When I go to an event and sometimes i see DJ's doing their thing that's cool and s*** is on point but then you got those others who you want to say something too but you know they're not even going to pay you any mind so you just sit back and you shake your head. Kay you surround yourself by people who in the industry know what they're doing and if you don't know I'm sure you're going to find out and learn so sometimes it's just to leave these morons alone and just giggle behind their backs.
haha I have seen all the stories in China k said…in our country ,you can alway trust a mixing engineer growing up with livesound company..but things get change when the band and artists start hiring the mixing engineer from studio and audio school student to mixing livesound😂😂
Had an a1 request a DLIVE s5000 and cdm64 for a show , confirmed he had a show file and was good to go. I prep the console and get all the basic routing done. A1 is 35 minutes late for band sound check. Rolls up and says hey man thanks! Looking forward to trying the dlive never mixed on it before ! .... that was a fun one K!
I had a guy come up to me asking why I was running cat5e for my digital snake. So I explain that AES50 is pretty picky and really requires a shielded cat5e cable. And he no joke said to me that I should use Cat7 because the extra bandwith it has, gives you better audio quality... That's not how digital audio works buddy but sure...
I recently had a "big name" act insist they needed a pair of S6L's. So we got two for them and guess what... Neither engineer even knew how to turn on the console let alone mix on them. The show was so bad the promoter was handing out refunds at the exit door. Remember kids stick with what you know and just because your a "band engineer" doesn't mean you've made the big time. In fact it could mean no one else wanted the job and you where the last choice. My 2nd short story.... Big big big time band engineer that lives locally happens to be in town for a night I needed an extra engineer. Club gig, 4 pc band, X32 compact.... MR DIGICO shows up late and couldn't figure out how to get audio out of an X32 that just worked the night before with a similar band. Literally a babysitting job and big shot "tour" guy couldn't make the gig happen. It just so happened a local church sound guy was eating dinner at the venue stepped in a saved the show. Nothing against "Tour" guys but it's like K said. I don't care who you are until you prove your worth to me.
Hey K you have no idea sad the Latin community it’s 10x worse!!! I love my nationality but damn man. I’m a FOH/MON engineer for a Latin band. I can tell you so many stories about these house or system engineers that would put your stories so rest 😅😅 but hey love the channel keep it up!! Do more of this 🤘🏼
I can say I’ve personally worked with and had the opportunity to learn from K on how to handle some of these situations; and for that (and much more), I thank him. Just one of a few vignettes I could share, I supported K on a gig where we were being told how to cable the consoles we brought. I wanted to tell the guy to Go F Himself and K told me it’s not worth it…thank you K. For someone who truly knows his sh%^ to have to listen to the posers out there and calmly take it all in and not completely flip out on the clueless offenders…that is the mark of a true professional.
Please can you do a Behringer Wing video with Kay learning the new Behringer Wing ShowControl 2.0 with its presets, snippets and snapshot. This will be great for us who followed you when you first got the Wing, Please can you add a notification when the video will be screened, Us Winger really want this.
