Ik that Verna has more power. But there’s a different fun in taking ur car to 7000 rpm. U can see that Faisal is driving the city above 100 kmph and mostly going in 1st and 2nd gear in city. But while driving verna I barely saw the speedometer having 3 digit numbers. And that too he took Verna till 4th gear most of the time. But Honda should definitely give turbocharged engine.
When the whole set of other reviewers are mentioning Verna’s suspension being stiff/neutral and kind of being appreciative about Verna , he is constantly highlighting its soft suspension and pretty negative about it… Surprising !! 😮
I had Hyundai i20 and had a horrible experience with the music system in that car. The service center broke it and was asking 60k to replace it. That’s why I skipped Verna because it has a fully digital speedometer as well as AC controls which are really expensive to replace if they break down. Hyundai, even though provides decent looking things, doesn’t last that long. I went with the new city and really happy with it.
I have my i20 since 2015 and it has never given me any issue till now. So I booked new Verna DCT AMT but then I cancelled it and booked XUV700. Agree with your point about body quality. That’s where Hyundai needs to improve.
Hey the same thing happened to me , got to the service centre , they asked 60k to replace , then I got to some local shops and they replaced it for a very less price (I don't remember itbwas about 2 years ago) And now I am here , still happy with my i20 With literally no issues it

Definitely Honda city any day for its sophisticated yet elegant looks plus ivtec engine is cherry on top. I think verna is bit too overdone and screams attention. I have city 4th generation for 5 years and ivtec engines revs like it is still brand new, plus the peace of mind you have with honda is unmatched.

Yes, the honda city may be an executive car, but the verna is so much better…. Looks are subjective (I personally love the verna other than the front grill), but even otherwise - performance, feel good factor, interiors…. Verna just triumphs

The old Verna looked good for it’s time, but it looked a little…generic. It was starting to age, so they had to facelift it. And coming from the design language the Tucson and Elantra followed, the New Verna is almost perfect lookwise. I just don’t like the rear.
Remember a stock 1999 civic si used to yield 160hp (1.6L DOHC VTEC) ? Honda in india always detuned its engines for indian conditions ... I can bet in its full potent the same Honda 1.5L NA engine can beat the turbo 1.5 of Hyundai .
How many people are going to buy verna 1.5 turbo most will probably stick to NA since it's cheaper and efficient. So comparison should have been done between city and verna NA to get fair conclusion.
At higher speed city bounces ,with me alone i could do 130Kmph top speed i did not get confidence above that . With Full occupied i did 150kmph belive me no one could figure out i was at 150kmph (Bangalore -Hyderabad).It was fun but not advisable 😅 I drive automatic to save my left leg it lacks puch,but sports mode enough for me push this one .
City reliability & space; Verna features & Power; Slavia / Virtus Power, GC & strong built.... So sedan market is not crowded but has typical tradeoff. Only common thing among these rivals is unwanted cost cutting. If this continues, the sedan market will shrink more.
The best sedan is The Volkswagen Virtus. Best in class driving dynamics, safest in the segment, much better ground clearance, and dont even get me started on how smashing the Virtus looks. New verna has great power but what would you do with that power when the tincan can’t even handle that power. Its handling and ride balance is so inferior compared to the Virtus. And Safety in Verna haha we all know how hyundai cars have performed in GNCAP. Barely manages to get even 3 stars.

I have a virtus gt i did a trip of 500-600km and i got a mileage of 18-20 overall which includes both highway and city traffic. The cylinder deactivation technology works like a charm. You are also somebody seems like a person who isnt well informed. And talking about ground clearance. It is the major reason people prefer jacked up Hatchback like creta seltos these days. City and Verna with full 5 people and full luggage would scrape had a vento it used to scrape so much. So please get yourself informed and then comment.
Go for the Taigun or Kushaq with 1.5 TSI engine. Safest and best driving dynamics in the segment and gives 18-22 Kmpl mileage too in the highway. In city 12-14kmpl. No other mid size SUV gives such mileage. But they are best for four people. If you have family of more than four XUV 700 is the best choice.
Tbh new stuff like drls being too long now with some cirnge called connected tail lights...and giving a whole tv instead of a proper dashboard... touchscreens aren't gonna be reliable and ofc they have alot of lags as the time grows... having too many electronics just ruin it...but the analog in city looks quite good and the physical buttons too

no.. me ex lover of Verna until I didn't drive it.. but after buying it blindly I didn't feel excitement and fun in driving verna.. so cheated on verna and test drove Honda.. now can't go back to Verna ever again.. atleast in dis life.. sold verna after 2 weeks
@@kill3rbyysight These are subjective to different factors, I'm having 2021 Verna and as an overall package I'm still loving it, the quality levels and luxury is definitely better in Verna than the City in my opinion!

@@kill3rbyysight I've driven both, in terms of drivability the City is better because of its dynamics, and the Verna is not too bad, its diesel engine was fab! But as I'm talking about the overall package and value for money, the Verna is definitely the better car as Faisal also said!

Outer design wise, City design looks bolder than verna but the best one is of Virtus in the segment, older gen verna liked more bolder and sportier

The old Verna looked good for it’s time, but it looked a little…generic.
It was starting to age, so they had to facelift it.
And coming from the design language the Tucson and Elantra followed, the New Verna is almost perfect lookwise.
I just don’t like the rear.

At higher speed city bounces ,with me alone i could do 130Kmph top speed i did not get confidence above that .
With Full occupied i did 150kmph belive me no one could figure out i was at 150kmph (Bangalore -Hyderabad).It was fun but not advisable 😅

City reliability & space; Verna features & Power; Slavia / Virtus Power, GC & strong built.... So sedan market is not crowded but has typical tradeoff. Only common thing among these rivals is unwanted cost cutting. If this continues, the sedan market will shrink more.

The best sedan is The Volkswagen Virtus. Best in class driving dynamics, safest in the segment, much better ground clearance, and dont even get me started on how smashing the Virtus looks. New verna has great power but what would you do with that power when the tincan can’t even handle that power. Its handling and ride balance is so inferior compared to the Virtus. And Safety in Verna haha we all know how hyundai cars have performed in GNCAP. Barely manages to get even 3 stars.

I have a virtus gt i did a trip of 500-600km and i got a mileage of 18-20 overall which includes both highway and city traffic. The cylinder deactivation technology works like a charm. You are also somebody seems like a person who isnt well informed. And talking about ground clearance. It is the major reason people prefer jacked up
Hatchback like creta seltos these days. City and Verna with full 5 people and full luggage would scrape had a vento it used to scrape so much. So please get yourself informed and then comment.

Go for the Taigun or Kushaq with 1.5 TSI engine. Safest and best driving dynamics in the segment and gives 18-22 Kmpl mileage too in the highway. In city 12-14kmpl. No other mid size SUV gives such mileage. But they are best for four people. If you have family of more than four XUV 700 is the best choice.

Tbh new stuff like drls being too long now with some cirnge called connected tail lights...and giving a whole tv instead of a proper dashboard... touchscreens aren't gonna be reliable and ofc they have alot of lags as the time grows... having too many electronics just ruin it...but the analog in city looks quite good and the physical buttons too
