since the game is made by iranians i looked up if any conflict happened in 1947 and well...there was the palestine-british war which ended the Mandate of Palestine im guessing this is the conflict that picture was a reference to
And I'm pretty sure the photograph is that of troops at the start of the war, before the PTSD kicked in (the soldiers at the time were hyped for all the "honor and glory" that entailed).
I love the moments when it gets to a point where it might be softlocked and the games fighting to keep itself together through some miracle Vinny gets past it.
Watching vinny trying to investigate the crime scene while the song just kept going HAM was some of the hardest I’ve laughed. Why did the song need to be so intense???😂
I never thought I would ever hear "Thanks, Jiffy Bro" ever again. The Broteam years really were something special. Yes, this game is an experience. The voice acting is somehow both fake, TTS voices and legitimately sincere.
Vinny, how many times, Vinny? You will just not let the diaper chief go! You cant let it be no matter how much you want to! Aye, it is a dreaded curse, to constantly recite the forbidden passage. I shudder to imagine hearing yet another "Colonel".
I rember a free to download game back in like 2006 that looked like this. I still try to remember the name so hard. It had a ridiculous bad CGI helicopter scene at the end when escaping the isle you played in. It was playing in a sort of hospital/ mental asylum and was quite blody.
As an Iranian, the country in which this game was made in, I am melting into the ground from second hand embarrassment and shitting my pants laughter at this disaster, thank you for playing binyot
I like how when Vinny was spinning the camera to get a warble effect on the voice at 17:04, the camera clips through the building he's standing next to and there's an NPC stuck in the walls.
An NPC stuck in a wall in this game is a "minor inconvenience" when you have the whole wobbly thing happening But good eye! i wouldn't have noticed it myself
Imagine being the grandson of the detective that solved this case way back in the 1950's. Imagine finding that somebody made an adaptation of your grandfather's legacy only to find out that it's this.
This reminds me of an Azerbaijan game called The Last DeadEnd. It also tries to be a Horror/Detective game but immediately devolves into hilarity and that unique feeling of watching an earnest yet inexperienced dev team fall flat on their face. Also the only game I can think of that deals with Zoroastrianism and lets you "JOIN THE EVIL".
12:45 it's like when someone waits in the room and the director fast fowards the scene by changing the character in different angles so you percibe it like he has been waiting for some time
In all seriousness, this is a game where, despite the quality being, shall we say, less than subpar, you can still tell there was heart put into it. Like, they genuinely wanted to make a good game, but just did not have the skills and practice to pull it off. Yeah, it's bad. But it's bad with heart to it, y'know? And I hope the devs of the game take the criticism in good faith, and take the time to craft something a lot better next time.
You do realize this game was funded by Iranian government to sell propaganda story? This is why it's also hated outside of it being a bad game as well.
I played this game a few years ago as part of a mystery game tournament and it was a blast. It's so awful to play but you just know the people who made it genuinely wanted to tell a cool story. Dark Years is bad in such unique ways, I can't help but love it.
Yes UA-cam - Deadly premonition is exactly what Vinny played here. Thank you for your input
The Virgin Deadly Premonition vs. The True Lord Chad of All Dark Years

Lmao I was gonna comment about that and THIS is the first reply I see... 💀
it does look like deadly premonition tho 👀
This game wishes it was half as well made as Deadly Premonition.
I would love to see Vinny play Deadly Premonition tbf
I like how the game takes place in the 50s, but there are "modern" police cars. And the explosive timer was digital
Modern American police cars, at that.
Where do you think the rest of the world got that technology from, mh? C:
