@@yeshevishmanmaybe they will be in the fifth hatchetfield musical? We seem to be getting one for all five the Lords in Black based on the recent NPMD
One thing about Starkids, they are gonna act their ASSES off in a small little square!!! The storytelling and acting in these 2 installments of Nightmare Time isincredible!!! Such worldbuilding and deep dives into characters we only got a glimpse of in some stories!!! The familial situation of Sherman and why he acts the way he does, and the return of Frank, plus a well put Hatchetfield twist was an unexpected story! Plus the return of Duke & Miss Holloway (Holiday) with heart wrenching moments that really bring a tear to your eye, and make you question what is going on with that Red-Headed 80s lady? Phenomenal work once again, with amazing songs that will comfort and disturb!!! Killer Track is probably my favourite Nightmare Time story that we have gotten so far!!! The acting was just off the charts!!! Kim and Curt know how to make you FEEL!!! Loved every second of it!!! Always looking forward to these Nightmare Time installments and they just always knock it out of the park!!! Cannot wait for the final installment of NT2 "Yellow Jacket" next week!!! I just KNOW that we will go out, with a BANG!!!
Kim and Curt did a GREAT job in this episode. Their acting -- especially together -- was really really good. I'm so glad they're part of the StarKid family now.
The deals of what people can and can't remember about Miss Hollaway is interesting. She can explain and showcase her skills and interests, but can't tell her lore or stories of how or why she has them. I'm guessing the curse does let her lie, otherwise it would be impossible to be trusted enough to function in society. So it's sweet that she keeps trying to tell Duke her real past knowing its futile, instead of making something up. She loves Duke too much to tell him simple lies to shut him up. She wants to tell him the truth even though she can't.
Honestly Killer Track took my breath away...I was already a die hard Ms. Holloway and Duke fan(both them as charaters and the ship) and it was so beautifully heartbreaking to see them play out in yet another scenario. I don't think this is the last we'll see of Ms. Holloway(that vague backstory just seems too good!), but it makes me sad that she likely won't be with Duke if there is more content with her :(
I think it makes a lot of sense for them to be together! She returns as a guidance counselor and he's a social worker - that's the perfect setup for a future collaboration.
@@Shadowonwateryeah probably so. I think we will see her origin story eventually tbh. Since it's the second time i think they have mentioned her past/ how she can do what she does
one of these days we’re gonna need a story that’s just…normal. a normal character having a normal day. of course, there are plenty of set ups for wacky hijinks, but our protagonist just ignores them. that’s all i want in this life
Maybe a bunch of paranormal stories could all be going on in the background with us only seeing part of each one as the main character of the story walks past them (kind of like the story of the other main characters besides Xander stopping an apocalypse in the background of the Buffy episode "The Zeppo."
That bit with the dog, Buddy, affected me really badly. I lost my dog that I grew up with a couple of months ago. His name was Buddy and I’m still working on getting over my greif.
Love lines when mysterious magical character just casually state they aren't fazed by things normal people would find truly bizzare. And it was delivered so Well.
I am sooooooooo dumb. I have watched “Killer Track” like a dozen times, but never in a marathon with Season 1 Nightmare time. So I thought “Run Away With Me” worked cause she was singing about her life. Now that I put it with the 80’s tree girl asking for an autograph, I realize when she says, “It’s one of mine,” she means it’s one of her songs from when she was an 80’s rock star. Thus it works because no one remembers her time as a rock star, so singing one of her songs works the same. 😅
At some point I'm gonna need a "the confusing timelines from Hatchetfield explained" I am so incredibly bad with remembering names, I'm sure I miss like 80% of the references.
lol "Daddy" was basically just ALL Jamie and she KILLED IT. How did you guys manage to make "Killer Track" both terrifying AND a banger?! You guys are such geniuses at weaving all the characters and plots from previous shows together. Absolutely brilliant. Also, "Paul is Dead Records" at the very, very end. Omg.
Writing this BEFORE I view the video entirely: I didn't know Sherman would be elaborated upon at ALL so I'm curious to see how this goes. And Kim!!! The return of Kim! A new role for Bryce! I'm so excited! Let's see how this goes!
im sorry but during the credits, nothing was funnier to me than watching the screen of the ddr machine repeatedly say 'MISS', while Jeff is having the time of his life dancing around on it
I jumped from my seat when it played good lord I was NOT expecting that But then again its called the killer track so…I guess thats why it sounds hellishly horrifying JSJFJS
Can't wait to hear Kim's solo again! Such a rockstar moment for her :D But lord I do love Daddy. Both these episodes are fantastic. Very happy to finally rewatch.
@@The-Busy-Beeeeeagreed! It feels like they're fated to keep meeting Possibly because of whatever deities exist in this realm, but also possibly due to the deal created by Holloway and whichever person/deity I like to think the deities have these different episodes acting as different interweaving timelines/events, like a game where they play with each individual in Hatchetfield
Spoilers for the end of Daddy - - - - Honestly all Frank has to do is wait until Sherman falls asleep one night and then… “take care” of his unwanted responsibility lmao idk bout y’all but watching a grown man disintegrate-murder his own mother to become a child would absolutely put murder on the table for me
[Spoiler for "Daddy"] Did anyone noticed that Sheila says, "I'll make another one." when referring to Marco? Like... Ma'am??? What do you mean by "make another one"? Is Marco a living corpse? Some Frankenstein-like creature? It's very evident and obvious that Marco is not exactly a normal human, so it's not that big of a stretch. At first, I thought it was just a spoof character off of Lurch from the Addams Family, but now I'm curious as to what happened to him and how he got to be Sheila's Butler. We know that Sherman's father was murdered... Was Marco once her son's father? Sheila did say that he died when Sherman was a baby, and so Sherman wouldn't have recognized him as "Marco".
Killer Track is officially my fave Nightmare Time Episode so far. I am so utterly in awe. And yes indeed Duke, who the hell is not in love with Miss Holloway... not sure that's even a possibility 🥰

Maaan!! I literally had to sit down for awhile just to gather my racing thoughts. These felt like such significant stories to the hatchetfield lore in general. Jaime did amazing and all the roles she took on in the first, she has the range and I'm glad that's finally shown off!! Corey did well as Frank again and even developed as it went on... *R.I.P. Barry* Killer track was fucking dope with all the tie-ins and how insane of a connection it had to the overarching plot. Kim was amazing as Holloway and it gave us a greater understanding of her character. And how it shows she's someone who will put her life on the line to complete her work. Curt and Bryce were also highlights for the story, I swear all these character relationships feel so natural and well written. Props to these stories for that genuine effort with the writing there!! Fantastic work all around...(that fireworks scene got me choked up along with the earlier Holloway one at the diner.) I can't wait to see yellow jacket as it's the grand finale. I love how many of the lyrics in Killer Track are ripped straight from either The Summoning or a song from TGWDLM Ride to hell and back = Out of the depths of Hell and back (Summoning) Light it up, Burn it down = WIND IT UP! KICK ITS NUTS! (Join Us and Die) Ride The Devil's Back = The Devil Is Back (Summoning)

This episode really went next level with the music! Also Curt's editing and MV Directing as always is top tier! Also Jaime's directing in Young at Heart was so good!
Every single time, that last scene with Miss Holloway (note the spelling here) and Duke gets me misty eyed. I hope they get to be in a major show at some point. I neeeeeeeeeeed to see what happened to her originally.

Ok, so Killer Track was probably the one i was looking forward to the least as there were others I liked more but I can say with confidence, that was probably one of the best episodes so far. Mrs. Holloway and Duke are always a win and as the story was being read, I could literally visualise a movie being made about it. Very well done Starkid!
Seeing Jaime play two different characters in the same story gives me hope that we will see Ted and JoeyPete having a conversation. I don’t know if that what I need but it’s definitely what I’d like.
“His skinny jeans are ripped to shreds, his hair’s a mess, he looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks…” Me: damn. Just how I like it “Just Rose’s type.” Me: *>:0*
It's interesting how Episode One is called "Daddy", but in the video Chapter bit it's labelled as "Young at Heart". Could be taken in a literal way as Sherman has the actual mind and heart of a child, but also metaphorically as Sherman and Sheila hold the last name "Young".
The timestamps are for the start of the songs! The opening song for “daddy” is titled “young at heart”, and there are no songs after that until killer track, which is why “daddy” is labeled “young at heart”!
Jaime owns my heart❤️ I wish we could hear her sing more because her voice is amazing I would watch hundreds of hours of her acting in every single role tbh

I have Asperger's, or what used to be called that, anyway. I think the most recent DSM considers that part of the spectrum now? I wonder how many of us there are in this fanbase. I like animation, too, including a lot of stuff meant for kids. Anyone else here a Gravity Falls fan?
Also I want people to appreciate 2:09:46

I appreciate the little details

THANK YOU! I was hoping someone already saw it.
i'm just here to remind fellow charlotte sweetly stans that she lost her husband and her ted in one day (this season is entirely in one timeline i believe) and i am DISTRAUGHT goodbye
(I think I missed it, where happened to Sam this season?)
@@BlaiseRashelHarman10 I believe someone ran him over in Honey queen, or something like that

She's better off without those two scumbags.

Wow
I can't believe starkid killed their entire fanbase a year ago by playing the killer track without any warning
"The hell'd you stop the song for? I'm in a hurry!"
So unexpected LMAO

Ms. Holloway and Duke were my favorite new characters from Season 1! Glad to see them back! I seriously want a Duke and Ms. Holloway tv show or movie now. The concept of their relationship both working and romantic is Fantastic! There is so much that could happen. 😉
Ikr i would love that sm. I love them. They r one of my favorite characters
I feel like they were supposed to be main characters in NPMD. They feel like they're very much heroes of a story that we haven't heard yet...
@@yeshevishmanmaybe they will be in the fifth hatchetfield musical? We seem to be getting one for all five the Lords in Black based on the recent NPMD
Hehheheheheh in the talkback with Working Boys, they said we might actually get a holloway movie or musical!!!!!
“becky barnes, come down from that tree
but i dont want to
ok then” HELP
I really wish that Sherman’s mom would have married Charlotte so that JLB could have played every major character in Episode 3 🤣
I know Duke always falls in love with Miss Holloway, but I think she looks for him every time, too. I hope we get to see Miss Holiday again very soon
I'm convinced that the Honey Festival is the cause of everyone's problems
I loved Killer Track and I reaaally hope we’ll get a musical about Miss Holloway. She and Duke need to fall in love again and get a happy ending!
we will!! ^^ it definitely won’t be the next starkid musical but nick has said it’ll most likely happen at some point
Honestly Killer Track took my breath away...I was already a die hard Ms. Holloway and Duke fan(both them as charaters and the ship) and it was so beautifully heartbreaking to see them play out in yet another scenario. I don't think this is the last we'll see of Ms. Holloway(that vague backstory just seems too good!), but it makes me sad that she likely won't be with Duke if there is more content with her :(
Same but i really hope they end up together ❤❤❤
I think it makes a lot of sense for them to be together! She returns as a guidance counselor and he's a social worker - that's the perfect setup for a future collaboration.
I can't help but wonder if this is the first time she's switched to a new persona around him. Like maybe he knew her before Ms. Holloway but forgot.
@@Shadowonwateryeah probably so. I think we will see her origin story eventually tbh. Since it's the second time i think they have mentioned her past/ how she can do what she does
But didn't she return to him in the end?
So sick how Sherman and his mom almost look the same. So well casted
I don't know if this is a joke but they're both played by the same person 😭😭
@@boxed_eggs it was a joke XD
one of these days we’re gonna need a story that’s just…normal. a normal character having a normal day. of course, there are plenty of set ups for wacky hijinks, but our protagonist just ignores them. that’s all i want in this life
An excellent candidate is the Homeless man
@@urielespinoza1899 ...he kills people high on bath salt zombie drugs snacking on a dead man's face
Maybe a bunch of paranormal stories could all be going on in the background with us only seeing part of each one as the main character of the story walks past them (kind of like the story of the other main characters besides Xander stopping an apocalypse in the background of the Buffy episode "The Zeppo."
I mean, that's gotta be Paul right?
@@urielespinoza1899 definitely not a good candidate
That bit with the dog, Buddy, affected me really badly. I lost my dog that I grew up with a couple of months ago. His name was Buddy and I’m still working on getting over my greif.
"If it's a ghost, I'll trap it in this jar. That's easy" 1:32:33 BEST LINE
I KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! This is why Starkid is so quotable!
Love lines when mysterious magical character just casually state they aren't fazed by things normal people would find truly bizzare. And it was delivered so Well.
Jaime Lyn Beatty in Daddy is just absolutely amazing!!!
I love that every store in Hatchetfield is (blank)Zone. GuitarZone, ToyZone, PartyZone
Omg wait yes
I never realized that??
At some point I'm gonna need a "the confusing timelines from Hatchetfield explained" I am so incredibly bad with remembering names, I'm sure I miss like 80% of the references.
Well at least every episode of the season so far has been taking place in the same timeline!
who needs the MCU when you have hatchetfield
Duke and Miss Holloway are so, so special. Heartbreaking and bittersweet. I need like 8 seasons of them.
lol "Daddy" was basically just ALL Jamie and she KILLED IT. How did you guys manage to make "Killer Track" both terrifying AND a banger?! You guys are such geniuses at weaving all the characters and plots from previous shows together. Absolutely brilliant. Also, "Paul is Dead Records" at the very, very end. Omg.
I cried. Kim and Curt's chemistry is forever unmatched
The more I see miss Holloway the more I fall in love with her…

Writing this BEFORE I view the video entirely: I didn't know Sherman would be elaborated upon at ALL so I'm curious to see how this goes. And Kim!!! The return of Kim! A new role for Bryce! I'm so excited! Let's see how this goes!
SO UH. IM CRYING, THAT WAS PHENOMENAL
im sorry but during the credits, nothing was funnier to me than watching the screen of the ddr machine repeatedly say 'MISS', while Jeff is having the time of his life dancing around on it
Killer Track holds a special place in my heart, the music is absolutely phenomenal and then the story line… there were tears
how the hell did you guys manage to actually make the most terrifying song ever?!

Possibly because of whatever deities exist in this realm, but also possibly due to the deal created by Holloway and whichever person/deity
I like to think the deities have these different episodes acting as different interweaving timelines/events, like a game where they play with each individual in Hatchetfield

Honestly all Frank has to do is wait until Sherman falls asleep one night and then… “take care” of his unwanted responsibility lmao

Having to raise Sherman would put murder on the table for me
45:32 'Sherman! Don't be a poo!'
10/10 outstanding writing
[Spoiler for "Daddy"]
Did anyone noticed that Sheila says, "I'll make another one." when referring to Marco? Like...
Like said by Sherman, he used to be a player in the Olympics. I'm guessing he died and Sheila resurrected him with attack and defense buffs lol
Miss Holloway's goodbye made me cry, such good writing!
Killer Track is officially my fave Nightmare Time Episode so far. I am so utterly in awe. And yes indeed Duke, who the hell is not in love with Miss Holloway... not sure that's even a possibility 🥰
The "Tomorrow Will Come" leitmotif for Mrs. Holliway was gold!
I feel like the Killer Track monster is related to Pokey, the Lord in Black present in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals. They both use sound as a tool to spread/hunt.
NO SAME okay so pokey uses sound/music, tinky manipulates time, blinky is just like an omnipotent watcher, nibbly is just hungry, and wiggly is… a capitalist? not really sure what he does. ALSO I NEED A BREAKDOWN OF WEBBY BC I DONT GET HER AT ALL I JUST KNOW SHE SLAYS. ok i just need a crystal clear thorough hatchetfield for dummies breakdown bc im slow and cannot hold all this info
Idk if anyone else has mentioned it but when Miss Halloway is turning the pages in the book she's in them!!
i think that might be related to her origin story where i'm guessing she sold her soul to the devil in exchange for magic
@@maryooowoahh probably not the actual devil maybe another one of these beings from the black and white
@@maryooowoahhI wonder if she sold it to weby since webby is very much tied to time and the timeline and stuff and unwinded if miss halloway is tied to awful events and webby made a deal with her that as long as no one remembers her the awful things won’t happen
Wasn't she is the first discipled of Wiggly and the author of the Black Book? Or am I confused it with Willabela Muckwab (I forgot how to spell it) 😅
*R.I.P. Barry*
Killer track was fucking dope with all the tie-ins and how insane of a connection it had to the overarching plot. Fantastic work all around...(that fireworks scene got me choked up along with the earlier Holloway one at the diner.)
I can't wait to see yellow jacket as it's the grand finale. And apparently has some more lore according to vague hints and I am so excited to see how this will wrap up the season--👀👀👌👌💖💖💛💛
*Damn that Holiday solo was tasty. She did sooo well!! 😤😤🤟🤟*
Yeah it does. Decent amount of lore. Get tissues
@@nacho_girl Daaaaamn. I'll keep that in mind for what's coming. As Starkid so far has knocked it out of the park with it's writing. So them cranking it past 11 doesn't surprise me--👀👀😳😳😤😤
In a perfect world this series could be a fully fledged tv show, goosebumps or eerie Indiana style
That intro song with Sherman spending a day with those five bears was cute as heck.
Frank finding his dog dead made me cry
'Best milf ever'
That murdered me 😭
I love how many of the lyrics in Killer Track are ripped straight from either The Summoning or a song from TGWDLM
Ride to hell and back = Out of the depths of Hell and back (Summoning)
Light it up, Burn it down = WIND IT UP! KICK ITS NUTS! (Join Us and Die)
Ride The Devil's Back = The Devil Is Back (Summoning)
my grandma's maiden name was young, and my great grandma's maiden name was sherman. so imagine when i saw black friday and gasped at sherman young's name, and now, im so excited to see he got a whole story. (not to mention sherman is played by jamie lynn beatty and my last name is plaster-beattie, formerly beatty before my great grandfather changed it around)
This episode really went next level with the music! Also Curt's editing and MV Directing as always is top tier! Also Jaime's directing in Young at Heart was so good!
Curt directing Run Away With Me: Hmmm, how to film this in a way that makes everyone love my wife as much as I do…
I love Duke and Ms Holloway. It was great to see them again
Miss Holloway my beloved i await your return
Every single time, that last scene with Miss Holloway (note the spelling here) and Duke gets me misty eyed. I hope they get to be in a major show at some point. I neeeeeeeeeeed to see what happened to her originally.
Me too! Love them. They r one of my favorite couples from the universe. Also love Holloway as a character. So mysterious love it. Need to know more
the ending of Daddy really makes Sheila’s line “im not going anywhere” hit different
To anyone else (unreasonably, though i was too) terrified to death, ive watched this multiple times and im still alive after multiple weeks :)
Idk why i was so scared but i just cant handle waiting for anything so i thought id leave this for the people like me
Thanks for this I sometimes worry about stuff like this too, this was reassuring
Wait the movement between Frank and Barry is so well done !?!
I love how the Tickle Me Wiggly Jinjle plays when Sherman first enters the store
“His skinny jeans are ripped to shreds, his hair’s a mess, he looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks…”
Me: damn. Just how I like it
“Just Rose’s type.”
Me: *>:0*
Damn they got you
I'm LOVING the Mulder & Scully vibe Duke and Miss Holloway have going on!
⬆️ Yeah, it's the same with episode 2. I don't think episode 1 has it
Jaime owns my heart❤️
I wish we could hear her sing more because her voice is amazing
I would watch hundreds of hours of her acting in every single role tbh
The Care Bears in young at heart are all the same colors as The Lords in Black!
I love how the narration makes it where you can listen to these like an audio book but the visuals MAKE IT SO MUCH BETTER!
Miss Holloway and Duke are now my favorite starkid ship, never thought another ship could with Paul and Emma or Ja´far and Sherrezade, or Ron and Hermione or Curt and Owen or...
im so invested in duke and ms. holloway's stories. i loved them in nt1 but. BUT NOW I LOVE THEM EVEN MORE
