WOW! Thank you! I keep seeing those cheap silicone lanyards from Chinese wholesale sites. While I was curious, I really didn't want to fund that kind of shopping, nor do I want to wait a month for a cheap, smelly version of something I can readily make myself. Thank you for this!!!
I followed your tutorial, (well done, by the way!) I used 3/32" paracord and Cobra/Square sliding knots as replacements for the plastic cord locks. On the backside, where the left cord crossed in front of the cameras, I used a locking clove hitch, to tie and pull it together with the right side, (centering them on the phone). It's so amazing that a Master such as yourself puts so much effort to share your expertise with "your students" . . . What you do with knots is not only beautiful works of art, they're magical. Thank you
Thank you for the comment! That's also a great tip about using the clove hitch, I am going to try that myself. Also, I am far from a master, I'm just good at translating information I learn into video form, but I appreciate the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video.
The weavers of eternity: you know, if you were to put that phone in that harness upside down relative to the way that you have it right now, you’d have access to your charging port, assuming it’s at the bottom center, and your lens for your camera wouldn’t be blocked. My phone has a sort of similar set up, and I was thinking about redesigning the harness to fit my phone because of those limitations, but then I realized you already had the problem solved for me if I just flip the phone in there upside down. Nice design; my phone case has gotten a bit loose, and nobody wants to go shopping During a pandemic for something that’s not absolutely essential, so this will have the double purpose of securing my phone in its case a little more solidly as well. Thank you. Love the design!
Nice! Just what I needed. Thanks. I just noticed that if you pass the right strand through the left side of the hitch and vice versa (0:34), you would avoid the crossing that happens near the knot that happens when attaching the phone. Cheers!
Outstanding. Very nice, worked great, exactly what I needed to secure my phone in my kayak. The LIFEPROOF case keeps it dry, but it won't float. LOL This gives me much comfort that I won't lose my phone. Totally awesome!
I’ll have to put on instagram all the things you have me making😂Amazon thanks you for all the paracord I have bought lol. Thanks for the content and awesome stuff you make and excellent instructional step by step easy to understand directions you provide😎👊 U Da Man bud🤜💯🤛
This is soooo cool.. i used the previous design and now this one with my cell phone(s) and ham radios. I then have something to hang from in a car, for example (like from a simple s-hook from a car vent)
I make a lot of lanyards for work and try to avoid using any plastic hardware as it makes a sharp noise if if taps anything kydex or plastic. For tensioning sliders, I use the celtic button knot and run the cordage through the middle. You can tension them tight enough to hold better than plastic hardware but have to be careful to to tension the knot too much or its a pain to slide.
Thanks a lot. I tried on a iPhone 6. Looks cool. Though on iPhone the charging point , comes just under cow's hitch. But it is flexible enough that you can make enough space to be able to charge the iPhone or connect iPhone to a computer.
I was trying to do something like this to my earbuds case(momentum tws 3). Like a protection thing but i couldn’t figure out how to apply this type of thing to my earbuds case. Your ideas would be amazing.
Cool…but what happens if the phone/card gets caught in something? Lanyards these days have a breaking device on them…can this be incorporated into your lanyard?
Mhm, o.k. interesting ........ is it possible to secure the crossings at the phone.......because they might slip and if you do it with a heavier kind of kit than a phone it might fall out! ✌
I made your phone holder with para cord. It was still too loose for my liking. As much as I tried to tighten down all the cord, it still seems to me that it would come off. What do you think? Please let me know.
I was actually working on this video last week. It just so happened that he did the same thing. I also did not copy him as I learned it from my friends as CBYS Paracord. They uploaded this technique 3 months ago here: ua-cam.com/video/y9OXvNkpGEw/v-deo.html
@Voodoo Yam , I typed a long comment that I've been seeing follow videos from that channel here with modifications. That seems to be gone . I understand you both are doing it for free , but what ever happened to my comment

So simple yet so effective, thanks a lot!

Thanks for the great tutorial. I didn't have the cord locks, so i used the celtic button knot And it worked well

I'm a beginner. I've just made this for my ID card. Thanks
LOL, good job there Mr. Wick.

I don't mind the plastic, at the same time I love your approach.
Going to use this to hold a deck of cards

Very nice. 🔥 👍
If you don’t have cord locks, could you also use the taut-line hitch as a replacement?

Obrigada. Aqui no Brasil não tem à venda.
Do you think this would be as effective with a bungee cord?

Thank you ❤️
Pity it covers camera lens
It depends on the phone of course and I have another version that is less prone to covering the camera lens.
Mhm, o.k. interesting ........

Please send me a link for the cord locks. There are several different ones.
Nice but prefer the other on you did as can still use the camera on the phone or tablet..... Great work though
Hi … can you please send a link to that other video , where you can use the camera or iPad ?
Thank you 🙏🏻
All it's missing is an Ethereum sticker.
Cool. I lovet
👍,,, Thank you
I would use this for an ID badge holder for sure… but I don’t know if I would be willing to risk using it on my phone… I am a klutz after all lol
