    Love my kyosho outlaw pro for sure! So much fun, always have been impressed with how well it drives. That metal front skid can bend if you hit it. I race mine around in the back yard and it's by far my favorite truck on that course, tight with some jumps and a decent 3ft drop. Cheers!

    I like the green paint job you have. I'm more 10th scale Kyosho, and Tamiya size cars. I have 2 RTR Outlaws, 1 came red, the other came golden. And 2 also have 2 kit trucks still in their boxes. I opened them to use stock metal plate as a template to make plates for the RTRs out of nonstick aluminum pans. I put 4 lights on the front, their not as fancy as yours but really bright. And I did buy a tail led rear bar that I haven't installed yet. Mine are both swapped to 3300kv brushless and probably go 35mph on 2s. I did run it on 3s, just once. It's too crazy to drive on the street more than a couple of rips. Lawn too tall to run at the park. Both have stock kyosho transmitter and receiver, then added a gyro to help control it. I took the foams out of the tires since the tires are so hard. I'm just upset that there are no optional upgrades for this truck. Where do you get the aluminum gears for $60.00. To protect your body use mesh tape with shoe goo to reinforce the sides to cab area back to the tail gate area. Nope it did not get quieter, once I took the gearbox apart and remeshed the pinion gears. I also have the 2 kits, thinking someone will come up with an aftermarket kit that you can mount the motor in the Chassis. Bought 2 Kyosho gyro radios for the kit cars from a store in Japan, and shipped to the states, for less than you can buy overpriced in america. I don't run Castle in anything. I would be broke if i did.

      I was wrong about the price of the metal gears, they are more like $110 Taking the foams out is a good idea, I will try that. I hear that using an Associated spur and Robinson pinion makes it quieter.

    Beautiful truck. I love what Kyosho is doing. Best in the body game in my opinion. I see they announced a drift car but the key takeaway is the body is clipless mounted. Maybe the days of body pins will start to fade with Kyosho. That in itself is amazing. Thanks for sharing this build. Amazing RC’s at affordable prices. 😎

    Well done mate, that looks EPIC.!!
    It looks so cool driving around, especially in slo-mo.!! 👍 👍
    I've almost bought one of these so many times, but I've heard bad things about the gears, specifically that they can't handle brushless power..
    As far as I know there are no aftermarket gears available for it.
    I know everyone says these trucks are about the realistic handling & not speed... But I want handling & speed.! 😉 😉 😂 😁 👍👍
    I still might get one, fit a mild 2S brushless system & just make sure I've got spare gears.! 😉
    Stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🙏

      @rcilluminati26  15 годин тому

      Hello Scotland! Get one! Really nice kit for the money. There are steel gears available but they are like $110. I think brushless on 2s will be fine if you keep the punch set low and don't drive like a basher.

    • @alantaylor353
      @alantaylor353 14 годин тому

      @rcilluminati26 Thanks mate.!! 👍 👍
      You might have just helped me decide to get myself one.! 😉 😉
      Hopefully I'll turn out to be as pleasantly surprised as I was when I tried my first Tamiya, again, it was the plastic gears that put me off, it turns out they're as tough as nails.!!!
      Oh yeah, it's definitely not a basher.!
      I barely drive my actual bashers as bashers tbh.! 😉 😉
      I aim to have as much fun with my RCs as I can & take them home in one piece.
      It's nice to know my Mojave 4S or MT8 can do double backflips 60 feet up in the air, but I won't be trying it.!
      I much prefer to drive in a more realistic way... Also, I can't drive that well.!! 😂 😁
      Cheers mate..!
      Subbed & liked & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🙏

    Quality built, scale RCs are so much FUN. You’re spot on… It doesn’t always have bash like a Kraton or an XMaxx to be “worthy”
    Today’s RCs are already so durable compared to OG Tamiyas that every modern day RC is enjoyable

    Very nice Kyosho truck! I'm in love with this body! I currently have a mad van and I plan to purchase another mad van. Go in yellow! It would be very interesting to see a top speed at 2s with that 12 turn titan engine I do about 22.5 mph with my mad van and the G14 Turns motor, which is also brushed at 2s! Thank you very much for sharing,You definitely don't have to go 30 mph to have fun! I also have a lot of fun with mibmad going at 22-23mph and would be absolutely happy with 25-26mph

    What you did with your Beams kit makes me think about similarly spacing the wheels out on one of these Kyoshos and running a short course body. I used to have one and my biggest gripe was traction rolling on high grip surfaces, so being wider would help. They are cool trucks, will be watching to see what you do with yours.
    Edit: regarding the gear noise, changing to an Associated spur and a quality pinion fixes it. I used a Robinson Racing pinion. I don't have the specific part number handy for the spur but you can find posts online from others that have done it.

    It would reqlly be interesting to see a axle swap with the transmition inside. I have one too and run it on brushless and the durability of the gears is really lacking. But if you convert it what type of transmission would one use?

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  2 дні тому

      Good question, I wouldn't want to use a trans that very heavy so maybe an Axial 3 gear. Ive read that the stock setup is still the best handling so maybe its not even worth it.

    I have the same truck, I designed and printed an interior roll cage as well as scale accessories like fuel tank, it looks proper scale now. I love this rig. I'm curious as to why you're not running it in cold weather? I've been running mine in sub 0F temperatures since I got it (I live in Canada) and it's a blast on packed snow. The truck has actually never seen above freezing temperatures.

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  17 годин тому

      Awesome, It def needs an interior. Happy to hear it holds up well in cold. I've broken a lot of plastic parts in cold weather so I hesitate to run some of my trucks this time of year.

    I really like the look over all and as a kit at £245 UK, but I must admit liking it to drive and look scale I do not like the MOA set up, I suppose it would grow on me after all I run 5th gas so have to make allowance for not getting a full scale look as the intierior has a 50cc gas motor in it.
    I have a LOSI Superlaser new not used yet due to the weather and busy time of year for me, I also have a 30degree North Super Desert Truck, a TRAXXAS UDR. my favourite gas vehicles are my two Kraken RC Trophy Truck and the Ultra 4 buggy and the FID-RC Dragonhammer Class 1, then my HPI Baja 5SC and Kraken Class 1 body/cage conversion, and my LOSI 5ive-T which I used to race.
    I am like yourself the more scale the better and also get more pleasure building and modifying them, only have one crawler the Rlaarlo 1/7th Jeep, nothing I have is stock. Without sounding weird if I was not in the UK I would be out driving as you do, the down side here in the UK the number of people who like the Pre-Runner Trophy Truck etc is limited.

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  2 дні тому

    • @rcilluminati26
      @rcilluminati26  17 годин тому

      I think thats the trade off for the heavy rear axle setup. The stock tires are pretty stiff and the cold makes it even worse so I'm thinking a lot of that can be tuned out eventually

    Also hardbodies.. it seems like a money grab some of the lexan.
    We need more scale parts.
