#silver #preciousmetals #gold
There are only ever three reasons to sell, (1) you believe a speculation bubble has formed and the price is going to drop dramatically soon, (2) you need to cover some expense in your life, or (3) you no longer are interested in holding physical metals.
You're missing the point of having a savings. You're more of a commodities mindset. I stack precious metals because it's better than the fluctuation of the dollar. And the only time I sell it is when I need to sit there pay for bills like right now I'm debating on how much to liquidate to help my medical bills.
Some advice: I have been only been stacking silver for 2 years. I am Top heavy on Silver planning to Trade for half of my silver stack for gold. Just waiting for ratio on silver to move up little playing the ratio game. I want to be little balance little more silver & some gold for my portfolio. Any advice for new stacker, thanks stackers!!! 🥇🎖🥈
@@JesusGonzalez-oh1nh Only advice is just because the gold/silver ratio is what it is today, and what it has been in the past, is no guarantee of what it will be in the future. You likely will not know when the optimal time is to swap metals, do not hold any regrets if you do not hit it perfectly.
Thank You for Info!!!
NEW VIDEO IDEA:
I’m glad Andrew mentioned foreign gold and sovereigns and being able to buy them for dirt cheap sometimes.
I think a good video you two should do together is buying fractional gold bullion vs sovereign foreign gold. The reason I like this idea is that in my experience 20 francs, bit sovereigns, and German gold mark all have had a better buy and sell spread than 1/10 and 1/4 ounce modern bullion. I can buy 20 gold francs at a $20 premium all day and when I go to sell on average I’m offered a 3%-5% back of spot offer. And that is a better general premium than the fractional gold bullion.
Each have there pros and cons, and I think that would be a great video for you guys.
Go into buy and sell spreads, liquidity, durability because you don’t really need to capsulate coins with copper, etc. a lot of potential out there.
PLUS there are not a lot if ANY videos going over that concept in depth. Plus I think it would bring good opportunity for some of your watches to acquire some foreign gold.
The 3 reasons I'd consider selling are 1) that unexpected expense i can't cover with my savings, 2) turning silver into gold if i feel like I'd come out ahead and 3) to get real property (land/house).
One of the reasons I stack is to get out of the dollar.
You know you can have your collection of praise and use your physical precious metals borrow on it. If you sell all your silver I'd almost bet you you wouldn't get half of it back or what you get out of it ever again the chip companies need the material too bad. And another thing paper money is not back by the gold seal act of 1916 as of the green lettering on the bills. The fed could obsolete the dollar bill and not have to give one person one penny. As long as they don't change the Constitution they have to back coinage.
Everybody gets rid of their coins and they melt them down that guarantees them the justifiably bring digital currency in the United States. With that being said sounds like there's no different than banking online Ken block any transaction they think you shouldn't have. Little kids will have to move 10 yd to buy a phone to download cash app to get paid to mow grass. Oh I forgot everybody will have enough silver to make them automatic lawn mowers they need chips as well.
Regarding 11:24, an American Gold Eagle $50 Coin weighs 1.0909 troy ounces which is 33.93 grams. Its 22 karat gold alloy composition consists of 91.67% gold + 5.33% copper + 3% silver.
I believe a Gold Eagle is 1 nine fine gold (22Karats)
Gold Buffalo is 4 nines Fine Gold (24Karat)
Still subscribed and 👍👍👍👍👍the video the video as always. That's all I have to say about that. Life is good....God Bless
Always appreciate you Big Daddy Hoff!!!
Nicely Done Boys!
I Think What Andrew is Trying To Tell You, Stormy. Is That You should take all those Comic Books and Set Them On Fire 🔥
😂
😂😂
Andrew. I respect how you keep it simple.
If you sell now get ready to buy back at a higher Fiat price. 😊
I was buying silver like crazy 10 years ago. A opportunity came for me to purchase a rental property and I sold all I had AT A LOSS! But since that time I have made much much more on the real estate then I ever would have holding on to the metal. I still buy without the intention of selling but if the right opportunity presents itself I’d sell again.
For me it depends on what I paid for it and how much I'm looking to get out of it because you don't know what precious metals will do and you definitely don't know if something will happen that you will be forced to sale some
Just sell a small percentage to ensure a profit and keep the rest, then buy more if it drops.
Great episode great topic
And for that, you get 👍👍
Im a silver stacker mostly. But i am not married to 1 single ounce i have. Been stacking since 2017 silver was at $13oz. All ive ever bought is bullion rounds and junk. Closest to spot as possible. Since 2019 ive nailed some great times to sell alot of my stack then bought all back plus more when prices dropped. But i dont have any retirement fund. I have kids and hope i can leave them some. But if i can turn metals into profit i dont hesitate. Have accumulated a pretty good pile now. I see some more selling opportunities coming this year and excited. I have no idea what the future will bring but since covid hit ive done alot of learning about stocks and growing what little wealth i have. I will say im alot more hesitant to sell my junk silver. That i truly believe will be very expensive in 10 or 20 years. But my rounds i have zero problem sellling for profit.
I sold our small house in 2019 and upgraded to a larger home and had to sell my gold and other assets in order to pay cash. So I believe it was worth it. I have been buying silver maples ever since.
Gold --- does anyone say "I wish I didn't buy" in retrospect ? I'd like to buy / stack addl gold but at these prices ???
Sell whenever you want don't listen to anyone but yourself. If you need to sell it if not than don't. But that's me.
Here's the correct answer: Not anytime soon.
Sold 1.2 oz of generic gold and 35 oz of generic silver first thing Friday morning and purchased 1 oz 2024 Gold Perth Dragon bar and 40 oz of collector silver (Royal Mint Celebration bars & Luna and the Lion bars) at the end of trading Friday and still had money left over from the morning sale.
Enjoyed the video it's just a few times it was are you talking about silver or gold. Majority of people are looking at silver because that's what they can afford. I'm retired on SS only I'll buy constitutional silver & occasionally Maples or Eagles, usually as a gift to the grands. So I like you need to consider that aspect to draw in a wider audience. 😊
That's an interesting positive spin on American Gold Eagles getting silver and copper included. Though I doubt those extra metals offset the premium difference from other gold like Canadian Maple Leaf coins. Aren't Krugerrands also 22K?
Krugerrands are 22k gold. In gold, 22k and 24k really doesn't make much difference, refiners are happy taking in either. It's on the silver side that pure silver has a great advantage over alloys. Say if refining out the impurities costs $5/oz, that $5 is 0.2% of the value of the gold, but same overhead is 18% the value of the silver.
@@ah5836I get why 90% is less desirable to refiners but i love junk silver so much… something about it hits different than stacking rounds
Something about it being circulating currency (ie real money) in the past might be a part of it
I had to sell a good chunk of my silver stack a couple of years back a family member got sick and later passed away so i had to cover medical bills and funeral expenses, i think the right time to sell is when you need to sell i stack to put money away for a rainy day and dont really get sentimentally attached to my stack
I’m sorry to hear about your loss. It is good you had that money there and it is good you don’t get attached. Too many people get attached to their stack.
Hanging on to my Barbra Bush and Eleanor Roosevelt commemoratives, hot laddies of the White House Collection will bring me some serious bank!
Cheers Brothers🥃
LOL
I just wish I had more of it before these higher prices but I'm still looking to stack.
I put a 1914 d 10 dollar Indian on layaway can't afford to outright buy it lol do what I do
For silver I would bet right now if there is a dip. The businesses overstocked might be having a slow time for silver until the masses catch on.
You really don’t have to sell it you can pond it🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
I urge all to have cash on hand and also an emergency savings account with 3-6 months of monthly expenses. Start with what you can and consistently every month.
I sold a lot of mines and regret it
Can't treat trading physical like you do trading stocks or etfs. In physical, if you sell then the price drops 2% for example, you're losing money rebuying gold after the drop. Trying to speculate and time the market only makes sense if you believe the dip will be more like 10% or more drop.
Yep, it’s tricky business
Best time to sell would be right after war breaks out. Might sound insensitive to say, but metals do tend to spike up right after.
VT247
As long as the crooks are in DC & are running the banks & financial markets I'm holding my metals. Will sell in retirement to supplement income over time.
Could you speak on tax implications when selling silver eagles and 90 percent as opposed to bullion coins and bars. I've heard its best to stick with coins of your own country. I dont know if all sovereigns foreign and domestic are exempt at sale or not. I know eagles are higher premium but would it pay off in the long run tax wise? Or is it affected by the amount sold in one transaction? Explain like I'm 5 lolol Thanks. Loving the new videos too.
I feel like apmex and jmbullion and plenty of other websites (and UA-cam) have all sorts of explanations of the tax implications when selling bullion
From what I understand, gold and silver eagles don’t have to be immediately reported when selling over $10k worth, but you’re still required to personally declare any profits at tax time, like a good citizen would of course. But with other bullion over 10k sold it will be reported immediately or something like that.
I’m not positive about all this and am just some guy on the internet, so do your own research. But that’s what I remember
Hey Matt, do you remember when you were wearing that goofy ass storm troopers helmet😅 just a reminder 😂 we love you bro
lol yep. 🤦🏻♂️
Lmao !!! “ I don’t know where to find that shit” !!! I have said that before to people …🌎🗿™️
Is stormy rocking a gold chain 👀
Yea
My guys
Sell now. I'm buying!!!!!
Sell the rips and buy the dips.
👍
Hope not to sell anything for years to come !!!🌎🗿™️
First...
When your broke because we all know holding precious metals is better than holding cash because precious metals always is immune to bidenomics 🙂
Great podcast Andrew and Matt have a great weekend
Thanks! You too!

Please have this guy on your show ... www.youtube.com/@tedspeakstruth
Never will have that guy on my channel. He spreads false information, one example to be specific was telling Stacking Surfer’s audience that type 2 silver eagles were microchipped. He said this more than once. I held Stacking Surfer accountable and also called out that Ted guy as well as Ron’s Basement for spreading this bullshit. Surfer then had Ted on (you can see it in my community posts) and he completely reversed what he said. He said he had no proof of eagles being microchipped and no way to verify and test this claim. I will not have conspiracy-theorists or fear mongers on my channel just to get views.
@@EmpirePreciousMetals Pout Much 😂
@@EmpirePreciousMetals It is not micro chipped he did not say that he said that there was a contract with Honeywell and the mint that may have developed a tracking system of some kind not a chip. Have you seen his show ?
