- Come along with me as I hunt for the elusive morel mushroom here in Tennessee. We've had an unusually warm last 2 weeks which has caused the morels to pop up a little bit early this year. So come along with me as I check out my spot and to my surprise find some beauties and get quite excited!

Sorry to the previous commenters who had commented on this video the first time I uploaded it. I had to re-upload it due to some things I needed to adjust. So I'm sorry I lost those comments but please note I do appreciate them.
Always exciting to find big morels! loved the vid, some beauties in your patch.
Thank you.
Yes, anything involving hunting and studying giants, I'm all for it
Still waiting for the Morels to start popping here in central Pennsylvania but the weather has been up and down a lot. Crappies are biting pretty good though. 👍👍
We went out crappie fishing yesterday, caught 8 nice slabs. Hoping to get some more this week!
That's amazing, what a lucky individual to find a whole basket of them
I can’t wait. I may need to borrow your lucky basket though👍🇺🇸
😁😁😁
So glad I found you I’m so new at picking still haven’t found my first one yet but I’m in Michigan so probably be April before i finally get my first one so excited to get started
Warning, it can be very addicting, LOL... This time of year my brain turns to mushrooms.
They are out in SC now too👍
awsome! I'm waiting on the weather here in the middle of W.V. needless to say I love everything about morels. hunting them is Mt favorite
Mine too. I look forward to this time of year. 😊
What a huge morel! Do you eat the stem too?
Yes, You can eat the entire thing.
Nice haul, so much earlier than us up north. Our peak season coincides with the redbud trees blooming, is it the same in TAG? Hey, thanks for sharing!
We usually say when the Dogwoods are blooming, which is typically late March or early February.
@@tag_caver Gives me a idea that we will be early too, we change the saying to "April showers bring April mushrooms"
Did the cold hurt them? I think they will be ok heard of people pick morels after a dusting of snow. Like putting them in the fridge. Nice video happy hunting
My husband says the same thing, it's like putting them in the fridge, LOL. I am going back in a few days to check again for more. Thank you.
how is the season now? do you head higher up in beginning april?
I live next to the Cumberland Plateau. We find them in the valleys first. Starting finding them the first week of March, which was warmer this year. Typically find middle to late March. They will come up on the mountains about a month after the valley.
I'm in east Tn. As well haven't checked mine yet you in the Eastern part as well or middle or west.
Marion County
@@tag_caver ya I just checked mine I guess they aren't gonna come up or they never took. I know last year I went and checked and noticed turkeys had scratched up the whole place. So I guess they ruined my spot.
@@wildfire365 I would say keep checking. I've got two other spots that haven't flushed yet!! As time nears, I start checking my spots every three days. Don't give up just yet!
OH, so that happened. Made a comment on this and apparently it was lost.
Yea, I had to scrub out some details lol...
What part of Tennessee?
Marion County
Good job stalking that mushroom LMAO! Hunting mushrooms!!!
Thanks 😊
Why would you use a screen shot of an old dried up morel for your video?
That morel is past edible!
Thanks, but not if you are dehydrating it!!!
