This feels like a eulogy for all the raves that didn't happen this year.

@@moonlitmicrotonalmusic1070 you're right
perfect.
I was so obsessed when this dropped. Now coming back like a year later man do I LOVE this tune.
He saved my life with Untrue. Now he saves my 2020 with this... I love you Burial, all the lost souls love you 🖤
sounds a bit naff but same, straight up
Haha.
Silly young fan.
@@kozmicflush980 I got Untrue a few weeks after it came out
You either get his genius or you don't. And you definitely do.
Not just the lost
This is one of the best gifts ever, in this whole shitty year.
Came to say this!! Damn. A candidate for my favorite track(s?) of the year. What a ride.
I do think it's also one of his best tracks! Probably a bit early to tell, and it is opinion based. But I really love this track.
This and also Salem dropping their album this year as well.
@@rooisrad01 Whoa, what the fuck??? What year is it?? Thanks for this nugget.
@@rooisrad01 witchhouse salem?
I'm 15 again and it's 1997. YES! Huge Prodigy influence in this. Thanks for making me feel young again
Prodigy, ok where?
@@user-ob9zo9cr4c I think what tim is getting at, is this reminds him of the splintered, pitched up vocals in hardcore, happy hardcore, and some jungle back in the early 90s. I reckon 1997 is a bit late for this, and it is more like 1993/4 for the peak of that kind of thing. The Prodigy are an easy one to link to this sound, with tracks from The Prodigy Experience using vocals and breakbeats like this.
@@user-ob9zo9cr4c prodigy vibes all over this
@@user-ob9zo9cr4c the synth, for one. Burial often samples Prodigy, though he doesn't on this track. But the synth stabs are very "Experience"esque.
@@caitturner5678 i was just thinking that!
first the new collab with Four Tet and now this
I’ll never forget listening to the street halo EP and the first Thom/Four Tet/Burial collab in 2011, thinking “.....THIS is the future of music.” From Burial’s Kindred EP to Chemz, he never fails to disappoint.
(If you haven’t heard the burial/four tet collab “nova,” look it up, it’s worth it.).
Very well said. Unture was like an awakening for me. It seems like a lifetime ago that I had found burial, when in reality it's been fourteen years.
I think that the world is a better place with Burial in it. Glad to see him making his annual return, consistently on form as always. What a nice early Christmas present.
Same I wanted to dance
Just like the best Burial tunes, this gets better with every listen. I didn't like it the first few listens. Then I caught myself humming it days later. Came back to it and now I can't stop playing it. Absolute banger. Can't wait to hear Dolphinz. Thank you Burial!
There’s aloe more going on than I caught initially. I was a bit bummed not to find any atmospheric moments, but if you actually listen to the way the melody shifts and builds, .... it’s really great.
I still think Temple Sleeper is his best fast song tho.
@@RustinChole temple sleeper is so good
@@aelphind4954 ps- in case you don’t have it you can buy the MP3 and WAV file for Temple Sleeper on Bookmat.
Dolphinz is probably going to be more like State Forest
This is me rn lmao
has a 90s rave feel. luv it
pulled out my burial records today and listened to like 3 of them so i'm pretty sure i directly manifested this song
Thanks homie
Can you maybe manifest Dolphinz a bit faster too? That would be the bomb homie
My man
Thank you jesus
lol
now this is what you call an instant classic, absolutely timeless
Little by little this song worked it's way into my psyche during the past week and now I can't get it out of my head...
Oh man I wish some day Burial will drop the whole album in the style of Claustro and Chemz
And Temple Sleeper. Lover that song.
and Old Tape :)
And mix it with his Untrue hauntology stuff. That would be insane.
7:00 to 9:38 is f***ing 🔥!! I’m 50 yo and get taken back to my first rave in ‘91 when I hear this section of the track.
Best Burial track in years. He's still got it.
How can he merge so many emotions in one damn track ?! Burial creates the most longing and personal music I ever heard and never seizes to do so.
I want to hear this at one of them 'illegal raves'. Whoop
2020 - the year having a few mates around for a coffee constitutes an illegal gathering... well, better get some Burial on!
Burial, a master storyteller !
Какие же мурашки. Настолько мелодично делать брейкбит
One-person quarantine party time. 🙌🏾
No doubt
Fuck the scamdemic see your friends and enjoy life , you have a 99.997 survival rate so i wouldn't worry.
@@JonnyParker- I’m guessing you got your research from UA-cam videos/random blogs on the internet. Let’s not do that, thank you.
@@planettes No actually i got it from real doctors like one of the top surgeons in UK Dr . I can name many more professionals who have been calling this scam out since day fkin1 you pos joker.
Burial has discovered the DAW grid
Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and Burial....Amen !
add Bersarin Quartett to that list :)
a lot to add.. dude spell only 3 projects lol
John denver
What about: Autechre, Four Tet, Bicep, Squarepusher,
Don’t forget the new comers DJRUM, Skee Mask and Varg
Ive never heard anyone morph and time shift audio quite like Burial in decades of listening to music.
Chanel couture
Christmas Eve last year and I was admitted into hospital with a severe STI, my left testicle had swollen up to the size of an orange and some random Taiwanese doctor told me I was going to lose one of my Christmas baubles. Listened to this tune on repeat for about 4 hours on the hospital bed and I've never been so grateful for any piece of music existing. Just can't explain or feel when I'm around you baby.
12min of pure energy, he just saved 2020
dancing in my room like crazy. beautiful music, the only thing that keeps me alive.
I don't know how anyone could downvote this. I feel like this is sound I have waited my entire life for. Burial's post-rave style has always been something I enjoy at my age, this track ramps it back up on to the dancefloor and I can't stop playing it.
The vocals are annoying.
"Street halo" samples in the end
and Endorphin at 0:15
Only Burial samples himself
🎶always possessin🎶
Another genre defining classic here. TRUST ME.
it really is
Burial sounds a lot more rave focused on this single, it's as if it's the rave you went to before you listened to Untrue on the way back from the rave and you return to reality.
I love his rave style, especially on claustro (specifically the ending)
i think chemz, claustro, and old tape, show a pretty consistent direction which is 90s rave infusion
ye lol 7 minutes in it sounds way more jungle-y compared to his usual stuff
yeah have always thought untrue and the other eps were more of an inbetween rave introspection and sober reality of the ugliness of the rave culture for me
@@SuperHell666666 oh yeah I can definitely see that as well! It’s just some of those tracks are darker and don’t really feel like you’re at the rave. His Luke Slater remix has got that rave feeling to it as well, love that tune
Burial, I always come back to you man, always
This is without doubt a homage to the underground rave culture of the early 90's, and I think you really had to experience it first-hand to fully appreciate this tune. A glorious mix of nostalgia, adrenaline and endorphins - thank you, Burial. 🍻
I agree with you that this track (and many others by him) is a tribute to 90 s rave culture but I personally never experienced this era but loved that track at first sight anyway. Btw Burial himself claimed he never went to any rave when he was young
@@deaconbluesful Of course mate, anyone can enjoy it as a song, I'm not saying that - I mean to have the memories it brings flooding back from that time adds something extra - you get the full experience. I've read that he didn't go himself too but he was around, and aware of it - through his brothers apparently - and enjoyed rave music... which still counts! 😄
@@deaconbluesful the thing about Burial is he can make you experience things you've never experienced personally before.
For me it's not a hommage or tribute to anything. It's a fresh and advanced 2020 successor with its own twists of an almost dead genre, and I love it even though I wasn't in the scene back then.
@@hoagieimpact9189 You said it yourself - you weren't there. Had you been, you'd be of a different opinion.
Yes Burial!! Them Raving vibes!
If my screen could record my facial expressions when Burial releases a new song 🤍
This is what my good dreams sound like, maybe my favourite since Untrue. Thank you for such a beautiful end to a truly crap year. Hard to describe how it makes me feel. Gets me right here ♥️
7:26 is so euphoric
Thumbnail guiding me home like the star of Bethlehem 🌟
Dancing my ass off to this in Oakland! Thank you Burial/Hyperdub!
Oh Oakland is getting cool again ha
Feels like he combined three songs into one. Amazing song! Reminds me of old times!
Paricularly like the burialims!
still haven't been able to track down that god-tier sample at 7:00
chemz is a gem
Epic!!! From 06:50 onwards it's pure bliss!
funny how i thought the opposit
Just properly listened to it today and realised it came out on my 40th Birthday!! What a tune! A soundtrack to summer 21 I hope !! Peace Love & Unity to you all :)
I keep coming back to this song
This man gets better with every release just insane
Burial's nickname should be Santa. He always delivers at Christmas! 😬What a genius. Thank you!!
this is everything 💜💜💜
Everyone probably has this particular "home"-music, music you've been listening to for half of your life already, that accompanies you through several life phases and that seems to understand you every single time in a very special way. Somehow it even adds another, deeper understanding of your situation or shows you feelings you never had before. A feeling that really just a few people can give you. Burial's music is mine - thank you for being my home and my inspiring, fragile, dark ambiguous friend, so warm and cold at the same time
🙏
We've gone a long way, friend, with 15 years of Burial (and Hyperdub) in our lives.
Man, I almost cried a little. This song hits just so perfect.

Why on earth I found this absolute piece of magic this late? Burial is one of My favourites and this is a superb track
Loving the Street Halo samples towards the end

Didn't even notice the symbol fading in and out like the bat signal.
I’ll always stop what I’m doing when Uris drops a new track. Even if I’m about to die, I’ll say “not today god” and last 12 more minutes just for the UK sound.
I remember back in the day I had a compilation tale called “sweet pea”. This embodies it perfectly!
True school 🔥👊🏽🏴☠️
It doesn't happen often, but I can state after the first listen it's one of the coolest tunes from the overlord!
