      I like that attitude.
The British empire wasn't built by the government.
It was the individuals building businesses exploring the world for new items to buy and sell back home. It was the success of small entrepreneurs that necessitated the growth of the empire to protect trade routes from pirates and make trade easier by getting people to speak a common language, it doesn't matter how loud you say "I want to buy your silks and spices" if the other person doesn't understand.
A large group of small investors has more power than a government ever will, its up to the people to make their countries great. Government becomes corrupt and only interested in lining its own pockets if you don't keep them accountable.

If they the government cannot sponsor churches let them stay clear from church accounting. In church, why is it only on finance that they are interested? They also are supposed to engage on evangelism, visiting hospitals, praying for sick people to be healed ,preaching so that sinners will stop corruption, also they should engage on fasting and praying, going to mountain for prayer, holding rally's, casting out demon. Every Nigeria should respect themselves over church issue, this is not human society governance, it is Gods own business. Nobody has right over finance given to God. It is an insult to God for an infidel to touch holy thing. Be warned. Let kama control Nigeria lootings...leave Church of Jesus Christ alone, except you need Ananias and saphiras experience in act of the apostles. God who killed this family in act for lies telling over finance in act chapter 5 is still the one in charge of his church, who called Judas a thief is still in control. People are angry because pastors are making progress financially, and moving the church ahead. when pastors are wearing one trouser until it is won out, you people are busy insulting them that they have chosen foolish things. Now God has changed the scenario, people and government officials want to envy and start putting eyes. Where were they when the pastors are suffering? Beating, naked, hungry, killed? They should check what they sponsored. Period. Church money is holy. Only the pastors are called in the ministry. The government are not called they have defined labor and their own calling, God has already given the church pattern of operation . with the government, give sezzar what belong to him, his taxes. If I have money I will keep pastors moving because of their sufferings for mankind.

Stop it, do you know what it is to be a man of God, it means that if a human being is present and a jet some inhumane will take jet, just see how far you have gone. Remember, jet will not go to heaven while the man of God will be in heaven. Respect is reciprocal.

Westerners will treat you like humans, like individuals.
We will judge you for the hypocrisy of enslaving your own people and sending them to the Middle East to be treated like that, whilst calling westerners racist for actions made hundreds of years ago that white men spilt blood to end.
Yet slavery still happens legally in non white countries.
Britain took on so much debt we only just finished paying for it in 2015, trying to prevent the enslavement of Africans.
Certain westerners treat you with the better than you treat yourselves or other people of colour treat you.
I can't say much for the French, who still have a strangle hold on the currencies of its African colonies, but anglophile countries respect the independence of others.

The inhabitants of the said location do not EVEN recognize them (Africans) as human beings. The reason they treat Africans the way they do. They factor that is required in all this CAMA , Church & Nigeria Politics is Transparency. The moment any authority cannot be transparent it bring speculations. For example Pastor Adeboye visiting PMB is not an issue - but the time and he's silence brings another issue . Lack of Transparency & speculations (Imagine what poeple are already saying that he visited him because of CAMA - thank you Adeola for revealing that he visited him before) .

Your breakdown of the tax bill is top grade journalism. I really like how you separated people’s genuine emotions and concerns from the realities of the bill. Unfortunately there are Disingenuous and dishonest people who, for self interest, are very good at ginning up people’s emotions in other to cloud their better judgment. I have been a business owner in the US for over 20 years and I am also involved in a non profit. The Nigerian bill you described so eloquently is pretty much the same here in the US. The tax exemption code for charitable organizations like churches is called in short 501 (c) (3). My company and the charity that I am involved with, like many others, do quarterly and annual reporting( fillings)-all of which is subject to random audits if and or when federal( IRS) or state agencies see it fit. These government agencies have subpoena powers in case one chooses not to comply. I know this because my company was randomly chosen for audit in 2018. It was the most laborious and stressful exercise I have ever experienced in my entire life. Thank God I have an amazing accountant whose main principle has always been “run your company’s books like you are expecting an external audit”. For the longest time I thought he just likes to give me a hard time, that is until the audit. He scrutinizes every single purchase and business expense to a point of irritation.Fortunately Everything checked out-thanks to his diligence. By the way, he is Nigerian. Tax exemption is a privilege and not a right. African churches that have branches in the west comply with these same rules in those countries because they know that they will be in trouble if they don’t. Frankly, It is pretty straight forward. If you claim that you will be accepting monies from the General public for a specific charity, the government agrees to waver collecting taxes on those monies as long as they are used for their intended purpose. It is imperative that any responsible government put in place mechanisms for transparency and accountability in other to protect the general public form abuse. Hence the inception of the board of Trustees. The idea of the board of Trustees is to have a form of independent oversight of a charitable organization. Unfortunately, charities and especially‘independent’ churches in Africa and even here in the US and the UK have found ways to circumvent this check. Basically the ‘founding pastor’ puts together a team of friends and loyalists as members of the board of trustees. How else can a board of trustees approve the lifestyle of an individual pastor to exceed that of its charitable mission. It’s a shame! I can see then why a government will want to replace a board of trustees that doesn’t hold up to its basic oversight responsibilities. There are blatant examples of this all over the place. The question becomes trust or the lack there off in the government.
As for the China exemption , African leaders are playing with Fire that will be burning the continent for generations to come.

Your submission is great. However, there are some areas I think you should look at:
    1. On the NGO thing, churches were coerced into registering as NGO because churches would naturally want to do things right, not because they don't want to pay tax. Otherwise, why are mosques not registered as NGOs, yet they are exempted from tax?
    2. Similar laws to CAMA operates in SANE environments. You and I know nothing is sane about this Buhari's government. Are there no law that stipulates that appointments MUST be made to reflect Federal character? How come Buhari appoints his family members and people from his minority tribe to head ALL security agencies and agencies that has to do with funds in Nigeria? Can such a man be trusted to do anything with good intention? What if he removes the board of trustees of a church under flimsy excuses and replace them with muslims from his tribe?

Adeola, you have made an excellent point on the aspect of the CAMA bill, but I have a problem with alot of Nigerians, they tend to have a herd mentality on alot of important subjects and unfortunately they don't take action at the appropriate time (usually when they do the damages has been done).
However we have come to be experts at playing the blame game. I believe the issue of the CAMA bill can be sorted out easy without this much rankor as such the exaggeration by some christian bodies is uncalled for. If you to take action so and stop ranting about it ( that's my own perspective on the matter).
Secondly, the treatment of African by the Saudi is inhuman and should not be overlooked as it is the start of another race war altogether.
Thirdly I think people are miss placing responsibilities on men of God like Pastor Adeboye, for every society it requires an healthy level of participation and understanding from it's citizen which we lack. Also I don't believe that for a man of God his responsibilities go beyond where he has been called which is the church therefore I don't think politics should be mixed or associated with any Minister of God as we in Nigeria don't have a very good track record of political leaders.
Thanks for opportunity to comment 😁😇

Albert femi dero :The men of God were not only call to the pulpit but were also call to oversee the political leaders of their country, they are to pray for them, rebuke and advice them when they are off track.
Elijah was a national prophet like some of the Nigerians pastors of which God used to warn King Ahab and his wive Jezebel to desist from maltreating the masses, especially when the poor Naboth was killed and his vine yard taken by this wicked king Ahab and his wife, this was a king and his wife that were killing the citizens and the prophets that warned him against his evil leadership style, people were groaning under his leadership, shedding of blood was the order of the day,in fact king Ahab and his wife represent the political leaders in Nigeria government of today,Prophet Elijah publicly place God's judgement upon them and God backed it up by bringing it to pass, king Ahab and his wife died a terrible death, the curses were placed upon them after several warnings to desist from their evil ways, the ill treatment given to Naboth was more or less the same being giving to Saribu Leah, the Killing of the innocent ones, the massacre in the north especially in Kaduna etc,has the pastors in Nigeria collectively and publicly rise up to warn and declare God's judgement upon those leaders and the government? prophet Elijah can not be living in Nigeria and shedding of innocent blood will still continue or Lear will still remain in the captivity of Boko haram or herds men killing people , the boko haram would have gone into extintion
God giving responsibility to our national pastors is beyond the pulpit they are also to see to the good governance of the masses they are to use their God giving power to uproot &plant by determining who stays in power& who is to be removed by the God's giving power in them not to be romancing with the evil leaders.

@@Adeolaifasoro I agree with you on the authority of the men of God in the society, but I would like to remind you on the nature of our nation Nigeria, and how easy it is to tarnish the image of a man of God as well as his following.
The reality of the situation in Nigeria today is there are elements of corruption in almost every sector of the nation but as much there is evil there are also people trying to do the right thing too. My advice on this subject is that the change we want to see, starts with us and what we do. So to see positive change we must do positive change

@@mobolajialbertfemi-dero9993 yes you have spoken well, but come to think of it how many churches preach the undiluted word of God today? Evil ones go to churches that they are comfortable with a church that are only interested in their offerings and tithe but not with genuine salvation l quiet believe that change will start with individual person, family etc as those that were evil waiting to join political class are more than those bad that were running the government but it also boil down to our pastors rising up to their responsibilities,if those crowd that go for church services on Sunday can be touched by and large we will have a better Nigeria.

Truth be told the evil in the church and the society is to be expected as we are in an end time era for the church and world at large. So instead of leaving it in hands of pastors alone, they will need support.
But as usual I also recommend an ounce of caution as the men of God we have intrusted for guidance are also human and as such are capable of error and falling as astray. In overview I believe to ensure the positive change we are envisioning we must also be individually educated and must have the orientation to make decisions so as not to be driven by herd mentality

You are right when you said our leaders in Africa can't be trusted, and doubly so for majority of them in Nigeria. When they show you a finger, there are four in hiding. The law is much more than what is written on the pages of the paper. When implementation comes, the extent and way of doing it is at the wimp of the government of the day. So, Adeola, Nigerian CAMA is meant to do more than you can see on paper. If it passes, the reach and havoc it will wreak will be unimaginable.

My question is there 'HEAVEN' at all? The attachment we have with RELIGION and HOLY PILGRIMAGE places are sometimes unnecessary, there's heaven, theres Al-janah yet people in those countries don't practice what they preach..if only earth is like this and you promise me heaven, i wonder how true that is.
