I have bought and seen plenty of pre release copies (mostly radio and press material) of Burial and its basically what you describe, white paper sleeve with Burial and the track name lol
7:45 what a sublime shift. love his long compositions. it’s like listening to a fever dream, where memories of different nights blend together, somehow making perfect sense. 10/10 🙏
Hardcore is where the real UK underground street sound started really. It was the first style to breakaway from the House umbrella, which was a US thing. Everything roots from it - Jungle, DnB, UK Garage, Grime, Dubstep
Yeah but burial was a master of 2step dub and break beats. Im not so sure about his turn to hardcore in recent releases. Also wheb did he leave hyperdub? Is this a real release?
@@bobbydeazy He hasn't left Hyperdub, he releases on few other labels here & there. This is just another one of those rare moments. And yes i agree he mastered and even created his own signature sound foolin' around with those two sub-genres you mentioned but for some reason he left it and has yet to return to it. But, to be fair, even from interviews that go back as far as the Untrue LP he mentioned 90s Hardcore/Jungle and the ambition to wanna create his own tunes and here we are all these years later seeing him do it. So it's all nothing random if you've been paying close attention to him. Also, a sample he goes back to using quite often now "this is who i am" may refer to the fact that this sound is what he is and always wanted to be. Not the Untrue sound.
I think this track is a perfect example of what listening to electronic music on LSD feels like, at least from my own experience. This is pretty much what music sounded like during my peaks: equally distorted, detailed, long and somehow haunting yet pleasurable at the same time. I don't think I would have fully understood this track without trying LSD.
The best since "Four Walls"...these Prodigy vibes embeeded in typical Burial composition are simply epic- i will listen to this for decades...from 03:20 on all clubs going crazy
If you are like me it reminds you how good The Prodigy were when they first started out. This track is awesome and has the production you get nowadays, but it doesnt half make you reminisce a bit man too
Love this but wtf is there an advert halfway through this track. 2 ads on the front end, fine, i know you gotta pay your artists but an ad breaking this track up is criminal

@@Bimbotronic ill always check a new burial tune. This is a good tune, I'm a massive oldskool hardcore fan. XL have always released this sound, the prodigy albums were on XL. Casisdead new album was on XL Aswell, wasn't great must admit. But burial and cas are my 2 fav artists.
This is pretty fucking incredible and exactly what I've been looking to dive into in terms of sound. Any recommendations for something that sounds the same to this or artists to start with, albums?
The fuh-! The amount of sampling his own tunes on this lp is insane! Its all new but ive heard it before and I heard it before I heard it before! Dont let me out of this hol-y shiiiiiit
I dunno who you think you are. Playing on my memories of trying to get home after a disappointing after-hour club. Stop taking me back, making me think about myself, my loves, and my delusions.
I imagine Burial sending a cd-r ,with ''Burial'' written on it, to the label, whenever he's ready to release something.
That’s actually what he did back in the day.
I have bought and seen plenty of pre release copies (mostly radio and press material) of Burial and its basically what you describe, white paper sleeve with Burial and the track name lol
This vibes like Aphex Twin back then. More digital but eclectic nonetheless. :)
My mind always search ''burial new song'', every year. Is like a loyalty.
Same here
Sounds like a snapshot into a 90s raver's lost memories
Damn, such a beautiful phrase! Really dig this
Indeed i can confirm that.
perfect
….implanted into a droid and broadcast from a rave on an abandoned mining station orbiting Saturn.
This track exactly resembles what I felt like raving in Belfast during late 90’s early 2000’s . Special times

lOVE IT 'fever dream' beautiful
his signature... the only one, Burial
Blah blah blah
Does anyone recognize the samples used at that part of the composition?
If an underpass had a soundtrack, this would be it. What a vibe.
Kinda epic to have this release on XL. Dope single

Burial hitting that stem seperation for vocal samples.
This track feels like a tribute to Early 90’s UK Hardcore.
feel the same!
Straight from the dungeons
Going to name my kid Dreamfear after the goat
I'm loving this breakbeat focused sound.
Nice to hear some hardcore from Burial...
strong EP

Might be the Doc but this is the coolest shit ever. "Back from the dead" section really reminds me of old Boards of Canada
Burial releases keeping me going til the the next BoC one 🤞🤞
insane release. so different but typical Burial! ❤️
Dystopian roller coaster this one is… 🛸

Burial got soundtracks out of their system and we’re back to Rival Dealer-era cosmic bangers. Praise Jebus!
Don't knock the soundtrack phase, Come Down To Us is one of his greatest tracks imo

Classic rhythms from 90's. Do you know for example Prodigy? Yes you know. Love, it.
