Great video. I had a similar issue except it was my intake manifold leaking.
Is it hard to change all 8 coils. I have a 2003 navigator that I bought brand new years back. Couple years ago it was idling like voom voom voom voom but when i drive it or give it a lil throttle it stops. I dropped it off at lincoln and they told me the 8 cylinder misfiring.

So have a question. I have replaced all 8 spark plugs, all 8 coil packs. And it still says a misfire in #2. I have taken it to a mechanic (they weren't very busy) but the mechanic did nothing to my car (2010 lincoln navigator) I highly doubt he hooked it up to a scanner, I say this bc he says "it could be" and "we can try". My question is what could it be causing it to still misfire.
If you changed all spark plugs and coils. You have to check the fuel injector, do a engine compression test, and do a engine leak down test. Also, make sure that you check all wiring that goes to the coil and fuel injector. To make sure you are getting the signal from the computer/ ECU. I know this is a lot but, these are the things I check if it's still misfiring. Also, make sure you check if it's misfiring on the cylinder you are saying and not another. Cuz, Ford ECU software will not pick up a misfiring fast after clearing the codes. But, there are other ways to check misfire on a Ford with a scanner.
Sorry, one more thing is. If you got cheap plugs or coils. Make sure that's not the problem to. Ebay special coils and plugs could also give you misfire problem due to poor quality parts. That are not working like they should or work like OEM parts.
I appreciate the information. What brand do you recommend? We went thru autozone and for all 8 spark plugs and coils was 435$ before tax. I took it to a local mechanic and after 4 days he still can not give me a definitive answer. I also got a fuel filter thinking that it had not been replaced as some of the coils were original parts. Problem is we replaced the fuel pump, but can not seem to locate the fuel filter?

You forgot to check cover gasket becose no water are prestone should make it into the coil

HE'S A CROOK HE ONLY HAS TO CHANGE THE COIL AND THE HOSE SPARK PLUGS DONT NEED TO BE CHANGED OR OTHER COILS HE HAS ONLY ONE CODE
I totally agree. Good thing I watch UA-cam to learn these things. I also watch my families cars before the folks take it to a mechanics to avoid this malpractice from the industry
No. He recommended all 4 because it was leaking on all coils. If he did just 1 then it would be a possibility of come back. Now I wouldn't do all 8. But at least just that 1 side
