You have to admit, Blackout's debut scene makes him menacing and dangerous, as a Decepticon should be. No "made of paper," no pointless potty humor, just carnage and efficiency.

Personally, the whole sequence at the beginning of the film with blackout is one of the most memorable parts of the 2007 film. Although it does have a couple of flaws (that more or less seem like nitpicks to me) but I still enjoy it
The Blackout transformation at the beginning of the first movie is the best transformation in the whole movie series. It has build up and it's slow, you can actually see him transform instead of just shredding to pieces and coming back togheter in robot form like all other transformers.
The CG model looks similar, but Grindor's face has some more sharp angles. He also has different feet and is quite a bit bigger. Its mostly the little details.
Actually, I think the scaling for Starscream and Blackout aren't off that much. The Decepticon helicopter in that scaling picture you showed is actually Grindor, not Blackout. Grindor is a hell of a lot bigger.
The studio series starscream is just a voyager sized upscaled version of the deluxe dark of the moon starscream you received in your most recent PO box video with wrist articulation, more weapons, and a 2007 paint job (no tattoos). Both figures are 10/10 imo.
I actually have the deluxe dark of the moon starscream, and always thought it could've been bigger. So when I heard they were making an upscaled one. I got it faster than you can say "I don't want to go". Also, mould is a 10/10 like you said.
I said it had wrist articulation and the missile launcher weapon. Those are literally the only new things besides the new paint job. I own both of them.
Same thing here, but to be honest, even Micheal Bay said that he didn't liked his movies that much starting with the second one, by his own words from years ago when the movie launched, he didn't liked that the movies took a more mystical/magical turn than he would have liked (or something like that), even if he said that action movies needn't logic and coherency, we can see that he was truly trying to salvage them, the biggest problems were the shity writers that were given to him, and the fact that the Transformers, from the beginning, were made to sell toys AKA make as much money as possible with the littlest funding as possible. On many of his movies there were transformers who were there, but didn't do shit, there was a freaking carrier transformer patrolling Megatron's tumb, why the fuck didn't it transformed to fight him? I remember seeing clear as yesterday a trailer for TF2 were the characters were on an oil rig and a freaking Boeing was transforming right in front of them, and we can't forget the submarine transformer from the last movie which didn't do shit, why? Why all of these didn't appear? Money, there was enough money to do that, but they didn't wanted to give to him enough funding to make them transform and wreck things.
I remember getting a blackout toy from toysRus when younger, the tabs never worked resulting in it not transforming properly, so I sent it back and got starscream instead lol

Voyager Starscream is REALLY good - mine has a slight paint defect which I'm hoping to replace, and the figure is pretty loose - but the looseness can be fixed with some floor polish and the articulation and detail is excellent. He can pretty much do everything you'd expect from a flying Dorito.
I just got the grinder version of this guy and while he’s neat, I honestly don’t feel like he’s engineered as well as the original voyager. Sure this one has more moving part and better molded in details, but I don’t want to transform him because he feels like he’s going snap into little pieces when I do, plus the arms don’t plug in right, the feet are weird, and his joints aren’t super tight. The original voyager may not be as detailed but if you ignore that he still looks pretty much right, while also avoiding the issues this one has, he doesn’t feel like he’ll break from transformation, the feet don’t have the weird bottom panel, the arms aren’t boxes, and he even has a skorponok with a deploy feature where you hit a button and he releases skorponok. Taking that into account, while I like this figure, I don’t love it because it isn’t really a major improvement over the original voyager imo
Fun fact, I have the voyager class Blackout from the first series of toys released when the movie came out, and it does have a gimmick Scorponock "launch" via a spring opened cage below the tail. Even the transformation is similar, but definitely this leader class is the superior one. I think I'll get it.

@@sullywatson6933 The main problem is when the grill is chrome painted. Although to be fair, most variations of the RotF Leader Optimus does use injection color or acceptably durable paint, so there's not much worry about scratches or chipping. and it seems like the actual grill is a bit sunken instead of flushing with the actual soles of his foot
@@sullywatson6933 It did, but on that toy is was much better handled. The grill and the headlights were molded in fairly durable colored plastic, which is far better than the later versions. Not to mention, as far as the original Movie design for Prime, the 2007 Leader class version has the best transformation of them all, with the arms neatly tucked away behind the cab in vehicle mode, the legs taking up the entirety of the hood, and the lights and sounds gimmick not interfering with the figure in any significant way. If nothing else, the only issue I have with the figure is that the lack of a waist swivel, but there really wasn't much they could do in that case.
I came here to watch a review of this before buying it pre-owned. I'm far from being a toy collector or enthusiast or whatever, but I immediately clicked the subscribe button just because of your sense of humor. Keep it up! 😃
That fake butterfly joint issue reminds me of a transformers 2 Megatron toy. It's left arm wouldn't click in to it's place and it would just be there. That was an official Hasbro licensed toy. I had to go back to the store to get it replaced twice. Ultimately I kept the third one which still presented the issue. Actually it's that one 4:00.

I'm rewatching this review bc I really love his alt mode. MH-53J = best helicopter
The left cheek scene is unironically one of my favorite scenes from the original movie ngl 😂
No matter how much people hate you there are some of us that love you
That could not be more true. Also love the chibi stygian zinogre.
why blame the Movie Masterpiece Optimus? ROTF Leader optimus did it as well.
Actually, the first movie prime toy was the start of this whole, grill-feet mess.
i think
@@sullywatson6933 The main problem is when the grill is chrome painted.
Although to be fair, most variations of the RotF Leader Optimus does use injection color or acceptably durable paint, so there's not much worry about scratches or chipping.
and it seems like the actual grill is a bit sunken instead of flushing with the actual soles of his foot
Yeah it’s been a thing since the beginning of the movie toys
But..
It has the damn grills for the damn legs and I find it annoying
With all your editing, why haven't you made a YTP yet?
That's a good idea but I don't think that will happen with jobby the Hong in a video but who knows what will happen 😉

“That’s a good trick” I started to fucking cry from laughing
I came here to watch a review of this before buying it pre-owned.
I'm far from being a toy collector or enthusiast or whatever, but I immediately clicked the subscribe button just because of your sense of humor.
Keep it up! 😃

This was the video that introduced me to the great Jobby The Hong channel.
"Mastapeece"
I'M CALLING DUNKEY ON THIS ONE
