    The garage did the right thing and should be rewarded with box of chocolates. No change is something very rare. Great job 👍

    I put one in my Dads S320 CDI. Bought it second hand off eBay matching part numbers. Plugged it in and everything worked no coding required.

      Yes, it all depends the car it came from, and the car it is going into...

    It's ridiculous how often this is happening nowadays. From modules to sensors, everything. Just love it when someone fetches a car that has aftermarket sensors everywhere and they get upset when you want to put OEM sensors back on it. Then one of the OEM sensors isn't right. Car is cutting out or doing strange things with no fault codes. Live data looks ok, nothing obvious. Except soot content and differential pressure both at zero. Then they eventually tell you it's had a DPF delete. Map it back to standard and you then get different live data and codes, find out the root cause was one of the original sensors gone bad and the aftermarket replacement was working but giving the wrong values, and then the OEM sensor you actually bought was bad as well. Joyous. Strangely enough that was a German car as well 😜

    Good to see a swift resolution through the dealership. They must have been able to claim the labor on their parts warranty. The dealership way can go very wrong sometimes...
    New modules are not always the best answer. I knew a Merc Dealer Tech and he said there were some real nighmares when the new modules required other modules to be updated on the car orthe latest diagnostics to code them. It only takes one bug in a the diagnostics or in a module and they could be stuck for many weeks.

    good morning Luis did merc put his original module back in just a thought they had nothing to lose to give your repair a go

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  4 місяці тому +1

      No.. they actually installed a new module...
      I initially trusted what they told the owner, and some time later, and I mean like a year later, (video for it as well...), the car came back for a completely different issue... and guess what..., I checked, and the module had no mark...😋
      So, they definitely had to replace it.

    What you're referring to as Mercedes is only a franchised dealer who paid to put a sign outside their door. Mercedes makes cars, it doesn't repair them. The radio module would have been sent to an electronics repairer. Some are better than others.

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  4 місяці тому +1

      I know that...
      Regardless of that, should have been tested before sent back to mercedes to be sold...
