Great trio! Makiko is one of my favourite living clarinetists and Tomomitsu Maruyama is such a great banjo-player: he's got a great talent to be busy without stealing any of the attention, just augmenting the soloist.
Thanks for posting! Excellent trio in a great setting! Always wonderful to hear & see Tamura, I like how she stood up to get "serious". I would love to hear her live the tone she gets out of that clarinet is wonderful even on these recordings. I liked Daisuke's vocal, he has a strong voice.
When Tamura first starts playing you think "wow, she's good" then a couple of minutes later you realise you've found someone very special - she's incredible! Hope she gets to New Orleans and plays with the jazz scene there, Tuba Skinny for example.
as a born and raised hoosier that is far away from home, this really pulls at my strings. love this and love you guys
Amazingly good recording for being out on the street with no microphones in sight.
Makiko is clearly one of the best trad jazz clarinetists in the world today. I don't understand why she is not better known in the West.
Same - I thought the same, she made me smile, this is so heartfelt, rhythmic to the bone. ❤❤❤
If you've ever wondered why the clarinet was invented, the answer is Tamura Makiko!
Jim Nabors is looking down, with a happy smile!!
Fantastique Tamura Makiko !
Busking is really the most humble and gracious profession - and when it's performed as well as this it elevates to a gift from god 🙌🏻
As a lifelong Hoosier - I approve. You've done an excellent job of capturing the essence of our love for Indiana. Thanks!
I love this! I moved to Indiana recently and the church bells play this song sometimes
All of you are great. Tenor Banjo and Bass work also exceptional, you really sound like you are born in the west!, Thanks.
When they invented the clarinet they had Makiko in mind
From living in Tokyo and now in Bloomington, GO HOOSIERS!
I'd swear I was standing on the banks of the Wabash, getting ready to cast and had to stop a moment to listen to outstanding music.
Tamara rocks it yet again. Terrific.
Delightful. Best wishes.

Yes she really gets this idiom! She could hold her own with anyone in Nawlins.
Who says women can't play jazz? ? ...A great player....
She's great. If you'd like see another fine lady clarinetist look up Aurelie Tropez.
This makes me happy!

Блестящие импровизации, великолепное исполнение!
What is the banjo player doing exactly? I’d like to understand this.
