- Paint your lawn. Really? I want to show you some thing I did that may make you want to rethink the concept of painting or dying your lawn. Lawn paint has come a long way and there are more and more companies offering material that will make your dormant or dry grass look like a green and healthy lawn. I am not a proponent of this, but I am not against it either.
I want to show you a unique material I used that got my brain working and changed my perspective as to when and why this could be beneficial.

It's refreshing to see that everything is not always perfect or what people want you to perceive as perfect!
Everybody and everything has a starting point. This green is work. It’s fun and rewarding, but it’s work. Winters are brutal here but in a few weeks, everything will take shape.
Thanks for sharing a look into your “lab”. I always learn something. My lawn and I have a date with RGS coming this weekend. Great start to the year so far. This will be second app of season.

Yeah, it was a surprise. One week made a difference.
Obviously not on a green. But a good secondary study would be the effect of laying something like milorganite on the lawn. Thick to the point where the black prills can capture more heat from the sun and transfer that energy into the soil. Clearly, the negs to that option is the added phos into the lawn if you do not want it.
There’s a black sand material that is often used for this specific reason. it will create a warming effect around the grass and it also tends to help with winterkill. I don’t think you could really see a difference up on a lawn, it would have to be really shortcut Grass to pick up that radiant heating effect. That’s where maybe something like a pigment paint might do better.

JP, I came home from work today and applied a second app of fertilizer, my first application was on March 30 and we had temps in the 70’s/ even some 80’s and of coarse after my application we had 6-8” of rain which would’ve been good but then the temps went back to the mid 30’s for highs?! I’m a little early for this application but the front looks bad yet in my opinion and I’m going to push it like hell this year as you know what is going on here this fall! Fingers crossed that it all comes together! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I used grass paint in late November for the purpose of preventing winter burn. The winter before the whole front yard suffered winter burn and took until May to start to recover. This past winter had very little winter burn. You don't have to worry as much because of snow cover. I'm wondering what it would do to prevent snow mold.
Yeah I don’t know what it will do. Maybe the darker color would keep snow off a little longer
Thanks for this! I bought the paint but never applied it… ran out of time in the dormant Bermuda season.. I definitely will be considering it next season! Still hoping to be one of the granular testers!

The granular version will be hitting online stores in late May, early June. The liquid will be available first, we are waiting on final retail

How did the experimental granular work out? Did you get enough takers? I’ve got 3 lawns to try it out on now.
What about painting it black with RGS and/or Humic ? guessing it would wash into soil maybe and not last as long on the blade. Off topic did you do all the stone work on the terracing? its something so different for us flatlanders.
It would wash through immediately. In the rock work, my buddy Travis did all the work on it. He’s a master rock Waller
