Welp . Here in the EU , the 2.0 diesel is the jack of all trades on the majority of the cars . It's small enough so it doesn't cost that much in tax and insurance , and it's powerful enough with good gas mileage . You can go even further with small french diesel engines like renault 1.5 dci or Peugeot 1.6 hdi that get like 55 mpg(yes US mpg not UK mpg)

I drive diesel e39 530d for past 7 years and i love it.... It doesnt burn oil and it doesnt smoke like in ur clips.... Its stock car with all filters and im happy with it. If i wanted more power i can easly tune it for another 50-100hp while in meantime gas engines like to consume oil becouse they have worn out seals. Also its very hard and expensive to tune up petrol engines, since they dont have forced induction. Im talking about bmw e39, have that in mind.....

Of course, the chances of the Fuel Tank, and thus the car, blowing up are higher but I think it's an amazing alternative.
Of course I was thinking about Diesel Hybrids and whether using a Diesel Engine in a Hybrid System would be better than using a Diesel Generator in a Hybrid System. There isn't a lot of information about either of these as I've seen so I'll probably take a class and learn about these things

Petrol for my purposes is just better. It’s a case of when you blow a petrol motor it just kinda hisses and steams occasionally throwing pistons and various debris, however desil engines kinda make a big fireball and break everything, now I replace the motor in my car fairly often as I use it on track and as a result often go over red line... I have no issue with this as my car has had so many engines it’s kinda silly so it’s at a point where swapping it out isn’t an issue, however if I used desil motors I’d have to buy a new car every few months.
Yes I know that the solution is to stop over revving my car, quite honestly I do not care

Disel isnt less refined its just a longer chain hydrcarbon which means it requires more energy to combust but also releases more energy. Crude oil refinery used fractional distillation where it is heated in a huge tank and the differnt compounds ( differnt length hydrocarbons) boil and then cool down and settle in sections as petrol (gasoline) is more volatile it cools after dewsel alowing them to be separated not because the is more pure

I had a 2015 Audi Q5 TDI prior to VAG getting busted by the EPA for cheating on their emissions testing. When it was time to turn in that lease in 2018, their investigations and lawsuits were finally over. Of all the mothballed TDIs that were held on dealership lots nationwide, I was able to secure a 2015 Q7 TDI with 64 miles on the clock, that had never been sold. I got a huge discount on it, got the bigger capacity I wanted, over the Q5, and got a full warranty and Audicare maintenance program starting in August 2018. I love my TDI, as well as the ownership experience of Audis.
The "TDI fix" was implemented, to satisfy the EPA terms of their lawsuit, and I get a solid vehicle that should last me a few hundred thousand miles, with proper care & maintenance. :-)

So on average diesel is only 10-20 cents more expensive then gas… yet diesel on average get 30% more mpg. Theses new Diesel engines get better efficiency which includes how clean they are. EVs use lithium, maybe you should do a video on how much it cost to do a video on what it cost our plant to make the batteries for a EV. The future should be on alternative gas/diesel fuels. So if we get the cost down of separating it from everthing by let's say changing Planes, Trains, Rockets, Ships, Power plants to it. How about comparing burning Coal to Diesel? Because that is what EVs do. They get their power from the Grid, this burns Coal for power.

Diesel Gate ruined diesels here in the States, and as for the future, we can’t have fun gas-powered weekend sports cars unless we daily drive an electric one. That should help keep our beloved ICEs around a little bit longer.

Like the TDI version of the Audi RSQ8, only available in EU. 4 liter twin turbo V8 TDI. At one point (2009) they made a 6 liter W12 TDI Q7. That would be an amazing engine to have.

Diesel was/is not intended for anything except for work. All of the things that are done with these vehicles as personal toys are not what they were built for originally. So, it isn't fair to state that they are bad because they are used outside the main purpose that they were created for.

Hate to break it to you, but that's what basically every motor and engine ever designed was for. Do you think they were inventing better windmills in the 1500s because they wanted to win drag races?

@@DumbAngelDragon So, you would believe in using a chain saw to make toothpicks? That is basiacally what I meant. It isn't that I want to call you an A-whole, but you are acting like the other people that want to be sarcastic before fully understanding what someone is actually talking about.

    • @DumbAngelDragon
      @DumbAngelDragon 3 роки тому

@@beauxr.benoit1374 No, I fully understood what you meant. A gas engine was built to do work- not to build power. In the 1900s the steam engine was the workhorse engine, both common internal combustion engines were "only meant to do light work" like run a pump where it was impractical to use a boiler.
We tuned gas engines, and you can absolutely tune diesel engines, and you can tune electric motors. None of those things were "intended" for being used in racing, they were only intended to move a horseless carriage.
You can't make the argument that diesel is better suited for tractors and not for cars when the reality is that it's simply not true. Especially since if things had been marginally different in the 1920s, ALL cars would be diesel because they are far more efficient and simple to build.

Diesel is slow like could get more power out of an Diesel engine buy swapping fuel from diesel to propane and water injection diesel is known for having alot of torque and not having similar horsepower to match that torque so itz really slow 😏but they can be faster if you get the Horsepower up to 1000 or higher 🤷🏼
