    I have a 2006 Forest River Work and Play toy hauler. I was wondering why there's no studs in my garage walls that have gotten wet and moldy in spots. I've torn out, in shreds, the wet parts and found my window isn't framed neither. I'm so glad I found your videos on this. Now, how soon can you come to South Carolina to help me tackle this? I'm not kidding! I'm a single older female and need help with this. Man, I wish I learned carpentry skills in my younger years.

    Thank you I know this is old but I am in the same situation with a horse trailer I bought I didn’t even know frp was a think should have done my research also I’ll probably never sell it it wouldn’t be worth what I’ll have in it

    Good vid. Thanks for sharing that with us; it's a great caveat for us potential used trailer/rv buyers.

      Thanks, it was a real eye opener for me :) So far the repairs have been holding up great!

    I was hoping to see the rest of your trailer rehab. Is there a Part 2 to watch? I am not finding it.
    Thanks for the vid. Settles my fears after finding some delamination on my Work & Play toy hauler. Not sure if I'll tackle it myself or have someone do it, but regardless, thanks for showing all the steps!

    Can I ask how much you spent on the repair materials & how much did you pay for the trailer? I'm looking at something similar would like to know what's a good price and what I'm expecting for repair costs

      Well as to what I paid for the trailer (too much), I gave $4600 due to it being an aluminum frame and I did not do a close inspection because I did not know what FRP was or that it could rot. As I recall on the repair materials, paint and Raptor bedliner I was in the $700 range for supplies. I did new brakes too and that took me up to about $11.00 in supplies. I would do it again only if I get a better deal on the trailer. If I were to sell it I suspect I would be a little under water. Hope that helps! Curt

    It is probably not Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic. FRP will yellow and become brittle when exposed to UV rays because it is plastic. It is recommended for interior use only. It might be filon.

    where do you get those hex head "nut certs" as you called it . I need to replace them on my trailer

      I was able to find them at a couple of local tractor trailer repair shops. In Nashville Trailer Service & Rental www.tsrllc.net/ was able to sell them to me by the bolt and nut. Every place I looked on the internet wanted to sell them by the hundreds like this www.google.com/shopping/product/1?q=frp+bolts+and+nuts&biw=1257&bih=647&prds=epd:15216231167859311902,paur:ClkAsKraX9A7kivrZ2MZVi9sxF0miikyQa_Owj6If4EkoUp0_vbi599BC75teQQk71nxrMdohZIxUmOPl1On_mFCnGXrLsdVW3N7QPTXt36xt41dd-W04xXtHhIZAFPVH71JXjWdgcuGiroOd3YwPmw16Rsy0g,pid:15216231167859311902,prmr:1&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjzipqXiIveAhXyhOAKHaQhCMQQ1CkIkAUoAA

    FRP does not contain any wood
    FRP is Fiber reinforced plastic
    It is the most common used product in commercial kitchens where moisture is a problem
    Just thought I'd give you this information

      @Fulloctanegarage  5 років тому +1

      Mine clearly has wood in it, if it was plastic it would not have had wood rot. It may be fiber reinforced wood but always heard them called FRP

    • @3Ferdog
      @3Ferdog 5 років тому

      Well it has to be something different than FRP
      I use it all the time
      Right now I'm converting a cargo trailer into a concession trailer and FRP is what is usually used, due to the fact that it doesn't rot or absorbs moisture
