I've just bought a 2009 59 reg W212 E63 6.2 yesterday and it has this "RS" feature !, Hence I googled this to find out what it does ! and I found your very informative video ! I shall try out this launch control on a private run way when I get the chance !! 😈 Thanks for the video man ! 👍👍👍

Odd that selecting Race Start doesn't automatically set the Sport+ mode and turn traction control off by itself.

I have a 2021 C63S and I've only used launch control a few times, but today I tried to engage it and it gave me an error. I think it said launch mode not possible. Any ideas what causes this to shut down? Engine temps were in the low 160s.
It's only really a party trick to be honest. Best to get your car scanned on a diagnostic machine to check what error codes it has generated.
Hi I have a CLK270 w209 2004 with 174,000 miles with full Mercedes service & parts. What are your thoughts on me getting it a stage 1 tune? Please could you advise? Chris
I have E270CDI W210 170 STOCK, stage 1 220 HP Map Tuned. It makes 0-100 in 6.5 seconds and 0-200 in 25 seconds. It's a beast the I5 Mercedes Engine. I suggest you to do it, i have not had problems for 4 years.

A friend told me that RS is slower than brake boosting with Traction Off. Have you found that with 0-60 acceleration?
In theory yes, on a dry surface and you get it perfect, otherwise no.
I don’t think this option is available for the new cls53s? Am I wrong?

Does the E63 2010 have this function?
Should do if its the W212
bit of rigmarole to go through just to pull away quick pain in the arse if you only have the time for traffic lights to change to set it up lol - id just use the SRS HOLD feature much quicker
Its not meant for road use + its alot quicker than simply flooring it :) virtually no wheel spin.
@@killerhertzmercedes I understand killer I own a CLS320cdi I've had the car nearly 3 years only found out its got the feature SRS HOLD lol. Just makes the pull away from lights more interesting instead of hold the brake with your foot and then flooring it now just nail the throttle ;-) oh love your CLS63 AMG sounds sweet great video drive safe bud ;-)

no, it's all automatic :)

Can you do faster launch times if you do it manually. I can't help thinking that the stig wouldn't use AMG launch.
You would get more wheelspin doing it manually...

Does a 2013 MB CLS550 have launch control or cruise control at all?
No, only the AMG versions.
@@killerhertzmercedes thanks, no race start but the base version does have cruise control I checked inside mine and it's on the left side steering wheel lowest control clicker

I have a question about my C450 AMG (2016) which was from 2017 called C43. Now the C43 has a launch start but not the C450 - not apparently anyway. Do you know if one still can use launch control?
The cars software which controls RS will be different between those models.
That first launch bogged down a fair bit and probably took at least half a second out of the 0-60 time. Probably because it's a 2011 model. I assume the 2019's are considerably better.
Its not on the finest quality tyres also :)
KillerHERTZ Mercedes Modifications hey man, how do you find the rear seating space on the w218 cls? Would you say it’s better than the C class sedan or fine for 2 adults? Comfortable?
@@av8743 Way better than a C-class, alot more comfortable and better seats. However remember that there are only 2x seats and the roofline is lower, so anyone over say 6'1" will be touching the roof with their heads.

@@killerhertzmercedes damn bro you should have kept it just for shits and giggles. They don't even cost that much nowadays. Ive seen prices in the UK and it's easily a 5th of anywhere else. Mine was a bit over 50k€

You can Increase or decrease with the padels when in RS I believe
