- A big upgrade to my Silverado. Easily back up to my camp trailer now. Install was straight forward but a little 12V knowledge is helpful for finding the right circuit to tap into.

Thanks for the info about the constant power wire. I can see my camera going down the road now. Thanks Again
You can connect to lime green wire on trailer reverse light its way easier.
I have been using double add to fuse holder to add power supply for additional electricity requirements. No need to spice into your vehicle wiring. Fast and simple
I pick that same spot for camera before watching this video. It was the cheap remote one with monitor. Just replaced it with new one to hook up to new Sony head unit. Looks good.
Funny how you don't want the grid lines. I bought a similar camera and it doesn't have the lines. I actually want the grid lines. Haha. Like a saying my father always said: "People with straight hair curl it, and those with curly hair straighten it." Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for the details man
A little Idaho dirt coming out of that grommet! Lol. Nice video, I have a Silverado also. Thanks from MN
Thanks 👍
Thanks you.
Damn that camera actúa looks pretty good . Think ima bout to buy it
So did you have to tie into the trigger wire on the back of the radio ? Or did you just hook up the cam feed
The head unit had a camera wire.
I had read that if you mount the camera with teh tabs up, the image on the monitor will be upside down and if you turn the monitor upside down to try to accommodate for that, the image will be "mirror" to actuality.
LK AT THAT RUST FREE STEEL❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸 here in New England that’s stuff is ALL RUST COLORED after just one year☹️. Unless it gets “OILED” yearly .....nice job bud🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Radio model ?
I need to do this to my cam. My cam is off to the side. Do you remember the measurements on the metal piece?
I'm sorry I don't. But hope you can work it out. Mine has never wiggled even a millimeter.
No worries! I worked something up. I cut my metal piece a tad bit short so I ended up just putting 3M double sided tape making sure it won't wiggle off. Thanks for the idea! A much better home for the backup cam to be.
@@IdahoReloader I am doing the same exact set up on my Silverado. I have a question though on the camera wire did you run power to the rear and the front? Or just the rear?
Just the rear!
Do you have a view with the hitch in?
No, but watch for an upgrade video coming soon with hitching up footage. Thanks for watching!
@@IdahoReloader Thanks! trying to decide which camera to order and wanted to see your view before ordering.
@@loreeshock6084 It still works flawlessly even through three winters. I've been happy with the brand.
Any rusting ?
None at all. Still working flawlessly to this day now 6 months later. I'll post an after winter update in Spring.
Idaho Living any update after winter?
Hi Mate, With the location of the camera placement, so close to the ground, how is dust, dirt, rain affecting the vision?
Thanks.
Do your lights have to be on to power camera with the brown wire or does it power on when truck powers on?
Southern Style Lawn Care It powers on with the truck. You have to check these carefully as some of these wires are "switched" when you turn the lights on or go into reverse. Check for the "always on" wire. Thanks for watching.
I have a silverado with same harness and same brown wire. Did you have to wire the red short wires to anything?
I did not use the red short wire, since I got power from the harness. The red short wire can be used if you want to grab power from the constant on source at your head unit.
Thanks. I am about to put mine in I will let you know how it goes. Thanks.
Do you have to use any other wires? I used the brown on the rear and then plugged in yellow cable and grounded and nothing..
Nice work, you should try using our products on your vehicle please check out our page.
bad place
Thanks for the details man
