4. WHY isn't the video in ULTRA REALISTIC SUPER HIGH DEFINITION? Because unlike your rich ass that can afford a KILLER PC, I have to use what little money I have, to make sure that there's a roof over my head and food on the table before I can spend it on things like CPUs and GPUs.

THE CHANNEL:
This channel is about Kerbal Space Program and can consist of SSTO building tutorials and rocket building tutorials. Some times the videos contain bad language and adult humor but on a low level. In these videos no planet is safe as we can explore space together by landing on places like Duna and Jool and build large Duna colonies or orbital space stations. Also, Interplanetary SSTO builds seem to be a hot topic in the KSP community so I will be touching on those as well. I also build SSRT space craft. These are fun to build and easy to fly! Warships or space warships are one of my favorite things to make. Stock weapons can be very challenging and so when building them over time , you get to see the evolution of the designs. Same thing with the Warships. They get better and better with each new design.
Now , I know it's considered cheating but Kraken drives are a fun way to put things like warp drive ( like in Star Trek ) and or hyper drives ( like in Star Wars ) in your Kerbal space program game. These game mechanic loopholes are fun to figure out as you find out how they work and how to incorporate them into your star ship design.
Everything from Outposts on far away moons and Mining Stations around asteroids and comets, you name it I've ether built it or it's on my to do list! I still haven't really explored things like building SpaceX starship or any of the NASA spacecraft, and I think that's because it been done to many times. Recreations of spacecraft can be found almost everywhere on UA-cam now and so making yet another one seem redundant. Only if the spacecraft recreation is of one that I loved as a kid will I even attempt to build it. Like the Apollo Moon Lander, or the whole Apollo rocket! Now that rocket was cool!
Many people have ask me if I'm ever going to wear my Mandalorian helmet ever again for my videos. And , yes. when the time is right, and I get a new wabcam, I will be dawning the helmet once more!

This is by far one of the coolest shuttle builds I've seen in a while
Time to be a nerd about Shuttle 2
It was meant to have two extra booster engines for launch that get expended during flight, and four external tanks: two booster tanks and two tanks for launch and orbit. The payload bay was insane as well, it opens by flipping the engine section in the back down, and would have two robotic arms there. The best part about it though, is how the cockpit was a self contained LES. In the case of an abort, it'd just pop off and leave, and it can afford to do that because the canards are now acting as the wings for the cockpit, and would land under skids.
I love the concept and build either way, not trying to criticize it, just sharing my knowledge :P

Solid design! there's nothing more satisfying than building a shuttle with repeatable results. I think the mod you're talking is FreeIVA and it's totally worth it.
Free IVA is on ckan! Also I saw your too screenshots of this ship and did my best to build it. it's not as successful as yours but it's a wip.
Wing incidence is generally a not so great idea for a spaceplane or hypersonic vehicle. There are multiple reasons why, but its use is usually compensation for poor takeoff performance (too large a static margin, overweight, lack of flaps, etc.) and poor design. The reasons why we avoid wing incidence on supersonic and hypersonic vehicles is two fold. The first is obvious, it increases induced drag at zero angle of attack (AoA) which is supposed to be minimum C_D for parasitic drag. By adding wing incidence you offset the induced C_D vs. AoA curve, leading to overall more drag at positive angle of attack. The second reason is aerodynamic efficiency (C_L / C_D or L / D). Somewhat counter-intuitive, but aerodynamic efficiency increases with increasing AoA, but only up to a certain point. This critical AoA varies depending on the airfoil. After the critical AoA, aerodynamic efficiency drops. So by adding wing incidence, you are offseting this curve too and reducing that critical AoA. There are other reasons, but they are not simulated in KSP. If all else fails, a better way to acheive the wing incidence you want is to have a higher nose wheel.
nice video this is really a cool concept, I remember when I made my own version and I looked from Nasa concepts and one of the design also had a launch escape system.

Hey VAOS, where did you get the volumetric clouds from? Whenever I try to open Google Disk and get the file from blackrack themselfs it says that the requested file does not exist. Do you still have to pay for the mod?

I think your math on the working hours is wrong. It shouldn't be working 60 hours at your current pay, it should be you ask them for a 50% pay increase, then you can go back to working 40 hours! Problem solved.
Very nice video! I loved the fact that the SSTO launch profile worked so good. BUUUUT, hypersonic reentry vehicles in practice cannot have wings as big.
I HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU!! If you increase the pressure, temperature and acceleration sensitivity in KSP, you might see that the wings break. So would you like to give this another shot with the shuttle wings in KSP?
And here I thought I read somewhere that rocket SSTOs are more efficient in vertical take-off.

You possibly discovered why NASA didn't use the design, then rolled it to the runway and said, hold my lox.
Could well be why the real life STS includes solid boosters.
That is a good looking bird with a nice payload capacity. I love the idea of ferrying big orange tanks into long orbits to use as gas stations. My fave mission to date was making a series of 6 gas stations that have near kerbit intercepts that Id launch missions too, to ultimately get a lot of fuel in orbit around Jool for another set of satellite missions. To inject 38 satellites into Jools orbit for 100%, 24//7/365 communications coverage. They used the gas stations as relays of course, so technically it was 44.
I am extremely happy to see the space shuttle be relevant and spoken about even to these days. I love the space shuttle and any related content, and seeing it build be you it's a ksp dream come true. Very cool concept. You should make more creative reactions based on concept crafts from the real world. I think it would be really cool. There are many cool crafts from Germany, Russia, Asian countries and other regions that have their own style of building space craft. It would be cool to see them made on ksp by you. Yeah It's FreeIva, you can move around in IVA, and grabs some props and have fun. Like taking a fire extinguisher to propel yourself... ^^

once again absolutely SWEET video. I think the mod you mean is freeIVA(which is on ckan but I'd recommend DE IVA Extension (also on ckan) which adds loads of buttons and functionality to IVA and I've also seen some custom configs for the mk3 cockpit which add a HUD, might be worth looking into
Stuff like this is what KSP was made for. Dredge up your favorite "alternate" design from 1978, give it a few improvements (because we are in the future after all), and show NASA how it should have been done.
Just in case you do a mk2 version, please add the LES. 💥💨👍

I think its the original rcs graphics. there was a update a long while ago that deleted it. no clue why they did that.
I feel like downturned winglets would be both safer in terms of tank jettison clearance and more energy efficient by pushing the drag vortex further away from the point sources of the drag. Thoughts?

When you get around to your updated ssto guide please go into more depth on the sort of re-entry issues this had. Because it sounds a lot like the problems that have scuppered most of my large ssto attempts.
Really nice design and one idea to take it a step further is using nuclear for the shuttle's main engines like they did in the series For All Mankind

I built the SSTO that you showed that Mike also built, my first time I actually were able to get to orbit and deorbit successfully.
