I'm in a Medical Laboratory Science program, and I'm taking clinical chemistry this semester. You are literally saving my life! You have a gift! Not many people can teach and simplify difficult concepts the way you do. Thank you!
Hi Dr. Mike, I am preparing for the SAT Biochemistry exam in my home country in Papua New Guinea. Your teaching is very clear and easy to get along with. Thanks Dr. Mike... Kind regards Stivender Labeli From Port Moresby city Papua New Guinea 😊🎉
I am fascinated to understand all this in conjunction with cancer treatments offered using antineoplastons. In particular looking at Burszynski in texas and how he uses these treatments successfully and has been for decades. Perhaps if you can it would be great to understand how this treatment works because the usual ones dont in most cases.
wow thank you, your videos help me a lot. I dont really understand all of the things, because I am from Germany, but I have a question...I am working on a face cream formulation, and I am not sure which ingredient is better: peptide or proteins. Because we have peptids in cosmetic (for ex. acetyl-hexapeptid-8, synthetic) and we have proteins (for ex. hydrolysed rice protein, natural). what do you mean, which ingredient does work better for the skin, peptides or proteins? Or maybe is the same, because hydrolysed means that proteins are broken into smaller peptides? Which works better, If I use them together with fatty acids to penetrate better in the skin? Thank you, Marie
I am very conflicted between two amino acids. L-Lysine and L-Arginine. I've read over and over in many articles that L-Lysine blocks L-Arginine. If so, why do so many articles advocate combining the two? I am taking several, most recently taking Lysine, Arginine and Orthinine together because many articles say they create a wonderful synergy. but am always conflicted. Am I wasting product? I can't seem to forget that L-Lysine blocks Arginine, so each and every time I mix the two, I am worried I am wasting Arginine if I take it with Lysine (If indeed the latter blocks it.) I want to take both Lysine and Arginine. So now I'm wondering should I take Arginine in the morning and maybe Lysine at night, but not together? This is confusing.
unless u specifically have a health condition prescribed arginine, take Citrulline in place of arginine if u arent allergic to malic acid (citrulline malate has the malic acid) otherwise just get some L-citrulline
Do you have experience analyzing proteins in a lab setting? I am in the Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics department at my institution and I am currently studying bromodomain epigenetic readers which are part of the NURF nucleosome remodoling complex. After transforming BL21 E. coli cells with a GST-tagged plasmid that uses a T7 promoter(which allows ms to use IPTG to induce expression with a robust yield). I have no issue purifying the protein using agarose beads. I also make sure to use a wash buffer with high salt content to wash the non specific interactions off the agarose. Then I elute with a high concentration of reduced glutathione in the last buffer. I havr finally fine tuned the precision protease to cleave the GST tag from the protein - a simple polyacylamide gel confirms what I am working with. I always get wacky results using the S75 column on the AKTA FPLC. It seems I have a problem keeping the protein stable. I am currently trying a bit of glycerol to help keep the protein from denaturing, but my end goal is to be able to analyze using NMR - and glycerol is an issue here. Any hints would be much appreciated! Great information- yet again! Keep it up Dr. Guns! 😆

Every Dr Mike on UA-cam
Rightt!😂 and I don't mind
This was an extremely helpful presentation! The charges that influence protein folding make so much more sense now. Thanks so much!
Where is complete videos of amino acid and proteins
I watch your videos daily, I cant thank you enough for your content. It has helped me tremendously in Nursing school. You and Dr Matt are brilliant.
I don't feel like a simple thank you is enough to express how helpful this video was. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This guy is great. really helping!!!
I was just searching for proteins BUT SIRRRRR😩
Awesome work!
Can you tell the two pathway in how the amino acids gets used. Does the amino acids get converted into fats/carbs and what causes this to happen.
Nice
Can you mix protein with amino ?
And if not what are dose that not work combined?
Thank you
This video is rated M for masterpiece ❤️
There are two Dr Mike's
Perfect! Explanation.

Amazing!!
Bravo!
did he say that an amino acid has a nitrogen molecule❓ If so, is that true for all amino acids❓thank you
