BMW illuminated switches, not needed, no one uses the indicators in my experience! Being serious, Honda and Harley need it with their weird control locations though.
Well despite asking Triumph numerous times, and various dealers, I'm yet to get a go on the Rocket - I'm sure it will happen, just never thought it would be this hard!!
I live in a very cruiser-centric part of southern California and I've never seen one on the road either. I reckon the typical cruiser buyer and the typical Ducati customer rarely overlap. I kinda dig it personally. But, it would have to be about a 5th or 6th bike for me to own one.
How interesting - if they're not in Southern California then where are they all?! ...thinking about it I didn't see one when I was there on my hols last year either.....just Harleys in fact.....

When the original batch of Hells Angles finally settled down in the 70's it was in East County San Diego (my home) There is still a strong 'motorcycle club' culture in the area and you never see the guys in club colors riding anything but Harleys. My neighbor has a Honda cruiser, which is rare enough out here, but then he isn't in a club either. Dunno where the Diavels live, was wondering that myself. Do Ducati actually sell many?
Just like mine....4000 miles on it now, and love every minute. Only problem so far, a stone through the belt... Diavel forum says remove all the belt guards and it won’t happen again.. hope not it was £500 for a new one fitted
Hmmm they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And that is what I call minimalism in terms of instruments. The GoPro on the handlebars is a bit odd, must be the wide angle lens. Your arms remind me of the bit in Close Encounters at the end when the creatures come out of the space ship! Anyway, that machine sure looks like it has some 'go'. Just don't do it in the daylight :o)
The one thing I don’t like is the handlebars being to wide. I fitted normal Diavel bars, and raised the forks through the yokes by 10mm... made a massive difference.
I wish I could see a picture of you sitting on the bike made from the side so I could see how bent forward you sit on it. I tried a similar bike and I couldn’t reach the handle bar with my feet on the footpegs (legs to the front) and visa versa.
Awesome bike! I prefer that standard model over the “S” just because of the looks! Those gray wheels won’t show the brake dust like the gloss black wheels of the “S”. I love this model and the Supersport model in the mat gray color. Great video!

I was looking at this and the Rocket III. For me it was really no contest - the Diavel was a great bike and better sounding but the Rocket III was the easy winner. I quickly came to love the cartoonish overkill of the Rocket looks, and I liked the engine and transmission better as well. Add to the equation that the Rocket is significantly less expensive and the choice was easy. Now 500 miles into my Rocket III and couldn’t be happier with my choice.

After 3 weeks you’ll want to buy that bike. Nothing else looks as cool and goes as fast. The only flaw is that harsh hit in the spine over big bumps at speed. Supposedly, there’s a fix for that, Just admit it though, it’s a total blast. I have an XDS since last summer and it’s the best bike I ever had. It’s my 3rd Ducati, and it shares the garage with my air cooled EFI Bonneville T100.

Is this ok for a rider of about 5'6? I know the seat height is fine at around 29 inches.. usually I can do around 31-32 before getting uncomfortable but the pegs and handlebars?
Horsey people...think they’re entitled. My daughter had a horse so I know what they’re like. I’d like a go on a Diavel, but wouldn’t have one as my only bike.
The Torque monsters are the KTM 1290 Superduke R or the discontinued King, the unreal Yamaha V-Max 1700, not Ducati Diavel or XDiavel. Good as they are, have to disagree about the handling, too long in my opinion resulting in some really hairy moments and squaring off the front tyres rapidly which caught me out. Apologies for disagreeing but sold my Diavel and still have a V-Max and Superduke R! Nice how that horse rider thanked you for being as quiet as possible, don't you just love unlicensed road users.
To be fair it's possible that look from the rider was more due to her being intimidated by the mean attitude that bike exudes. Like looking at a passing leopard.
If I had £20k burning a hole in my pocket, I had other bikes in the stable and I wanted a cruiser with exclusivity then I would probably go for the New Rocket 3...... Now that is a bike that turns heads!! Maybe the next bike for you? ;-)

I've got a Jawa 350 two stroke. I suppose I ride a relatively "exclusive" bike. It isn't quite as fast as a Ducati.

If I was spending 20K on a bike I would be buying a Rocket 3. This is a very beautiful bike though, I will give you that.
Yeah, me too. The X Diavel looks quite good, however the Rocket 3 looks stunning to me. On the CCs/£, a Rocket is much better value !

Natural habitat for a horse is obviously a town. You see them rowed up in parking spaces with their riders in the local saloon ! Stick to fields hoss riders !
If people are going to ride their horses on the road, they should have to pick up their shit, same as dog owners.
Ride your horse in a paddock or on a bridal path. Not on a 40mph road and then get annoyed at me because your horse doesn’t like it, as it dumps ass all over the place.
Horse rider obviously has a preconceived idea about motorcyclists ( may even be justified to an extent ) . I have a preconceived idea about horse riders .....................oh, and cyclists
