To see this lady drive in the Colorado rockies in winter to get a load through well she may be lighthearted on canera but when it comes to driving she is all business hats off to you gutsy lady a darn fine professional
As a woman who also trucks, you make me soooo proud. 🤘You are most definitely the kind of professional that we need representing our industry. Thank you!
I’m 46yo female OTR driver and I’ve never experienced any negativity forwards me as a woman but got lots of help - if I needed or not - I feel very comfortable in trucking field - hugs 🤗
To my digital daughter: Your lust for life is so wonderful. After driving for 42 years it is so great so see a fresh honest view of trucking and life in general. Keep it up I love watching your vlogs after retiring.
You go girl !!! Very proud of your accomplishments. Old school lady Truckers Blazed a trail 50-20 years ahead of Newer Carriers. A lot of 67 - year old female Truckers are retiring. Now, as you have, newer Federal Motor Carriers can continue hauling FX doubles. Keep up the good work girl we're all very proud of you.
I want to say this channel is so spot on. It puts a smile on my face every time I see one. The videos, the music, the scenery and then we see Dakota's sticks and Shelby's smile then hear her laugh. BKM and you are making many of us smile each video. I do not drive trucks or big ones. One of the only channels I watch just because it makes me smile.
BKM is doing a great camera work! For my opinion it is for all of us - although I am not trucking - the best option to go the own way. You're doing just this with passion and huge experience. Chapeau!
You are truly a trucker with good experience and confidence. I love watching your videos and I wish you all the best! Great video effects, great dog, great Shelby!!
Shelby, you are such a beautiful soul, I wish there were more people out there on the road that had the zest for life and the happiness of others. I wish nothing but the best for you, Dakota and the rest of your team and the best success for your company
Sweet vid. Being so self-aware, trying to connect with everything around you and with time makes you a very beautiful person. And these shots by BKM are fantastic !
Just watched this video, sorry I'm so late, but I wanted to comment on the gender equality thought. I've only been driving for 4 months and I'm an older female, 57 to be exact, and I have had sooo much help out on the road. So many dock guys have been patient and helpful, whether waiting on me to get docked (I'm slow af) or explaining things to me that I didn't understand. Additionally, I've had tons of guys and gals helping me get parked in tight spots at night, give me advice, and one guy even bought me a coffee while giving me tips and tricks to help me get better. I have never had anyone deliberately treat me poorly and I've never felt singled out in any way. I think some people are quicker to help me out either because of my age or gender, but I feel like it's more because they think I will be easier to approach and more receptive to help than some guys might be. Just my thoughts and experiences. Shelby, you are the same age as my youngest daughter and I love your channel and think you are such an inspiration!!!
I appreciate this comment so much! I’m in my early 40’s and seriously debating getting my CdL to get on the road. One of the big things that scares me is being a woman alone, traveling long distances, and being in a heavily male dominated field. Plus my age. Your comment and vids like this really help give me the push I need for a career change. It’s nice to see how many ladies are in this industry and to hear how helpful everyone is. Be safe out there!
Your locations often look beautiful and remote. Speaking from a UK Perspective, I get the impression that you can travel for long distances in North America, particularly in the interior in areas with space populations and human habitation compared to the UK. In contrast in the UK, everything is compact, and much older. This is reflected by our road network, and the age of our settlements, as well as the legal dimensions for the size of vehicles travelling on our roads.
Love this format for the Q&As. Your an amazing woman to have accomplished so much at a young age. I think you have a very good future ahead of you!! I look forward to seeing each and every one of your videos!!
I’ve been to 48 of the states and I’ve flown over two million miles across the country in the last twenty years. But it’s been the long road trips across country that I love remembering. 500 mph is too fast. My back is too bad to drive for a living these days but spending 10 to 12 hours a day driving doesn’t sound bad, especially as a team driver with a good team mate. I’m real glad it works for you guys.
I have been trucking for 37 years. Still using paper logs. Have 1997 Freightliner FLD 132 Classic 500HP 60 series Detroit 13 speed. Run Georgia to Chicago and back drop and hook. I really enjoy the Channel. No GPS.
Your a freaking rockstar! I cant believe u have accomplished so much at such a young age thats so awesome! U r an inspiration to the field and have a great personality wish nothing but success and happiness

Happy to see you use your head about driving and don't take bad decisions like running with bunch or trucks and look ahead always so you see whats going on ,I drove 48 years and taught many people to drive the right way . God bless and take care always
Always try to stop and smell the roses. I’m trying a new root vegetable today. The rutabaga!! You can fry it, mash it, microwave it, boil it and it’s supposed to be good.
When the pandemic first started I went to the grocery and the entire produce section was cleared out. Except for the rutabaga. We ate alot of rutabaga that first month.
@@jacobd373 I had enough mashed rutabaga that day to last three days, and it was good. I cubed it, boiled it, and mashed it with butter. It was different, but good.

Excellent Q and A! And BKM did an excellent job filming the beautiful scenery (as always). I also enjoyed seeing some of the older "archived" footage, especially that beautiful waterfall which is one of my favorite of the drone shots!

Shelby's comment on automatic transmissions (and manual restrictions)...I went through a CDL class in Austin (Austin Community College). They had two trucks we trained on and both were automatic. I have a manual restriction on my license. While that could definitely be a problem in some fleets, I think most large fleets today are transitioning to automatic transmissions. Would like to get the restriction lifted some day but not worried about it.
Interesting to hear more of your thoughts. I now drive a Freightliner Cascadia, have driven a few Volvos. I agree on the FL point. I miss the Peterbilt 377 that I learned on though.
I have worked 'around' trucks for a while now. I have weighed them and worked with shipments of products. I like to be extra courteous to trucks on the road with extra space, letting them in, etc. I know the driving rules are strict and make it harder on drivers, but what else can we do to ensure we are doing our part. I think they may get blamed in some accidents, because people pull in front of them and don't allow that buffer space when braking. Is that true? I could see that would be an easy blame game. But the trucker is a guided missiles at the end of the day. They are bigger than us 4 & 6 wheeled vehicles. Also, we have experienced language barriers with drivers when it comes to receiving loads. Are drivers supposed to have paperwork/know what is on the load? I hope this doesn't come off wrong, but are the tests in different languages? I commend everyone for making a living, but I know it is difficult to help them know where to unload or if there are issues when they don't speak the same language as the receivers. Do you know of anyone that uses translators for that purpose or maybe dispatch?

Females are more accepted in the industry then they were in the 90’s and earlier. It’s good to see women on the road because they bring different skills and perspective
I could watch Dakotas random thoughts for hours
Salt Lake City is a beautiful area. Was fortunate to spend 4 days out there on a work trip and absolutely loved the area.
For some reason your videos always give me a lot peace
As a business owner in the trucking world I love your outlook love for what you do
What an absolutely beautiful soul you are. Love that smile and outlook.
OMG...BK speaks.
Well just sit, lay, down and PAW. LOL. Great video from U2, full of useful information topped with your wonderful wit and charm. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
Awesome video! Your Q&A sessions are so good. Your honesty is very refreshing.
Thanks for your thoughts Shelby! I agree that the human element is unlikely to dissapear with all the tech in the world. Was curious what was your take on it.
Well done and keep up the good work!
All the best from the UK
Nice vid. Was good to see interactions with Dakota. Y'all keep up the great work. Enjoy watching your videos
Another great video, tnx Shelby, keep on trucking.
Thanks for sharing Shelby. Take care.
Shelby is bloody beautiful anyway. No matter the lighting. Been drooling... er, watching her for ages now. Notice there's no engagement ring too! Shame I'm 30 years her senior and nowhere near good enough for such loveliness. Even if I do own a music production company!! I also used to drive trucks till I damaged my back some years back and now can barely walk.
Shelby I don't think you're going anywhere. I think you realize we're all way too addicted to you and your adventures. ❤
It’s great you travel with your dog. I’d never be able to do truck driving without taking my dog with me. Sadly my dog is too old to jump in a truck that high. Can you give tips on how to travel with your dog ? Do you stop more often? Does your dog ever get car sick? Scared?
