I'm interested in Kay's take on Harman Professional after its acquisition by Samsung a few years ago. Do you see any notable changes, positive or negative, since the acquisition?
Honestly it seems like business as usual. Can’t say I’ve noticed any kind of change
Ted: What is your actual job at K-Sound. What do you do when you are not vlogging?
Kay: Does K-Sound have any actual employees or are all the guys just hired independent contractors on a per gig basis? Ever thought about employ someone full time?
I have 4 “full time” employees. Many techs on payroll but I would consider them part time, and many many freelancers that come and go.
Who do you speak to in order to drum up new business? Is it the Tour Managers, Production Manager, Venues or Bands etc?
All word of mouth. From one job to the next. This is my biggest weakness honestly….i can’t drum up shit at the moment!! It all comes from other client recommendations

Last year the audio was really really bad
Specially one of my favorite bands was there and the audio was so bad

Yea that 1% needs to be revised because I’m all about promoting local businesses and the people that run that event also campaign on that so I think it’s time to give you guys a chance .. last year the weather/ wind was a huge factor aside from the delay towers not working Saturday and Sunday 😢

Late to the party, but when you're buying cases, are you buying with truck pack in mind?
The short answer is yes …but certain things you just can’t work into truck pack dimensions.
If you had unlimited funding and you were a theatre manager of a 1000 seating theatre, what speaker setup would you have? Both brand and model. What subs would you have? (Your mains that is)
I’m partial to JBL so if on a budget srx 900 powered series, and if you have $ VTX. Best bang for the buck console is heritage D imo

How to start a production company in sound ..

Answer to second question: Money, passion and skill. All this equipment cost thousands, and in the beginning gigs are far between. Buy some gear, sell it at a reasonable price and over time upgrade. It takes years to get to the point where gigs come in regularly and you have PA worth hundreds of thousands. No need to go out and buy expensive equipment if you don’t have customers for it, so scale as you go.

What is your opinion on the use of point source and analog desks in the year 2024. Also. Remember Turbosound? Do you guys carry any of those? lol
Analog desks is niche these days. Certainly not a smart business move. Point source will never die, it just won’t be the main PA in an arena or long throw setting. And I had a turbo sound TXD(blue) pa waaaay back In The day. I also liked their VRX knockoff the TBV123-AN but it blew HF too often so I moved away from them
@@michaelkurczeski1373 Word. I know they've got their Manchester line now. Those things seem pretty cool. Haven't gotten to hear them yet.
Also I miss the old Turbo Blue PAs.
Please can you do a Behringer Wing video with Kay learning the new Behringer Wing ShowControl 2.0 with its presets, snippets and snapshot. This will be great for us who followed you when you first got the Wing, Please can you add a notification when the video will be screened, Us Winger really want this.

K!! Have you used the Soundcraft Ui24r and if so, is it road worthy? Or should i get a DM3?
I’ve installed ui24r before and the client didn’t like it and ended up getting an A&H something or other. Dm3 would be my preference if only because you can use it without an iPad.
