I met Barney Kessell back in the day at Dante's In North Hollywood. he's always been my favorite guitar picker. Thanks so much for sharing "Back Home" in the key I already do it. Thank you....thank you...
Thank you for your EXCELLENT approach to teaching. Been checking out your videos. They are very informative, thorough, clear and concise. The best I've seen. 👍 😎🎶🎸🎶
Nice! One thing though, the top note of the B-7 at the end should be an E. This creates a nice little chromatic ascending line on top, a classic Barney move! Also, and this may sound a bit crazy, but it really sounds to me like Barney hits a low (open) E in the bass of the #9 chord. Could it be that he tuned down a half step and played the whole tune in A?
Thanks for pointing out the E in that voicing! Such a great detail, and yes, that root on the Eb7#9 sounds low to my ears as well. Maybe he is tuned down a half step......

Glad you enjoyed it Pierre! Wish I had had the opportunity to see Barney perform live.
@@ChrisWhitemanGuitar His version of "Just Friends" is also killer...compares very favorably to Pat Martino's version....favorably to anything!
Barney Kessel also played Back Home in Indian on his own album To Swing or not to Swing, a magnificent record. Thanks for showing this intro!
I will check it out, Thank you!
