Honestly it's so cool to see him so happy and comfortable in his own skin like this. He was so clearly having a miserable time post-American Slang with Gaslight along with his divorce. Seeing him like this brings me joy, man.
I finally got to see them live in 2013 at Voodoo Festival and he seemed completely miserable. Something must have between him and Trent Reznor backstage because all he did was go through the notions of songs, and then talk sht about Trent in between songs. NIN, The Cure, and Pearl Jam were the headliners. He was definitely in a bad mental place. Still love his music, haven’t seen them live since.
I was going through high school when TGA were still around and touring. They were/are my favourite band and helped me get through every part of growing into the young 24 y/o man I am now. I’ve met Brian twice, once in 2012 & then again in 2018. He really is as nice as they come & just genuinely a cool dude to talk to.
Even if is the "isolation" edition is one of the best episode of Rig Rundwon. Brian has a lot of knowledge in the tone search. Great Player and great songwriter.
Awesome video, always been a huge fan of Brian between Gaslight, his solo stuff, This Charming Man, etc. Never knew he was such a technical guy either. Also after watching this video I'm convinced Perry has some cool stories and is the kind of person that would be awesome to grab a drink or 2 with
Don't know Brian or his work but what a great guy, his enthusiasm is infectious and I really enjoyed this rig rundown. I am going to check him out and, great interview and a cool, cool guest.
I’ve like gaslight for a while but his musical abilities aside I wanna be in a band with Brian just cause I think he’d compliment all my ideas! Dude seems so genuinely nice
genuinely interested, great stories and very pleasing banter - this is a really cool rundown. It seemed more about the conversation and less about the tone, really cool
Nice rig rundown. I'm old enough to remember the rosewood Tele's when they weren't very popular. GH had one. Very heavy. This guy's sounds very clean and focused, very robust, Nice.
These quarantine rig rundowns are the absolute best. Like what regular guitar player wants to know about what John Mayer or whatever tours with. I wanna know what they play in there living room.
Really enjoyed this. Even though I don’t know much about his music. Seems like such a cool guy. I will be listening to his music. I had a thought while watching this, why don’t y’all do rig rundowns from the PG crew. Would love to see what y’all are playing.
That was the best rig rundown I've seen. I'm a massive fan of Fallon's music. But on top of his songwriting, he's guitar geek amp nerd. That was great.
How about some of the PG presenters do their own rig rundowns in isolation? Would be pretty cool to see Perry and John talk about their own gear at home!
Another cool idea would be to get two different artists to do a combined rig rundown together so they can talk about each others gear? I'd love to see Brian having a chat about gear with like Julian Lage or Matt Pike or anyone who loves their gear!
Another awesome video. I’d love for you guys to do a rig rundown with Nate from In The Whale. They have an awesome live show and he has a very cool guitar setup. I’d love to learn more about it.
Hey Brian, do you still have the custom one-off 6V6 Dr Z combo I made for you about 10 years ago? It was inspired by a funky old Lafayette 75 combo that I fixed for a friend.
I don’t know this guy or his band but it’s interesting, in just a few seconds I thought he must be a christian and then a few seconds into a video of his band it seemed even more obvious. Not sure why this guy just screams “youth pastor in a worship band”....it means nothing, just an observation I found interesting.

I don't know man. There is a maybe 1 year old Orange Amp video where he looks like shit. He put up like 40 kgs
I don't know of this guy or his music, but I sure liked his modest, non rock-star attitude. A cool cat.
look up his music. its great
Gaslight anthem frontman loved and Loved and loved by his fans he’s a an intellectual disguised as an indie rocker
He’s one of the greatest songwriters of our time.

Glad not the only one who is both a Gaslight fan and an Eva weeb. Rare combination!

This was such an awesome rundown- I could have listened to Brian and Perry nerd out over gear for hours!
What a great guy and a cool conversation. Thanks for this PG - excellent down-to-earth rock content!
one of the best songwriters ever born,,this guys is a national treasure
Great rig rundown. Instant fan cuz he's an amp builder too...Love it!
Perry being struck by lightning was probably the most intense moment of this rundown...
'twas not fun!
Yes! I was just thinking yesterday about how much I missed Rig Rundowns! Thanks
We still here!
Great interview/rundown. My favourite for quite sometime. Great work, keep them coming...
This was such a great interview. Brian's teles are absolutely awesome. So cool to listen to two guys chat about awesome gear and experiences 👌
Perry is so good in this. That lightning story is insane.

Here's my big question, do the guitars that were dried out on top of pizza ovens permanently smell like pizza?
I’ve like gaslight for a while but his musical abilities aside I wanna be in a band with Brian just cause I think he’d compliment all my ideas! Dude seems so genuinely nice
Awesome dudes and an awesome rig rundown! Made my day!

Such a nice guy. I love his music for a couple of years and i adore his sound. Such a great video 👌🏻👌🏻
Loved this one. What a great conversation!

Check out the 59 Sound and go from there! The earlier album is great too, but 59 Sound is a such a killer record
Travis Sexsmith Thank you!

Here are some demos John has been doing since the pandemic hit - ua-cam.com/play/PLq9mmHLGk12k7zcV_gV4U0bqDVqNzO2cz.html
@@premierguitar awesome, I look forward to checking them out! Would be cool to see some stuff from Perry and Chris Kies too!
Great episode. Really enjoyed it.
Lovedrug played at my school before, it was a college with alot of music majors. That was a cool band.
I’m going to get you on the Tele Custom train if it is the last thing I do Mr. Fallon. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love this whole interview :)
Great interview! Lots of good info :)
Thanks for fixing the balance between Brian and Perry.
More of these please
What a nice "down to earth" guy!
Did you go to Hoffman Amplifiers Forum right away like I did?
Another awesome video. I’d love for you guys to do a rig rundown with Nate from In The Whale. They have an awesome live show and he has a very cool guitar setup. I’d love to learn more about it.
Really good guitar player. Just has a cool vibe to his playing, regardless of equipment.
How do i like a video twice?
"That wood can breath" oh god here we go again...
14:46 That story was crazy
Rad! Didn't really know who Brian was, new fan! 😂
Oh you're in for a treat my friend.
46:31 he has the box!
Nu-metal at the telecaster is awesome
What's with the wear pattern on that tele hanging on the wall?. Dont play on the 9th - 12th frets?
Dude got struck by lightning? Let’s not bury the lead
Hey Brian, do you still have the custom one-off 6V6 Dr Z combo I made for you about 10 years ago? It was inspired by a funky old Lafayette 75 combo that I fixed for a friend.
So, what was used for the guitars on the 59 sound?
Even in isolation Perry has too much caffeine in him.
Well, the guy was stuck by lightning. He's FULL OF ENERGY.
Dude backs the OCD say no more

100% TRUE
Third!
Clark Kent!
The Corbital Tunnel thing Brians referring too is not fun man. Make sure you stretch and take of your hands, wrist, arms and shoulders guys
Second!
i call bs, brian played a blonde nash tele with a humbucker neck pickup on some horrible crowes shows
He is like hard to like listen to like.
Def has the vocabulary of a certain generation, right?
Man I know this is your opinion but you’re like….. wrong 😆
And yet again ruined by.....LIKE...LIKE...LIKE...LIKE....LIKE....ETC...
this is just terrible. wait until you can do it face to face... whats the point?
