- The classic 6.5x14 Ludwig snare drum. I've owned this LM402 half of my life. Here it is!
NOTE: I'm in my thirties, and I clearly forgot what year it is. I bought this drum in 2007, not 2017.
Hey guys, I clearly forgot how old I am, and how years work. I bought this drum in 2007, not 2017!
Cool video! I picked up an early 80s LM402 about 10 years ago for $200 Canadian. It’s amazing! I also prefer it in the medium to high tuning range.
Ryan! Sounds awesome, I really love it, I own four aluminum drums, I don’t have a Ludwig, i’ve got two Yamaha, recording customers, one Tama starphonic, and one DW collector series
Great Craigslist find. Worth the long drive out of town and back!!
Eyyyy what's good Timbo!

Cool
Love it Ryan, and as always, you rule! Love the tuning best near the end when you said that's about where I usually tune it.
Ryan very cool drum and series idea! You pulled off the younger guy well! 🤘🏻👍🏻😎
terrific playing!.Sir.
should do some more covers or just jamming on your own.
awesome watching you play them drums peace.
Hey Ryan great stuff once again!!! I did send you an email a couple weeks ago but don’t know if you ever got it. Take care and keep on rocking !!! George
Sweet demo as always! It's interesting that you prefer snares with less attack to counteract the abundance of attack with your own playing. I have a lot of attack as well, and I prefer the LM402 because it has even more attack. But it's not an "aggressive" attack like some snares. I could easily use the Supra on a jazz gig. What's your go-to snare for most applications?
I think the attack thing has more to do with the dryness of the attack more than anything. I find I prefer a darker, fatter attack in most situations. My Black Beauty, Tama Star Reserve Copper, Dunnetts, and cast bronze drums are my first go-to snares because I like the wider attack that they provide. Demos for those will be coming soon.
You should do a video on your favorite drumsticks
8 or 10 lug?
10 lug. To my knowledge 8-lug 402s don't exist. I do know a couple prototype 8-lug 400s were made in the 60s.
@@masecardrums Oh okay I didn’t know that, thanks for the info!
