I’ve used this Ozark Trail stove for a few months now. Performs very well for a value priced stove. It fits the canisters well, the canister stand works, it ignites easily, and will boil water or fry up breakfast very efficiently. Is it a pocket rocket? No. Does it work well? Yes. I thank you for your demonstration and review. - Tennessee Smoky
How is a Pocket Rocket better? This guy says it won’t work with my little Stanley pot, which I love. When I camped, i ended up having to put it right in my fire to boil water since I couldn’t get the stove to light and didn’t dare use a lighter because the instructions warn of dire consequences.
Suggestion, redue the stand part of your video, thus not misleading your viewers. Read the instructions for the stand. Fitting the stNd is fast and extremely easy and simple. Connect two legs, then slide the third leg around. The third leg will very ea5snap in place.
I bought one of these after watching this video..... took it home and tried it out .... Loved it and it fits nicely into my cook kit !!!.....went back and bought 3 more for backups and gifting ...these are great !!!1.... they are also an exact copy or a renamed dragonfire that costs double the amount and doesnt come with the stand or propane Converter.you purchased one separately !!!!......thanks for the review again !!!.....the propane converter cost as much as the whole kit if
Great, glad it worked out well for you, your fortunate to be able to go back and get more, they don’t last long !! The adapter alone is 8-9 $ last I priced them !! Thanks for watching !!
I’ve found the same thing.....the fuel canisters are hard to snap on when the base is fully open. I usually open mine partially and it goes on a lot easier. Thanks for the post. 👍
Awesome share my friend. I went to Walmart yesterday but totally stayed out of the sporting goods section on purpose and now I’m wishing I had’ve went over and checked it to look for this…12.95 is great for what ya get. Blessings.
Thanks for the heads up about this stove. I couldn’t find it at any of the Wallyworlds near my home. I’m out on the road and just grabbed the last 2 at a Wallyworld In Pennsylvania. Big bang for the buck with this deal.
I like Ozark stuff and I enjoyed this video. I stumbled crossed you're video and was curious about this because I've seen this on Amazon and its definitely a good little option
Thanks Henry !! It’s a good little kit, some people have said they have had trouble with the ones they got, hopefully you got a good one ! Appreciate you watching the video !! Take care
Thank you for this timely review! I saw this kit in Walmart just yesterday, but held off buying it until I could find out how well it works. Looks like a great deal for 12.95, especially since it includes the propane adapter. I'm also glad you reviewed the stand, good to know it's not very good! I've found the MSR Universal Canister Stand works extremely well, it's metal and folds flat. Take care!
I did the same thing when I first seen it at Walmart, I didn’t buy it then wish I would have, went back to get one a week later and they were gone !! Had to go to another Walmart to find one !! The MSR stand is a good one !! Thank you very much for watching and commenting, I appreciate it !!
Excellent price for this kit, yes that’s a nice spork for the dehydrated meals, I love going out in the woods cooking, that is my go to stress reliever !!! Thank you so much for watching, appreciate your support !!
I found the stand is easier to get on and off the cannisters if you place one leg on the rim, and then swing the other legs on instead of trying to snap them on (and off).
Yes, think that’s what everyone has been recommending, I am use to my jetboil stand that you open up the whole way and snap on very easily, thanks for watching !!
I seen this video and felt comfortable taking mine on a backpacking trip. It would not work at higher elevation. I tried to use it at 11000ft and wouldn't stay lit even with a lighter. I tried it when I got home and boom first try with the igniter. My favorite part is the propane adapter and stand.
I should have brought mine out, I was just out in high elevation in Colorado, but didn’t have it with me, to bad you had problems with it , hope it didn’t ruin your trip !
@@IndianHemlock luckily my friend and I shared his to boil water. At first I thought my can got cold so my friend used his MSR pocket rocket on my can and fired right up. Even the MSR had trouble too but was able to boil water.
So far, your review of this is the only one I have seen on the UA-camz. And a very good review, at that👍 I have a couple of these and I'll share a tip for loading bigger pans to balance better on these type stoves: simply lay one of them type grill grates that Firebox stove has atop the pan support. Even a small spiral metal trivet from the Goodwill, for example, will balance a pan more steady. Simple Theory had the absolute best grill grates, love that Mac! For the propane bottle, definitely use a bottle stand, and you need to fiddle with the included stand proper to get it to fit them butane bottles, because they do fit. I've put mine through the ringers already and my best points are that the flame control is better than stoves 3 times the price and the dispersed flame won't scorch a hole through the bottom of your ss.

I have given up on almost every kind of stand out there. What really gets me is the cast Plastic stand for the 14 oz and 16 oz propane bottles. They work okay. But they just disappear too easily. I got a couple of 2 inch plywood rounds. And I have holes drilled in them to accommodate either the 14 bounce or the 16 Oz propane bottles. If I used the smaller bottles I would make a plywood stand for those. They are a little heavier than most. But I do most of my camping out of a car or an RV.
That’s a good idea making your own out of plywood !! My favorite stand For the isobutane canister’s is the jetboil stand , easy and simple to use and runs about five to six bucks ! Appreciate you stopping by RippingJack !!👍🏼
Actually a pretty good (but not the best) little stove for the price of this package. A very similar stove on Amazon goes for $12.99 and the cheapest adapter I could find was $7.99 and the exact copy of the stand was $8.99 for a total of $29.97. So the 4 in 1 is not a bad deal and you also get the pouch to use for what ever.
Hey buz, your exactly right !! Not the best out there but not bad ! A great package starting out ! Thanks so much for watching and for leaving a comment, I appreciate it!! Have a great weekend 👍🏼😊
Good review. Thanks for sharing and letting us know that this is available. It does look like a good value. Heck, the adapter is almost that much separately. Two suggestions: 1. Put the base on THEN open it up. 2. The can opener works better going the opposite direction of the P38. Push it forward and it should cut the lid easier.
Well thanks !! This is really a great stove kit for a great price, can’t really go wrong ! Appreciate you watching and for commenting, have a great week 👍🏻🏕️
@@IndianHemlock I guess mine was branded differently, because it had instructions. I see that Ivan Mendoza explained how to install it in his comment and you should also be aware that it fits those tall butane tanks that are meant for counter top burners. With the right adapter you can use them as fuel and the bottom leg stand is a must, if you go that route. It will be very tippy without it.

The start will work if you click in two legs and click the third one in before fully open and then open the third leg. It was probably designed this way to lock the stand onto the canister more securely.

The adapter included is great. I have the little stove ($8) but I'd happily spend 4 more for the 1lb propane adapter. I did get the orange plastic box though.
Well thank you very much !! It is greatly appreciated !! These are great little stoves for the price !! They went up a little but still under 15 bucks 👍🏼 thanks for watching and take care 😊

@holyremnant111 Hello, are you aware typing in all caps indicates YELLING and SCREAMING, certainly not your intent. In forums all caps are highly frowned upon, and they are much more difficult reading than all lower case. Many folks will not read posts in all caps. Notice there is not any magazine, newspaper, business correspondence and the like written in all caps, there is a reason for they do not use all caps.
I always enjoy the videos wherein the presenter doesn't read the instructions or practice with the featured item prior to filming. Makes for some decent comic relief and reminds me to read the instructions and practice with my gear before I go into the woods with it.
I hear ya Riley !! I like to use it right out of the box to see the ease of usability, instructions had nothing about how to use the stabilizer, go figure, appreciate you watching and thanks for commenting! Glad I was some comic relief for ya !
The first one of these I bought did not light. The second one i tried using the same fuel canister. There were so many dire warnings about what to do if you smell gas (leave the area and have stove serviced) that i got scared off when I did smell gas and didn’t even try to light it. The instructions say NOT TO USE A LIGHTER… I’m new to this and gas scares me. I use it on my stove at home and I’ve mastered the propane stove in my travel trailer. I sure would like to be able to use a backpacking stove. With the first Ozark Trail stove there was no hiss of gas like you got here. With the second one, I didn’t get that far. Suggestions?
Hi, all I can tell to is to make sure stove is properly screwed onto canister and not cross threaded, and be sure it’s tight . Second, these igniter’s on the stoves don’t always work, all my other stoves do not have the igniters and require a lighter. You can use a lighter on these as well. I normally turn valve on far enough till I hear the hissing and then right away use the lighter! Or you can hold lit lighter up to burner and then turn valve on . Hope this helps, and feel free to check my other cook videos out on my playlist to see how I light my other stoves ! Thanks for watching and stay safe 👍🏼
I was just at Walmart and saw this little stove and was telling Life With Kernel Lee that he should do a review on it, when he sent me to your channel. Looking forward to checking out more of your content.

@@lostintransit3359 i know what he's talking about. If you're only heating as in warming the food, then no worries. It doesn't reach the temperature to leach. If you're full on cooking in the can then yes there could be an issue.
The Brits boil food inside the tins, then open them. At least they used to years ago. They live as long as we do. More likely you're investing many more poisons waiting in the drive thru line while everyone runs their motors. However if you use a can as a repeated cooker, it might be best to use a coffee can as they have no coating.
@@IndianHemlock my pleasure mate. I was looking at a similar camp stove I've just bought while watching, no stand tho. There"s a dual fuel stove that runs on white fuel/unleaded petrol (or gas to you guys I s'pose) that I wish I could have got. It was like the old primus stoves that you need to pump to pressurise. It'd be nice to see how they work.👍🤔🙂🇦🇺
I trimmed the catch tabs off and the cans fit OK. If by chance the stove is knocked over its probably going to take the stand along with what ever is on the stove too .
Yes I did the same thing with the tabs , that was before I realized how it’s supposed to work !! They had nothing in the instructions on how to install the stabilizer!! Appreciate you watching and for the comment !! 👍🏼 take care
I bought one ,I have a 2 burner stove but this is much more compact and easier to pack, I also bought a mini sawer water filter for around 20oo another good buy it filters 100,000 gallons and the filter itself it's just a little bigger than a bic lighter,,,the burner stand does suck I can use the stand from my Coleman lantern ,,the stove can be used withought the stand while using the bigger Coleman propane bottle but for 12oo and some change I'm very happy with it
Picked up one of these yesterday but the burner won't turn on, I attached it and the adapter tightly and opened the valve after hearing gas hiss and the ignition gives a spark but no fire, even if I bring a lighter to it (I know not smart but whatever) idk what's going on
I don’t know, maybe you got a bad one ? Were you hooking it up to a propane using the adapter ? Maybe try the iso butane canister without the adapter ! Good luck, appreciate you watching !!
I bought one of these yesterday. I don't know if mine is defective but when I screw the adaptor into the 1lb propane bottle, the adaptor engages and starts releasing gas for 5 or 6 seconds before it seals against the gasket in the adaptor no matter how fast I try to screw it in. Besides the waste of gas, it is very dangerous. It is like the center tube in the adaptor is too long, engaging too early or the gasket is too thin and doesn't make a seal. Since I only use propane bottles, I will be returning this stove.
I finally saw one of these stoves at my local Walmart, and it was the only one on the shelf so I grabbed it up - they are either going fast, or there is just no supply of them. Took me a bit to figure out how to use that stand,
I think a little bit of both, they only get a half dozen or so and then they go quick !! The stand does work when you figure it out but still takes to long for me, I use the jetboil stand mostly ! Thanks for watching !!
Hi I just found your channel and watched this review. A nice review and very comprehensive analysis. I had just stumbled across this stove by accident while browsing at Walmart. Yours is the first review I have seen. And if you don't mind me asking, what type of camera do you use to film the outdoor scenery? It is absolutely stunning. Thank You
Slightly open the stand and line up your canister with the correct notch then open it all the way till you hear that locking click. Took me a few minutes to figure it out as well. However my main curiosity is does that canister adapter fit on other stoves? I unfortunately don't have others to test it on.
Well if I’m hiking where pack space and weigh is a concern , I use the small ones I believe they are the 100-110 gram canister, but for the most part I have been using the 230 gram canister which is the next size up and it really last a long time ! I really like that size one, if your planning to do a lot of cooking on it like I do that’s the one I recommend, personal preference I guess ! Good luck and happy camping ⛺️ !! Thanks for stopping by !!
Could you hook bottom of gas cannister on one leg of the stand then open the other two-clipping on as screw around cannister base perhaps? No idea of course just an idea seeing how base originally opens out..? Let know if anyone tries😊
Yes this is how this stand was designed, to open it partially, put on base of canister then rotate the rest of way open until it locks in place !! But know where in the pamphlet that came with it is this mentioned! Jetboil stand you open all the legs and snap on base, that’s why I was trying to do this one that way. Thank you for watching and appreciate your feedback !! Take care 👍🏼

The adapter included is great. I have the little stove ($8) but I'd happily spend 4 more for the 1lb propane adapter. I did get the orange plastic box though.
Yes it really is a great deal, orange case is nice !! Thanks for watching !
Haven't used it yet I got mine for 3.00 seeing you use it in your video gives me hope on the product.

Thanks for taking me to that peaceful stream and reviewing the stove kit. I would like to know about the coated /foldable fry pan with spatula that also caught my eye.
Thanks Lou, check out my video on it, thanks for watching
SOMETHING about 🥫 & 🥓🍳 makes me wanna watch a Bonanza Episode🤠 Dad burnit! Man I love people like this who actually take the time and Demonstrate how to use a product, problems that you may encounter, etc Exceptional Job!👍
I know what ya mean !! Bonanza was a great show !! I certainly appreciate the kind comments, I like practical ease of use products that you can use right out of the package that doesn’t cause a lot of grief !! Thank you for watching, I do appreciate it !! Have a great weekend 👍🏼😃
YOU NEED TO SLIDE THE STAND INTO PLACE ! SNAP 2 LEGS IN , THEN SLIDE LAST LEG OF STAND INTO PLACE ! IT WORKS ! SLIDE THE STAND INTO BOTTOM GROOVES OF CAN ! YOU WILL GET IT !
Thanks so much !! Thanks for watching
@@IndianHemlock WELCOME MY FRIEND ! GOD BLESS !
I bought the adapter to refill the one pound tanks from a 30 lb propane tank too.
@Nobody I've been looking at those. Do they work well??
@@ozzyshouseofpain8177
yuuup. Fill outside, middle of yard, away from any ignition source.
The stand is worth it,, the stove look so great
Thank for watching home forester, great package deal !!
I fell in love with it got to of them.so far so good 👍 not to bad for the price 15.00$ time will tell.
Yes great deal for the price, these stoves hold up pretty well !! Thanks for watching !!
Thanks for the review!
Your welcome Bobby, thanks for watching
Enjoyed your video.
We’ll thank you Harry !!
Nice review; thanks for sharing your thoughts on this product! I think I’ll pick one up the next time I’m at Walmart! 👍
Great deal and a awesome stove !!
I picked up this stove yesterday at Walmart. I really like it; thanks for the recommendation!👍
I was just at Walmart and saw this little stove and was telling Life With Kernel Lee that he should do a review on it, when he sent me to your channel. Looking forward to checking out more of your content.
We’ll thank you so much for checking my video out, welcome anytime !! Kernel Lee is awesome and a class act !! I appreciate his friendship and support on my channel, he’s been doing some great videos as well , thanks again Tim !!!
You should never cook anything directly in the can because there's a liner in most cans that'll dissolve in your food
If you're only heating the food, no worries. You're not actually cooking the food to the point the liner melts into your food.
@@chrispierce2942 he's talking about a chemical lining that leeches into the food when exposed to heat and can be toxic.
😂😂😂😂You think that can hasn't been heated to a helluva lot higher temp than a tiny stove can provide? It's pressure cooked inside the can.😂😂😂😂
I have this set. I put the canister stand on not fully opened. Once the canister was in place I fully opened it. Still awkward though.
Yeah I kind though the same thing, I believe in simplicity and ease of use and this stand wasn’t one of them ! Thanks for watching and commenting !!
Beautiful little spot your in there mate. 👍
Thanks Ozzy, thanks for watching !!
It'd be nice to see how they work.👍🤔🙂🇦🇺
@@ozzyshouseofpain8177 I have one of those, I’ll have to do a review on it some time, thanks Ozzy !!
@@IndianHemlock definitely be one I'll be watching 👍🙂🇦🇺
@@ozzyshouseofpain8177 just did one up for you hopefully out in the next hour !!
I forgot to mention this type of stove outperforms the expensive Optimus crux for holding the flame level.
This is really a great stove Liam, thanks for watching
Good job and I hope to see more reviews of different things.
Thanks Jessie !!
I trimmed the catch tabs off and the cans fit OK. If by chance the stove is knocked over its probably going to take the stand along with what ever is
on the stove too .
Yes I did the same thing with the tabs , that was before I realized how it’s supposed to work !! They had nothing in the instructions on how to install the stabilizer!! Appreciate you watching and for the comment !! 👍🏼 take care
I bought one ,I have a 2 burner stove but this is much more compact and easier to pack, I also bought a mini sawer water filter for around 20oo another good buy it filters 100,000 gallons and the filter itself it's just a little bigger than a bic lighter,,,the burner stand does suck I can use the stand from my Coleman lantern ,,the stove can be used withought the stand while using the bigger Coleman propane bottle but for 12oo and some change I'm very happy with it
Great value for what you get, sawyer mini is excellent , thanks for watching !!
Liked your review and Great footage ...I just subscribed to your channel...THANKS
Thank you mountaingator !!
Thanks for the review. New subscriber.
Thank you k.Hudd, appreciate it
I bought one of these yesterday.
That’s unfortunate, I guess like everything else you get defective ones, mine seems to be okay, thanks for the feedback, and thanks for watching!!
Very nice stove
Thank you Kyle !! Thanks for watching !!
Big like. Great stove for 12 bucks 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Could be !! Thanks for watching Miki, I’m in Pa.
@@IndianHemlock and Im in Wv, so in the region :)
Yes very similar terrain !
If you fold that last leg of the stand over slightly it may slide right over on the fuel tank?
Thanks Willow, and thanks for watching !!
Just found the last one they had a couple weeks ago at my local store. Great price for everything it comes with.
Great deal, I sure you will like it

Well thank you very much, I appreciate that !!
Just picked one up yesterday for 14.97 plus tax. I'm amazed how well it works.
Yes, you really can’t beat it for a budget friendly backpack stove ! Enjoy 😊 thanks for commenting, have a great weekend 👍🏼🏕️

I thought it was weird that it wouldn’t fit a Coleman canister. But that worked thanks
Thanks Chase
Started out a review of the stove, quickly descended into a video of a stubborn man having a battle of wills with the shitty fuel stand😅
😂 lol, You got that right !! Appreciate ya watching !!👍🏼

Big pepper fan !!! Thanks
It's easy to get it on the tank .I had trouble to don't open it all the way it's got a lock on the stand.
Thanks David !!
Thank You
Thank you Bradley !! I have a DJI Osmo action cam and I also use my IPhone, thanks
Thanks man
Thank you !!
Slightly open the stand and line up your canister with the correct notch then open it all the way till you hear that locking click. Took me a few minutes to figure it out as well.
However my main curiosity is does that canister adapter fit on other stoves? I unfortunately don't have others to test it on.
Thanks Paul , yes it should work on all other iso butane stoves as well, I have a MSR pocket rocket 2 and it works on it !! Thanks for watching !!!
Good review - I need this to go into my pack - I've been looking for a while - didn't want to pay 30$ - thanks sub left
Thank you so much Baker, appreciate it !!great deal !!
How long do the different size gas cylinders last? I'm trying to decide which one to buy.
@@IndianHemlock thank you!!
No problem Michael 👍🏼
Great vid brother!
Thanks monkey mike !!! Appreciate it
Set the fuel canister on the base then open the base legs. They fold around the canister. It doesn’t snap in place.
Thank you very much Mike , appreciate you watching 👍🏻😊
Good review. Subbed.
Thank you Eli, I appreciate that !!
