@@CookinWTaShondaRenaemy Sister told me about the Turkey Tail in tried it's in Collards Greens like she did in it's was good I'm going to try them in Beans Thanks
Making this with chopped green bell pepper & onion, ground pepper, chili pepper flakes, & a little sugar to taste. That’s how my grandmother from Mississippi made hers 😋 thanks for the vid!
Sounds delicious 😋 thanks so much for watching 🤍
That is the gases coming out of the beans. I was told
I also was told after cooking for about an hour you should add about 1 tablespoon of baking powder so you won’t be so gassy.
The foam is actually excess starch & protein from the bean. Great recipe, I was looking for a good meat to pair with pinto beans as I don't cook them often. Can't wait to try the tails!
I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for watching!
They say that the foam is the impurities from the meat! Like whenever you're boiling any type of meat you will see the foam rise to the top of the pot!! Most people just skim it off!, and continue the cooking process! You also have those who change the water until they see no more foam!! I hope this helps!!🤔🤨🧐😉✌❤
I just usually skim from the top. That did help! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Omg!!! My mom use to make this for us growing up..But she would use turkey neck instead. It was so good in the winter. 😍
Brittany Olga Turkey necks are good too! I have used both. Thanks so much for watching 🥰🥰

The foam is the gas releasing from the beans. I’m making these today.
Thanks for watching! Enjoy 😊
TaShonda Renae omg!!! They were the bomb!!
I’ve never made this meal before but I love to eat it. I used turkey tails for the first time in my green last year for Christmas and I love how they taste and smell. Thanks for sharing. This looks so good. Even better thank my wig stop I’m about to eat. I could smell it through the phone. 🤤🤤

My favorite food. Looks delicious. I make a pot weekly. Need that cornbread. Enjoyed your video. TFS
I am trying to add more beans to my diet weekly! Do you have a video of your recipe? Thanks for watching 😍
The foam is actually starch. The same thing that come off rice when you boil it. So there’s nothing with removing it. It tends to cause gas anyways. 😂
Good to know!! Lol thanks for watching!
Now this is what I’m talkin bout... great down home recipes❤️. Thank you for sharing

I love Pinto beans! My mom used to make these all the time growing up. I never understood how they turned from light to almost red.
Yeah that is pretty weird. I have never thought about that. Thanks for watching 💕
She probably used Kidney beans(red beans and rice). I was confused too until I grew up and realized they were two different beans but the same meal lol

When my mom uses smoked meat in her food she’ll boil the meat for 8-10 mins and pour the water off and refill the water and it won’t have as much foam😊
Thanks for watching
Looks yummy! And I don't know what that foam is either. Have a great day, TaShonda.😃

This looks so good. I've never tried this with turkey tail before. My feeling is the foam is from some residue coming off of the beans....i could be wrong. Thanks for sharing. :)

People use sea salt that iodine salt will kill you or make you retain water.

the foam is just starch
That’s what I believe too. Thanks for watching!
The foam could b from the fat

The sodium
It's from the turkey
