  • Hero's first liquid cooled engine, what could go wrong?
    The performance shows how well Hero has done their research. Can't say it will beat the KTM 200s but I'm pretty sure this won't burn a hole in your bank account.
    Hero's main problem is service and they're trying to change things over there. Hero is also bringing in quite a lot of similar designs in their bikes and scooters and are also bringing in many other Safety features.
    The touring visor on this bike is just quite a gimmick and won't be of any use in the highway in case you're going touring as it doesn't move a lot.

    A very honest and accurate review.Being a owner of this bike,Very much agree with the insights shared here.For the people worried about the ride comfort of Karizma XMR,let me help you. It's very very comfortable in most kind of roads. And like said in the video the exhaust note is a treat to the ears and definitely a crowd catcher

      Hahahaha 😂 I couldn't stop thinking about the Xoom when I saw the Karizma in person for the first time lol.
      Anyways, I feel Hero is starting to make their products look quite similar to eachother, so people can identify them without looking at the logo. That's my take, what do you think?

      TBH I haven't yet tried the Bajaj 200s properly. So I can't compare it to that.
      The KTM 200 on the other hand is something I've ridden for a few kilometres and I can say that, this bike has a lot more low end torque than the Duke/RC200 but doesn't like getting revved out like the KTM.
      The KTM is not as quick as this tho. I feel this accelerates faster, reaches 60-80kmph faster than the Duke but the Duke reaches 100 faster.
      The brakes of the KTMs are miles better but the engine also has a slight buzz which isn't there on the XMR.

    I also got a test ride of this bike, although it was quite short. I found what you said quite relatable.
    At 0:40, at first, I thought the same; the bike just rolls off with the clutch being released slowly.
    At 7:30, the low-end torque is not that great, and I also stalled the bike in second gear over a small bump with a pillion.
    At 8:20 and 9:56, yeah, false neutrals. I don't know if that is common with test bikes, but I faced that too while parking the bike.
    Oh yeah, by the way, great review and smooth downshifts, man! Loved it.

      0:40 yes, the bike rolls off because of the Glide through technology which is basically something that comes in Modern FI bikes. You leave the clutch, the bike maintains a programmed speed without stalling unless it's a hill.
      7:30 yes, the low end torque isn't great which is expected in a short stroke engine.
      8:20 and 9:56 It wasn't a false neutral, I put the bike in neutral and it stopped. The bike has a very precise gear box and I didn't even get one false neutral. I intentionally put it to neutral knowing that I'm going to be stopping the bike in a few feet.

    I don't know what's wrong with this bike bt it looks even less premium than Xtreme 160 4v.. and the front is the biggest off for me.. I wish they would've hired the guys who designed rs200😂. Hope Hero will release its naked varient with good design soon

    Nice review, Hero ZF makes gearboxes for a lot of exotic performance cars so they have a lot of experience. They showed their expertise on the Xpulse 4V update. The engine as well, a complete first for Hero. Sadly the bike is not selling well at all, very poor marketing. The launch event was super corny, when they had to talk more about their engineering achievements with this architecture as a whole. But they wasted time with that Hrithik's cap, a Roadies reference nobody remembers.etc.

      Hahaha Yes, they did waste a lot of time with Hrithik's cap. Although I feel they should be very proud of what they've made. This bike is completely different than any other Hero has made (excluding the Mavrick 440 which in my opinion is just a dumb choice). They did fail in marketing the Karizma and it's lost its charm which it had before. I don't think this bike would have a fanbase like the previous ones.

      They did showcase it at EICMA and I don't think it's going to come in any time soon. They should be releasing the Xpulse 440 and then start thinking about the Naked Karizma after that.

    Bad after sales is the problem and new maverick and Harley not available in premium showroom category runing things for hero. Splendor ka mechanic cannot do the xmr right

      As of now, Hero is planning to expand their "Premia" showrooms. Not only that, they're also selling their premium products in large showrooms as well without the "Premia" badge.
      The availability of the bike might depend on your location but in Bangalore, it's quite easily available.
      Yes, the marketing isn't great and the showroom barely knows anything about the bike. Their sales isn't that great.
      Coming to service, I've heard Hero is trying to bring in a lot of changes in service by training their technicians to do so. Apparently, there was some sort of training which was given to the mechanics to help work on these complicated machines.
      There are many changes going to come up in the service front but people might still have their own doubts.
      Sometimes, the splendor mechanic might be the most intelligent person in the crew.
