For the experiment to work they did not even have to kill the martyrs, it would have been enough for the rest of the vault to believe they had killed them.

Now, I don't know if this would merit its own video, or if you even play this videogame series, but the Dishonored franchise has some dark lore, especially surrounding the Outsider. Its spread in tiny tidbits throughout the games and the DLCs, so it often gets buried under the whole "magic-intrigue, pseudo-dystopian whalepunk Assasin's Creed" vibe the games have going on, but still. Could be worthy of a look, and would definitely be a unique and fascinating video

I really like your approach to this series. Other people just talk about lore, maybe with some gameplay in the background. But you talk about it while actually playing through it, listening to holotapes & reading terminals then giving us your input, which feels more immersive. Well done!

I don't know if you've played the Dragon Age series, but in Origins, there's a really uncomfy part in the Deep Roads. There's a rhyme that an npc starts reciting. It's creepy lol.

Vault 11 is my favorite Vault because of how dark it is. Usually within the themes of Fallout it's about a Beacon of Hope amidst a world of tragedy however this Vault goes in the complete opposite direction as a dark stain of Horror in a comical world

DOOM as a series is dark lore lmao as is Bioshock. Baldurs Gate dark lore would be cool though.

I believe this went on far, far longer than 16 years, unfortunately.
The bodies would be cleared from the sacrificial chamber every year, either by the robots or vault residents. They wouldn't have the nice 'living room' set up to calm your nerves if the place was just a corpse pit.
I think the 16 skeletons you see were from the final days of the vault. I figure people stormed this area and tried to force their way to the mainframe. It could be that 16 of them died fighting the robots- it's a hard fight, especially for vault dwellers.
Last little bit of reasoning- in that one guy's speech about corruption, he mentions it's been like this "for decades". These folks have been underground a looooong time.

As for suggestions, I always found Vault 75 to be quite dark.

I don't know if this is applicable, but the story of Joker's sister in Mass Effect 3 is pretty freaking dark--especially because of what can happen to the asari with Shepard's SPECTRE terminal.

That hidden room in the institute labs with the mutants in tanks, was one of the craziest things I’ve seen.
Great video! This is the type of stories i adore. Ive never been a fan of playing as the MC of timeline events, its always been the side characters or people not affilated that held more interest for me. They help to showcase and illuminate the world which gives me further ideas and motions for exploring and expounding on how someone would live in such a setting. I have found this not a popular belief though, but despite it, i have found it to be the most reward via experience and gameplay. Keep up the amazing content! Perhaps Vault 95 next? Also i feel you could find many ideas for this series in the Dragon Age series. Imo its a very gritty or grimdark world.
I really liked the video and your reactions to the events you talk about. It was as if I was chatting with a friend in the kitchen (the Russians have such an expression - it includes the concept of “heart-to-heart talk”). Maybe it's because your background looks a little like a late-night kitchen and half-whispered conversations when the whole house is asleep. And also because you are a sincere person)

Mass effect has some dark lore. Like when the Quarians made a sentient AI species, (Geth) to help them prosper, that took over their homeworld forcing the entire Quarian race to live on a giant series of spaceships. The geth are also the main enemies of the first game. There is an entire questline in the 3rd game to take back thier homeworld but how it began was just tragic. I forget the exact details cause its been a while but i remember feeling so much sympathy for the Quarians but also a little divided cause even though the Geth are enemies, they are still sentient and have motives and goals.
This could be a dope series for you dude. I really enjoied diving into the stories found on terminals.
The Outer Worlds: Although it’s pretty much a part of the main mission of a DLC, the lore of Peril on Gorgon. In the HIA building you see human bodies pressed into cubes. Like garbage cubes. All were being experimented on.
As someone with the ADHD tendency to just binge lore wikis for hours instead of sleeping (for games both that I have played and franchises I've never touched alike, and this included the Fallout series well before I ever launched one of the games), this series seems like exactly my jam

I know you said you would do stuff beside Fallout, but I would LOVE a full exploration of the Sierra Madre (both the casino and the DLC). The connections between the other DLCs make it really interesting and the gameplay is terrifying and hard as hell. Also it’s the closest to straight-up horror that New Vegas gets, so it would be appropriate for this series!

The only recommendations I can think of for dark Lore right now are Big MT and Dunwich, Something not related to Fallout. You could look into the portal or Half-Life series. There is a lot of dark Lore
