They were in on the deal and kept it up for a few years, the ones that were tricked were Fab & Rob that were promised they would get to sing but kept being put off by music producer Frank Farian. They were hired to sing the music and were told to just lip sync for "Girl you know it's true" because they had a concert really soon and they hadn't really mastered the song yet. They agreed but Frank Farian kept telling them they had to keep faking it for now, and that eventually when they got better he'd let them sing but that never happened. They had to keep going since they had a contract. Rob Pilatus said. "The last two years of our lives have been a total nightmare. We've had to lie to everybody. We are true singers, but that maniac Frank Farian would never allow us to express ourselves.

given that virtually every artist now has studio enhancement even live on stage. the difference is now a days they can do it all live, mix live, int he fly and re do things. Very few artists you hear now can play an instrument or hold stunning acapello session. So what is real? what is real talent? I give a lot of credit to artists that have parts of their songs with no modifications, no backup, even no instruments... and / or do an unplugged album. Whats sad is Milli Vanilli keep their titles and awards and UA-cam songs are still under their name because, well, it sold albums. The real musicians should AT LEAST be credited.

Se vc ver as músicas do Reais Milli Vanilli (Numarx) que foram adaptadas e editadas por Frank, vc verá que esses aí não iria fazer tanta fama como Rob & Fab já que as batidas, estilos e os ritmos vocais são muito voltado pro Jazz. Já Rob e Fab não tinham a voz mas tinham estilo, domínio e dançavam. Com o ritmo da música editada por Frank (para cair bem de modo que ficasse a cara e estilo dos meninos) fez com que Rob & Fab sejam sempre lembrados como O Milli Vanilli.

given that virtually every artist now has studio enhancement even live on stage. the difference is now a days they can do it all live, mix live, int he fly and re do things. Very few artists you hear now can play an instrument or hold stunning acapello session. So what is real? what is real talent? I give a lot of credit to artists that have parts of their songs with no modifications, no backup, even no instruments... and / or do an unplugged album. Whats sad is Milli Vanilli keep their titles and awards and UA-cam songs are still under their name because, well, it sold albums. The real musicians should AT LEAST be credited.
