇺 and one of them was blown away by the people, the place and the pace, he was actually crying at one stage because he wasted so many years with negative thoughts about Cuba 🇨🇺
@@sholahola2kaiinaoii thanks for your response. I am just like the person who cried when I first visited Haiti and the Dominican Republic. I heard stories, real bad ones, and when I arrived at this two countries, I was welcomed with love. I am sure one day I will have the chance to explore Cuba as you previously did.
@@dfaro8453 Well you are most welcome 😊 how I'd love to go there now this minute 💯 and I'd love to visit Haiti 🇭🇹
The bond with Oro is unexplainable, raw 😇😇.I loveee❤️
One of the best videos I've watched out of the playlist, informative, funny, supportive and a great watch. 👊🏾
I didn't realized it was almost 1 1/2 hr video. While watching it. The time flies by because editing is amazing. There's no boring part. Great job and Oro was awesome part of video. His home sweet home, Cuba. Thank you for the joy it brought to me.
Me encanto mucho!!! I am Puerto Rican, so we share a lot of the same culture. Reminded me of my Grandpa. Loved everything - food, countryside, kind people and the music. How great to have the live music as we so do at home. Truly a wonderful experience. Thank you!
Only been to Cuba once.what can I say I fell in love with the culture and people. My 7 days visit was not long enough.can't wait to go back and explore more of their beautiful island!
im grateful for people like this who keep the spirit and the good side of history alive and show the world what Cuba really is like instead of just the political sides and the sadder sides of Cuba.
Oro is such a pure soul. We love him!!!
People of Cuba have the most beautiful smile I have ever seen; a smile with no regret. So genuine so clear. I am in love with Cuba already. I would visit this beautiful country. One day for sure. Love Lots of Love.
This was unbelievably wholesome. I really enjoyed watching this and I want to see Oro in more episodes. P.s. after finishing the video it was very touching and inspiring also.
My grandma is from Cuba, her mom left Cuba on a boat to Jamaica when she was still a baby. This was really nice to see. I never got to meet my grandma or know any of her family 😢
Same! My grandmother was born in Cuba and left as a child. She was raised in Jamaica.
52:06 "Veinte y dos?" The expression of disbelief when Sonny told Ms. Daisy he was only 22...was hilarious!!! ROTFLMAO 🤣🤣🤣
This has to be one of the best shows I’ve seen in a very long time. The Cuban people are Beautiful, Authentic with remarkable food and Music. It’s some of the BEST in the entire world…Loved this episode!…WELL DONE! I would love to see you visit my Home Land, Puerto Rico🇵🇷
It's s good to see nice prospective of the island
Wathing this episode, makes me want to go see Cuba, the rich culture and delicious food & beautiful people. Thank you Sonny & Oro for sharing yet another great video.
@Millennial Smark nah man, as someone who’s from cuba and has lived in miami, go to cuba to get the full experience. americanized cubans are much different than natives. cubas colors and people and streets is just amazing.
Oro is an amazing co-host! I absolutely LOVE him subtle personality, and he is so genuine. Bring him along to other countries!
I watched it when released in chapters or separated videos, watched it again, and could watch 10 times more in the next months. How wonderful Cuba is!!!
I thought I saw it before but I don't mind watching it again.

this was the best episode!! great team! I hope to see Oro more bc the chemistry is too fun!! this reminded me of those great fun travel shows that comes on tv Saturday mornings!!😀👍
Oro brings out a side of Sonny that is SO fun and playful and makes this such a joy to watch. Ok. I'm finally done making comments. I really love this episode, obvi.
Oro is a great cohost. I’d love to know how you two came together, the chemistry is off the charts! This is the first video I’ve watch of your channel and I’m hooked! As a Cuban American I appreciate how apolitical this was till you reached Havana. However I understand what has to be shown and said approved by Cuban government. Kudos! Instant fan
I love how silly Sonny is and how informative and chill Oro is, they're so enjoyable to watch.
This feels like a very complete food documentary stretching across the whole country. This is one of the best Best Ever Food Reviews.
As a film director, I must confess, your cinematographers are really into the job you have given them, Good job!
Can't get enough of the history, culture&Food details in this channel 🥰
Sameee. I love this channel!
Me too I am hooked
I went to Cuba without leaving my room, this was amazing.
I just love these episodes. So informative yet humble and beautiful 🥂
"super informative" yeah... go to the real cuba , not a fake montage with actors forced by the government to make it look like there is no shortage of food or poverty in Cuba due to comunism
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, with Oro, the journey to Cuba made it lively.
This video is really well made - the way you hold the attention is clearly extremely honed. Incredible work ^^

I'm so close to Cuba and I've never visited. I hope I will be able to visit one day and have a really wonderful experience 🇯🇲❤
This is such a wholesome food review show. I love it. Puts a huge smile on my face!
these two are hilarious lol I love how Oro gives Sonny "are you crazy" look.
Watching this now with Mom and we're both enjoying it😀. These guys are really having fun, plus the production is top notch.
This was an amazing episode. I learned so much about Cuba, their foods, and their beautifully wonderful people.
I love these shows not only the food parts but seeing all the cultures around the world nd how loving people actually are its dope
Top notch contents in showing Cuban culture and food. As a Vietnamese, we love Cuba, we have been brothers for close to 70 years. Thank you Cuba! In the funny side, Oro with rum is so hilarious…🤣🤣🤣
Philippines were colonialized by Spaniards too, and this video is giving me too much happiness. Thanks to your awesome content, hope you and you team are always safe❤️❤️❤️❤️
@Risma ajisona No, just no
You guys killed it. I forget I'm watching a youtube video this show Is so well produced and edited and you guys are hilarious and play off each other so well. I think Anthony Bourdain would watch you guys if he was still with us. Keep it up guys.
I agree wholeheartedly. Great episode.
I hope Cuba maintains it’s authentic lifestyle. Colonization and the internet is ruining most people.
MORE ORO PLZ! Make more episodes with him and sonny, amazing chemistry. Would be hilarious to se them travel around the world!
Sonny, all of the videos you have hosted that I've had the pleasure of watching are among the best food and food culture videos I've ever watched. However, this one in particular was the best IMO. I absolutely drooled throughout the whole video! You are the king of food videos dude! Keep up the excellent work. Patreon on the way....
One of the best, if not the best episode ever! Good job showing us this side of Cuba not a lot of us have ever seen before! Keep it up! 🙏🏻
I absolutely loved when Oro tried Rum at the Fiesta!!!! Hilarious 😂
