I personally prefer these kind of teenage high tones to his elderly squeal-like character that makes him sound more like Nick Cave. But thats just how the body evolves in time.
I am a big fnm fan but to be fair, slipknot did a very good job. i can honestly say (regardless of the merit of their music and how it stands against fnm) that slipknot were the best show just because they really seemed to get the whole crowd going. FNM as and will always be a personal favorite no matter what, to me it's like having a very important commodity back in my life after all these years. I missed these assholes very much.
@rayotron i'm sick of people using the term pitch incorrectly.. he technically sings in the same pitch as from the real thing because he hits the exact same notes.. but he uses a different timbre.. or tone in his voice. he doesn't sing in an octave lower or anything, he just uses a more.. manlier voice that's not as nasally.
I feel so lucky that this concert is on here, thanks so much... oh yeah, does it sound to anybody else like Mike is saying, have a dance, have a daaance, instead of evidence? we all know how he plays words against each other... any way thanks for posting...
I'm such a huge FNM fan and am stoked about them playing again, but they havent got what they had in the early 90's, look at the stuff from Rio 2 and u can see that Patton lacks the absolute magic he had then...

Are you referring to the way he threw his body around like a rag doll? At 40 years old, that's a little harder to do. Or are you talking about his vocals, because they're completely improved.
i'm just being fair, i would choose fnm over slipknot any day but that doesn't blind me, slipknot's set was impressive, it kept the audience asking for more, just a good show. But if we were to judge how influential each band has been, slipknot would lose by a long shot. I just wish i had been there for both shows.

Not referring to the funny joke Patton did at the beginning but Download needs to keep it's festival heavy and not have bands like limp bizkit, motley crue, and def leppard there again. Be a real shame if it turned into one of them trendy festivals like the rest. Although there were some great bands there, FNM stole the whole show and there couldn't have been any other group better than them there.

I disagree, but only because slipknots sound was f*cked. All bass and drums, couldnt hear any vocals or guitars.
