one of the finest young players i have found. this guy is the real deal. there are so many imposters on youtube. add to that he doesnt waste one second of your time.
You're theory knowledge and technical virtuosity is absolutely mind- boggling. Your lessons are the most captivating I've ever seen. Clearly you've put an insane amount of work in. Congratulations. I honestly cannot even fathom how one reaches your level. Totally. Blown. Away.
That’s some of the best lead playing and phrasing I’ve heard in a long time. Not only is the content great, but you have the musicality to elevate it even further. Very nicely done sir!
Ok... First part of the video: Master it until september. Second part: Maybe november... and so on the entire year... Meaning: a year of practicing in ten mins video. Brilliant! (as usual).
I was expecting something I could do... I'm getting hit with what I feel like is guitar math, but secretly it's like the hidden formula for being dope. I don't know shit about music theory but your stuff is definitely something I am adding to my repertoire to make some killer stuff with. Thanks bud.
Man thank you for sharing this. You have truly helped me find a new sound that excites my musical imagination. It seems so obvious when you explain it but you have a real gift for making complex harmonic concepts easy to understand. Once again thank you and cant wait to see what you have coming in the near future.
Thank you for making lessons for people who don't need to have the major scale and how to tune their guitar explained. Hard to sit through most youtube lessons that are for even for advanced players but start with fundamentals. But how the hell did you get this good at such a young age? I mean, it's just insane. You must have diligently practiced and studied for as many hours as I've been repeating the same stuff. Even just to spend the time to make this video with the written out excercises and the graphics, pretty impressive, man. Thank you.
the arpeggio exercise video was incredibly helpful in its straightforwardness. what a joy it would be if a similar video was made approaching the concepts in this video in that same, practice-drill context
watching the fluency with which Robbie can play is either inspiring me to play more or got me thinking I should burn my tele in an oil drum. Can't decide which, LOL.
Hi Robbie, what a pleasure to watch a new upload from u !!!! I follow you since your first vid, and all I can tell is : Great job man !!! You don't have thousands of vids but all the things you uploaded are pure quality !!! So thanks again, the internet really needs guys like you who 'd rather see quality than quantity !!!!! And I do so , of course...Keep the good work man !! Mathieu from Marseille South France
Nice! I really got a lot out your approach and concept. Its amazing how you are looking at this. The creative opportunities are endless your playing is amazing and technique is absolutely flawless 💯 Great job
Hey Robbie: I've been playing for 34 years now and this - by far - one of the best lessons on using the hexatonic "Blues Scale" I've ever seen. The line at 8:18 is just fantastic! Absolutely A+++ Robbie! Also, the sus-triads (and there use as chords) that you show really clears up a lot of the "sounds" I've hear in much classic fusion guitar music, i.e. the albums Holdsworth and Scott Henderson put out in the 80's and 90's. BTW - You're a fantastic jazz guitarist and I hope you make even more videos in the future. P.S. - January 21st is my Birthday and I think this Minor Blues Scale lesson was the best "present" I got this year! LOL!
Thanks for the lovely comment! It's wonderful to hear that you found it helpful and inspiring (lots more videos to come!). Thanks again for your kind words and happy practicing.
Robbie, your lessons have not only helped with my own music and improv adventures; they have helped me as an instructor, as well. Your control of the instrument is so pro. You and Tom Bukovac, although coming from different areas of playing, are, for me, the best teachers on UA-cam. Keep up the stellar work. Please, let us know when you drop an album. I’ll hit your Patreon page🙏🏾
... um do you happen to have a clone of yourself who happens to be a drummer ??? lol ...cuz i'd def be down to take private lessons from him!! Robbie ...as a musician, educator and content creator ...I am INSPIRED by you!!! So much to say but for now: wow, thank you, all the best!
Oh man.... speechless! Tried to follow the video but couldn't keep it up. End up just watching and admiring your skills and musicianship! That solo at the end is soooo tasteful! Exactly what I would love to learn how to do! If you are planning an online course or something geared towards that kind of stuff, I will sign up straight away! Keep me posted please! Cheers!
Thanks for the comment and the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it. That’s definitely something I’m considering for the future so I certainly will keep you posted!
Hi Robby I 'm amazed.. I've just been watching a few of your clips and subscribed If I saw an 80 year old Jazz /musical master explaining these concepts and playing them like second nature .Imparting the knowledge so smoothly and elecountly I'd be thinking ...wow you're a goldmine ..what a great and learn ed teacher.. Thats why you're all the more amazing ...kudos to you ...and God Bless
The pursuit of excellence personified; brilliant & thanks for the post, I'm in. I've played around for ages with the Barry Harris b6 and, ok, it's interesting but coming from a blues background this is much more emotive. And you play beautifully, thanks again.
Robbie, I just wanted to take a minute to thank you so much for making your videos so clear, concise, understandable and so so useful... thanks so very much. I have seen only 3 of them so far and they literally cracked open so many of the things I wanted to learn over the last number of years..

i thought i knew it all...but this actually never occured to me. So simple, yet effective and so many possibilities. Your presentation stye is great and coherent, you obviously know your shit and you don't post for the sake of posting but rather have fully worked out and though-trough content. Very much appreciated. Keep up the good work.
The best content for learning guitar. Although the videos are limited but the quality of content is exquisite. I'm someone who knows a lot of modes but has no clue how to apply them This video is perfect. This sound reminded me of Dorian #4 And locrian natural 2.
Another great lesson. Amazing to hear these new (to me ) approaches using the blues scale. I's really like to hear about the right hand technique you're using to play so quickly - is it alternate picking?
I'm kinda disappointed in my self for not thinking of harmonising the blues scale before... I mean, I've done it for almost every other scale I've worked on over the years :-P This is an awesome way to reuse the same notes in a fresh way, and making triad pairs! (Which I love the sound of). Holy smokes, thanks for pointing this out! Just found your channel yesterday, and man, you have some fresh guitar content and concepts! Already checked out all your videos and became a patron today because this stuff inspires me to work on my chops again ;-) And your playing is on point!
You really are an alien, man! Never ever did I think there would be so much hidden information inside these notes and the way you connect everything blew me away! Also you are faster than the cheetah on a speed boat daaaamn wicked playing :)) Thank you,If you can keep these videos coming! :))
Your playing is jaw dropping, you teach in a way that strikes such a wonderful balance of dense and approachable, I know this is an older video but thank you sir! Do you stick to teaching or do you have music that I could listen to as well? The stuff you play is complex but relaxing and sounds so damn cool.

@@guitarbust9418 I kind of wonder that myself.
Your picking technique is stunning. Thank you for sharing
This was an amazing lesson, and your playing is so fresh, melodic and clear. I just recently found your channel and I'm glad I did. Thank you!

Great lessons! I am starting to get into jazz guitar and bass. These lessons are right up my alley.
在中国,把知识的传授分类道、法、术三类,Robbie的课妙就妙在讲的是“法”,是练习的方法和原理,一集视频的内容就可以练习很久,从而内化到演奏,而不是只有具体怎么弹的licks。谢谢Robbie!
